"Wow, nice place." Hailey commented, sounding impressed as we entered my living room.
I looked around at the place and smiled. "It's home." I said before shrugging, though it filled me with happiness to have somewhere to call home.
"So what do you do in your free time, Lizzy?" She asked, plopping down on my couch.
I thought about it for a minute. Run off with rockstars? Take my dead ex-boyfriends belongings?
"Watch movies, go bowling. Eat!" I laughed, going into the connected kitchen.
"I like bowling! We should go out and join a league or something." She joked.
"Eh, I've been in leagues. They're not all that great." I shrugged. She looked at me blankly for a moment before blinking.
"I was joking. I might like bowling, but I'm horrible at it." She said.
"Oh."
"Yeah."
"Hi, I'm Elizabeth."
"Hi, I'm Hailey Hatred."
"Hatred?" I asked with raised eyebrows.
"Pssh yeah. It's an emotion alias. Anyone who's anyone has one." She rolled her eyes playfully.
"Seriously? I should make one." I said, stroking my chin.
"Elli Envy." She replied automatically.
I raised my eyebrows again at her.
"You like it?" She asked.
"Yeah." I nodded my head.
"Good, I'm calling you Elli Envy from now on." She decided.
"Alright." I grinned, happy with my new 'Emotion alias.'
"Good, now what is there to do in this bachelorette pad?" She asked, looking around for a second time.
"Wanna so see Samantha?" I questioned.
"Who's that?"
"The woman that's renting me this place."
"Alright, let's go." She shrugged, jumping up from the couch. I walked to the door with Hailey Hatred close in tow.
"Hey Samantha!" I grinned once we reached the end of the stairs. When we had went to my apartment she had been in the back, probably making more coffee. I swear that woman had an addiction.
"Oh hi Elizabeth. I see you've made a friend." She smiled at Hailey [Hatred] who grinned awkwardly. I felt my cheeks turn red as she talked to me like I was five. Way to play it cool, Elli Envy.
"Erm, this is my bud, Hailey." I said, suddenly feeling self conscious.
"Nice to meet you, Hailey." She beamed at her.
"You too, misses...?" Hailey asked, hinting for her last name.
"Mrs. Harleck." She replied.
"Nice to meet you, Mrs. Harleck." She said politely.
"So what are you girls up to?" Samantha asked, stirring the cup of coffee that sat in front of here. See? Always with the coffee.
"Not much. We didn't have anything to do so we came to see you." I replied.
"Oh, it's nice to see I'm a last resort." She said sarcastically.
I smiled at her innocently before stalking over to the counter.
"So what are you doing?" I asked, leaning over the counter to look at the screen.
She immediately closed the IE window before I got a glance at it.
"Samantha," I said in the most authoritive voice I could muster, "were you looking at porn?" I asked with a knowing glance.
She shot me a glare and I began laughing.
"No, Elizabeth. I was not." She replied through clenched teeth.
I was a little surprised by how mad she was and quickly shut my mouth. I gave a Hailey I look that said 'Let's go...Quick.'
"We're gonna go now." I said before walking away quickly with Hailey in tow.
"Is she always like that?" She asked once we were outside the store.
"No. I have no idea why she got so mad." I furrowed my eyebrows before walking around in a circle.
"What to do, what to do." I sighed before sitting down in the middle of the street.
"Liz?" I heard someone ask
I looked up from the ground to see William standing before me with a confused expression.
"Why are you sitting on the sidewalk?" He asked.
"I'm thinking." I replied simply. "Where were you all day?" I asked.
"With friends." He shrugged.
"Alright." I replied before standing up. "Let's do something."
