The computer chair squeaked as she quickly ran towards it and jumped onto it.
The eager smile on her face was shining brilliantly with the sunlight.
Her delicate fingers swept past the keys rapidly as she responded to an e-mail.
Not any e-mail.
Just one from the love of her life. her pen pal.
Dear Im-A-Flirt-Not,
Hey, long time no talk! How are you? (: Anything new happening? REPLY BACK SOON! Did I ever mention I love getting mail from you? (:
- Ryan-So-Cool.
The gentle smile on her face was all the response he needed.
If only he could see her now.
Just one block away from his house.
Both wishing they could meet, but yet too afraid to admit it.
Too bad no one's going to help them. Except for them.
No, they were too good friends to do that.
They had respected their friend's privacy, and didn't push it.
Too bad no one can resist something for so long.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Her finger lingered over the Enter key, pondering whether or not she should send the e-mail that contained the future of her and Ryan.
"COOME DOWN HERE! I NEEED YOUU!," screamed her best friend's voice from the bottom of the stairs.
She sighed and quickly responded before taking and breath.
And pushing the key.
Ziip.
The computer beeped, indicating the letter was sent.
She let out her breath, staring at the screen.
The rest was all up to him.
She got out of the chair and ran downstairs.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
He sighed as he nearly fell onto the couch.
He had had one exhausting night, and couldn't wish for anything more then to fall asleep. Too bad that's hard with his insomnia.
His eyes lingered around the way too crowded room.
Stopping suddenly at the computer on his desk.
His eyeballs grew wider, along with the smile on his face.
He ran towards the desk, almost tripping over the bowling ball Brendon had left on the floor.
Why does Brendon even HAVE a bowling ball?!
He looked eagerly at the message on his desktop.
You have mail! =D
He didn't hesitate to click on the message.
Her words were just what he need to ease away his drowsiness.
Dear RyanSoCool,
Hey haven't talked to you in a long time too! Aw, thank you I love your e-mails too. I'm fine thanks. (: Hows your life?
- Im-A-Flirt-Not
P.S. - Do you want to meet up sometime? Say.. Starbucks? I really want to meet you! Tell me what you think.
Ryan's sharp intake of breath was full of surprise but you could tell the happiness in it.
He was frozen for a few seconds before quickly typing a reply.
Dear Im-A-Flirt-Not,..
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You could tell her happiness from the squeal she gave out.
Her bright blue eyes were shining; the smile on her too pale face would be enough to make the Grinch before loving Christmas smile.
She jumped up from her seat, dancing around her room, unable to hide her excitement.
Ryan and I are finally going to meet!!
Knock, knock.
"Come in!," she called out.
The door squeaked as it opened.
Revealing her mother's face, but tear-streaked.
The smile on her face disappeared rapidly.
She ran towards her dear mom asking what was wrong.
Her mother took her hand and whispered the three words.
The three words that would change her life forever.
Why do all goods things come to an end?

Saturday 16th, 2007.
Ryan was feeling tired again as always but decided to check his mail for perhaps an e-mail from her.
Oh how then he wished he didn't.
Dear Ryan-So-Cool,
Hey, I'm sorry to have to tell you this before we meet but.. I don't think well be able to.. It's not you it's me. You see I have leukemia. [This when his heart fell all the way down.] I suppose I have known this day would come for months already and I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner but I didn't want to ruin the friendship we had. But, perhaps it's better this way we didn't meet at all. Because I don't think I could go on without having your friendship if we had met. I'm sorry the day never could have happened. Todays the day of my final chemo so I'll find out the results.. If I don't make it.. I want to let you know, you've been my one true friend all this time besides Julie. Perhaps we could have been more then that but I guess we might never know. Once again, I'm sorry.
Sorryingly, [I know thats not a word..]
Im-A-Flirt-
Ryan could feel his heart no longer.
It was as though there was a big empty space there.
Brendon just had to chose this time to enter the room.
"Hey man. Whats up with that face?,"
Ryan didn't bother looking up at all.
Brendon went over towards his friend and looked over his shoulder and read the e-mail.
His sharp intake of breath was what made something click inside Ryan.
He walked over to his guitar and started strumming.
"Maybe its better this way huh?," he stated bitter sweetly.
"Hey Ry, it's not her fault..."
But Ryan seemed to be lost in his own world.
The notes and lyrics seemed to come all of a sudden to his head.
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
What you do to me
Hey there Delilah
I know times are getting hard
But just believe me girl

