"Ugh." I groaned as I looked into the mirror. My brown hair was up in a half pony tail and my side-swept bangs covered part of my left eye.

Lissa had had stylists do my shopping after she found out what all the popular girls at the school where because THEY were the group I had to fit in with. That's the group of people that Derek hung out with.

So, here I was wearing a denim skirt, a white shirt with a rose design on it, and grey + white flip flops.

Not exactly my usual jeans & black shirt attire but I could work with this...I think.

"Isabella!" I heard Kelly call my fake name from downstairs and I shivered slighty. I always hated using different names but it came with the job so I sighed before grabbing my bookbag and trudging downt he steps where Kelly stood with her two-year-old son on her hip.

Kelly was Lissa's cousin who just luckily happened to live in the same town as where my mission is taking place. She has shoulder-length strawberry-blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. Her son, Devin, looked just like her right down to the dimple in his right cheek when he smiled, the only physical difference between Devin and his mother is the fact that Devin has brown eyes like his father.

His father died one year ago of cancer.

Anyways, Kelly agreed to take me on as her niece to help out her cousin. She knows all about the mission and her cousin's job even though it's supposed to be all top secret and what not. Kelly runs a very sucessful local restaraunt and was often coming and going.

"Good morning Kelly. Hello Devin." I smiled slightly at the two and Kelly returned it while Devin laughed for no reason.

"Okay, Lissa bought you a new car to help you 'fit in' with the populars and here are the keys. I won't be home until late so can you pick up Devin from his day care after school? Just use the GPA system in your car to find the place. Thanks a bunch and have a nice first day sweety!" She then hugged me and ran outside leaving me alone. I sighed and shook my head before stalking over to the kitchen and opening the fridge.

If there was one thing I learned while being a spy it's that you should eat up whenever you get the chance because you'll never know when you'll be locked away without food.

Now, I've never learned that through personal expierence but I've saved quite a few people to know that when you're captured they don't really care about your nurishment.

I grabbed a poptart before grabbing some orange juice and pouring myself a glass. I looked out the back window in into the yard as I drank my drink and I observed everything that was occuring.

A little brown squirrel was running back and fourth around the lawn, a blue jay was sitting on the fence that trailed along the sides of the yard, the morning dew glittered in the bright sunlight, and the wind was blowing so softly that only trained eyes (like mine) would be able to notice how it lightly passed through the tall trees.

I finished off my drink by now so I placed the glass down, grabbed my poptart, and headed outside towards my car. I sighed when I saw it: a silver buggy with lightly tinted windows.

Now, I have nothing against buggys it's just...not exactly the type of car that I liked to see myself, a prideful spy, driving...ever.

Well, on the bright side of things I'm sure that since this is a long term assignment that Lissa would have had our tech people work some gagets into it...I hope. I sighed and plopped down in the drivers seat before sliding my key in.

The ignition started and nothing out of the ordinary happened. This was an ordinary car. Darn it.

I frowned and pushed down the little flap thing in front of me that should pull down a personal mirror. It pulled down the mirror but my eyes looking into it seemed to start of something.

'Eye scan complete. DNA verified. Automated system activated. Please voice your name.' I smiled, Lissa never lets me down.

"Laretta Dovens."

'Full name please.'

"Laretta Alexandra Ruby Dovens."

'Name processed, access granted.'

That's when the little mirror thing pulled up, all the doors locked, and my front windshield came up with tons upon tons of tiny little dots. The black dots eventually swarmed to show a big, circular signal that I knew to be Lissa's and within moments there she was up on the screen. She was on her computer and didn't seem to notice me.

"Ehemm..." She looked up in surprise.

"Laretta? Oh! I'm guessing you activated your car?" I nodded. "Good then, well this isn't much because the buggy is only so big..." I rose my eyebrows.

"Yeah, about this whole 'buggy' situation..." She smiled slightly and laughed a bit.

"Yes, so sorry. I had a feeling you wouldn't be pleased but it's for the best..." I shook my head a bit. "Anyways, this tool is only to be acessed in case of emergency. Believe it or not this takes up a lot of gas and with gasoline being $3 a gallong these day..." I nodded.

"Understood."

"Good, now if you do feel the need to talk to me make sure to go into your closet. At the back of it there is another room and it...well, I'll let you check it out when you get home from school. Don't go inside and do it now because your already going to be late!"

"Then why are you still talking to me?! I should be driving!"

"No, it's good to be a bit late on your first day because it'll get you noticed and the popular kids will come to you sooner." I rolled my eyes.

"How is that gonna work?" Lissa laughed.

"Trust me. Now, I'll talk to you later and remember - keep you eyes on the prize." I smiled as the screen turned blank and Lissa dissapeared from view. That's how she always signed off with a 'Keep you eyes on the prize.' It was kind of like a tradition now, I guess.

I pulled from thought and started to drive down the street as I followed the GPS inplanted in my car. Now, if there was one thing that is to be my downfall as a spy, it will deffidently be my sense of direction, I can barely tell left from right! Lissa's put me through countless classes in which to hopefully improve my sense of direction but each attempt proved to be fruitless.

I've been trained and mastered the skills of sight, smell, touch, taste (yes, you can master that skill), and hearing yet I can't find my way out of a paper bag. Thank god for technology.

After a few minutes of driving, I pulled into a school parking lot. I sat in the car and heard the late bell ring; I shivered when as I remembered my own pervious years of highschool...boy was I glad to get out and yet now I'm back...fantastic.

I sighed and got out of my car as I started to walk towards the school. It was now time to finish preparing before throwing myself into the sea of devouring highschool kids...let me take that back. Before becoming a devouring highschool kid.

Boy, this was certainly going to be a challenge.

The next one will deffidently be more exciting because that's when you'll start to meet everyone including Derek.
