And Dain still couldn't get out of this blasted city!! Even when it was night time when Dain could move freely without risk of frying, he still couldn't leave. When he tried to leave the woods away from teh cityit was as if the trees moved themselves, or changed North to South, West to East, and vice versa. And that was if he could resist the tempting pull on his senses, an inaudible murmur, a subconcious whisper drawing him back to stay. It was on the 5th night after escaping that Dain actually fell asleep. Which was weird, because Dain never sleeps. His whole kind doesn't sleep.
A bright glb shined in Dain's face. Mesmerized, Dain stared, trying to subconsciously probe its depths, discover its secrets. Instead, Dain heard felt a broken voice speak to him in his thoughts...
...Dain...find... th-.. Power...-Power will show you th-...golden...-path...the- Power will... you t-..your...destiny! Don't be...-fraid..of th- Myth... won't hurt...you! Follow... Power... into.. Myth! Find.. th- Power!
Dain's shining golden eyes snapped open, darting around in fright, checking for danger.
Nothing.
But what he did see surprised him. And scared him.
It was Daylight.
Ceridwen looked up from her paper. "Miss Power, what does 'm' in the equation 'y=mx+b' represents?" Ceri stared unfazed into the teacher's eyes. "In the equation 'y=mx+b', 'm' represents the slope." The teacher nodded, satisfied, moving on with the lesson.
Ceri went back to her 'work'. She had been drawing and painting the golden eyes she saw a few days ago frequently. They fixated in her mind, like a song or someone's words do. The golden eyes wouldn't leave her alone.
Presently, she had been working on a closeup drawing, just adding the finishing touches.
Sitting back, Ceri glanced down at the drawing. She found a pair of eyes staring back at her, as if they were looking at her soul. Subconsciously, that was what Ceri was aiming for. However, she was still unnerved that she had drawn these eyes, but even more confused; why couldn'y she get those eyes out of her mind?
Perhaps a walk after school would help her clear her thoughts...