Brendon looked as his friend shaking his head then leaving the room.
Hey there Delilah
I've got so much left to say
If every simple song I wrote to you
Would take your breath away
I'd write it all
Even more in love with me you'd fall
We'd have it all
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me
Oh it's what you do to me

The last verse broke Ryan down.
He fell to the floor sobbing insanely.
Who said big boys don't cry?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
September 18th,
"Come on Ryan, you have to eat..,"
He used all his energy into a simple nod.
It had been 2 days..
2 days since he heard the awful news.
She might be gone..
She would have gotten the news already..
Perhaps she's already gone!
The thoughts struck tears to his eyes without him realizing it.
He was numb these days..
You could throw Brendon's bowling ball at him and he wouldn't notice let alone flinch.
Looking at his friend lying on the bed doing nothing for the past 2 days finally made Brendon want to take charge for once.
"RYAN! GET UP! Stop moping around about her, if you're really upset then go visit her at the hospital. She's probably there wondering if you were really her friend or not. Hell, I think she's the one hurting more."
Ryan sat up looking startled at Brendon.
He started to pace around the room feeling the power for once.
"She's the one with all the pain. Stop moping around here thinking about her. Go see her. She may not have said that in her message but girls don't do that. They just hint it out. It's like a test. And right now, she probably thinks you failed it."
Ryan took in his friend's words and slowly got up.
He grabbed his car keys and ran out the door.
"And so in conclusion.. You really should go visit h-.. RYAN?!"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brendon sighed.
He may as well follow him.
Ryan couldn't take anymore heart-breaks.
The least he could do was be there with him when he found out the news.
Maybe she was his way out of reality, but now..
He sighed, grabbing his own car keys.
He flung open the door, running out into the afternoon sun to his car.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ryan's mind was racing around and around.
He had no initial idea where he was going.
But found himself in front of the hospital.
He didn't know what made him take those steps inside, but he managed to.
He hadn't been there since..
He shook the thought out of his head, he wouldn't think about it.
He took the last two steps toward the receptionist.
Saying her name was probably one of the hardest things he had to say.
The receptionist's smile went upside down, looking pityingly at Ryan.
Her long manicured finger pointed down the dark hall.
He thanked her before going towards the door marked, '4.'
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
She lay on the bed in her designated room.
Her dark brown hair laid out on the pillow.
Her skin turned even paler if possible.
But even near death, she looked like an angel.
The door burst open, as he ran in.
He fell on the floor beside her bed.
His hand found the way into hers.
His face was streaked with tears too.
His voice could barely be heard.
Raspy, but still the teeniest audible.
"Don't die.. I-I need you.. I don't think I could continue on with my life without you.. I'm sorry I didn't come soon.. I.. I LOVE YOU!,"
With the last three words he stood up, grabbing her into a tiny hug, weeping uncontrollably.
His tears glistened as they fell onto her hair.
The seconds pasted, turning to minutes.
If only you could see the sight of the two.
Both intertwining with each other, her head on his chest, their breaths breathing with the others, their hearts beating together.
Slowly, slowing down, but both together.
The machine, went to a straight line.. Sounding off an alarm, alerting the doctors.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"ROOM FOUR!,"
The doctors voices yelled out into the silent hospital.
As they entered the room, checking the machines, they knew there was nothing they could do.
Two parents stood at the door, leaning on each other to support one another, weeping for their daughter.
All of a sudden an out of breath young teenage boy came running.
He took deep breaths to calm down, and when he did, he looked into the room.
Upon seeing the two young teenagers on the crammed hospital bed, he went silent.
He couldn't cry, couldn't do anything.
He was frozen.
The silence was cut off by the mother's loud cry.
Brendon's head swivelled over, seeing the two parents he slowly walked over.
"The-They're in a better place now. Together at last."
That seemed to console them a bit, but not to overcome the grieving.
The doctors shook their heads as the silently closed the door to room number four.
Running around everyone's head except one was why the young man had died too.
Brendon knew though.
He knew it was because of true love.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ryan's eyes slowly opened, adjusting to the light.
As he looked around in awe at the new scenery, his thoughts were cut off by a delicate voice.
"Hey Ryan..,"
He turned around, seeing the love of his life.
Knowing things were okay.
He managed to find his voice, barely rasping out..

"Hey there Deliliah.."
