"What do you mean I have to marry, what's his name...? Auron!? I never even met the man before, and now I have to marry him!? Can you explain to me how this is fair?" Yuffie asked, well more like yelled, at her father.
"Yes, Yuffie you have to marry him, being a princess means you must rule, and in order to rule, you must be married. You are nineteen now, and are still not married, it is a tradition." Her father answered her, trying to reason.
"Well forgive me if I dont wanna marry a complete stranger!" Yuffie muttered angrily. She was walking around the room trying to keep her self composed. Her father looked at her, disappointment in his eyes. Although, it was his fault, Yuffie was never able to learn most of the traditions of Wutai. He always had her stealing materia for the country. It was proof she loved Wutai, but she was obviously not ready for marriage.
"Please Yuffie; be reasonable, it's what's best for Wutai."
"Oh and I suppose STEALING was also best for Wutai? Godo I've done a lot for my country, the least it could do for me, was let this one little tradition slide for at LEAST another three years!"
"You know thats not possible Yuffie. I'm positive you'll be there, correct?" Lord Kisaragi asked his young daughter. Yuffie walked towards the window and looked out"Oh I'll be there alright." She said as she slammed open the door. Harshly closing it as well she muttered something along the lines of for murder.
Yuffie walked to her room thinking everything thoroughly. After trying different situations, she thought murder was the best one to go with. It was something she could do, and it would be faster. Although being exiled really didnt sound like a pleasant thought. She opened her door and was greeted with the setting sun.
"If my dad isnt dying, what's the point of me being married? It would be really point less Hey! I wonder if I could exile my husband after we marry maybe not. I dont think they would 'allow' me, the future Empress of Wutai' to do what ever I pleased," said Yuffie as she continued to look out the window. She smiled, she could leave after all, as long as her father was alive, no one could harm the throne, and her father was a great ruler. Yuffie went to her closet. Opening it she saw her green bag and conformer.
Smiling, she thought, "One little trip wouldnt hurt."
She grabbed both her conformer and bag, and anything else she might need. She pulled out her green and white cell phone and thought about who to call. She noticed the picture of everyone in her background. She smiled. Looking over everyone's face, trying to think of the best person to live with and wouldnt ask the most questions. Smiling even bigger she started to dial Cid's number.
"Come on Cid!" She said as she picked up her bag and Conformer. She ended up with his answering machine, which in more than one ways, was not something you wouldnt what your children to listen to. Sighing angrily, she closed her phone and heard foot steps. Looking out the window, she said a quick prayer and jumped out.
Godo Kisaragi pondered everything in his head. He sighed, Yuffie wouldnt show. She wasnt one to show up for something she didnt agree with. She would run away, so it was time to call the Guardians and the guards. He called the ones outside his room. Quickly coming in, he informed them what was going to happen, and then left for Yuffie's room.
Opening the door, he was not at all surprised to find her not there and the window open.
"Have the Guardians been informed?" The answer was yes, and he nodded, he knew the guardians would only appear to be chasing Yuffie. They did not want Wutai to become what they thought, and knew, Auron would do to the Country they loved so much.
"Okay now!" Yuffie thought as she looked back at her country. "Where to go, where to go Maybe Cloud and Tifa? Nah too nosey, plus the whole 'let's mosey' thing was NOT working for me" Yuffie shuddered at the thought. "Barret, nah I hate his train story Red XIII is WAY to boring, Vincent is the last choice" Yuffie started running; her father would have already told the guards and everyone else to be looking for her. She was sure some people had already seen her. Coming closer to the mountain she raced up the steps. Luckily Wutai's people had carved steps into the mountain as a 'tradition'. She zigzagged all the way up to the top. She called Cid again. This time he answered.
"Brat? Whaddya want? I'm busy as h-"
Yuffie cut him off, "CID! I need you to give me a ride to Rocket Town Think you can pick me up pronto?"
"Whaddya in such a hurry for? You didnt go stealin' from people diddya?" Cid asked, his voice had a very heavy country accent.
"No, no its not that, I'm in Wutai, I wanna go and visit everyone! Can you pick me up?" Yuffie asked again in a hurry.
"I guess, I ain't got anything to do but test the High Wind's new engine, where do you want me to pick you up?" Cid asked, for the first time not cursing on the phone.
"Uh I'm gonna say at the top of the mountain, I'm sure you'll be able to see, hurry please!" Yuffie hit end before Cid could ask her anything. Yuffie continued to run up the steps, stopping every once in a while to catch her breath. She had finally reached the top, even if her shoes where a fashion trend, she could pretty much doing anything in them. She looked over at Wutai, and saw five guardians running towards the mountain.
"ARGH! Why cant I ever just LEAVE without people chasing me? I need a new job; maybe if I became a cop, then I would do the chasing!" At this she started laughing like a maniac, "Wait What am I thinking? Argh, forget it, come on CID!" She yelled at the ocean. Looking around for the ship, she heard growls behind.
"Ehh Oops." Yuffie squeaked.
Cid looked over and immediately saw land.
"Well I'll be darned, that is one fast engine." He said to no one in particular. Looking over at the moment, he saw a figure and about seven other ones surrounding it.
"Darn Brat! Why can't she stay out of trouble!" he barked at the scene before him. He took out his cell phone with a picture of a girl on it. Calling Yuffie he looked towards Wutai, and saw the other five figures as well. At this point, he couldnt take it anymore; many, many colorful words came out of his mouth. Listening to the ringing he waited for her to answer, impatiently of course.
"Hello?" he heard Yuffie whisper as she picked up her phone.
"Brat what the hell did I tell you?! I ain't gonna get into any of this s-"
"Cid!" Yuffie yelled in a hushed whisper if that was even possible, "I can't talk right now, but I swear I didnt do anything, just pick me up!" Cid looked at the scene, very, very mad.
"Brat, you're gonna hafta pull a Tifa, now hurry up and get your-" The phone called ended as Yuffie hung up. Letting out some more colorful words, Cid told Shera to get the rope ready for Yuffie. She nodded and ran off once again.
After Yuffie hung up she looked at her current situation. Seven of them, one of her, her Conformer, and it was a long ranged weapon such a slight advantage. She heard Sierra's engines coming closer. Deciding it was time, she threw her Conformer at the seven wolves. She turned and ran. Running towards the edge of the mountain she heard the cry of pain from the wolves. Turning her heard she looked and saw her conformer coming back at her. She jumped off the mountain, caught her conformer, and saw the Sierra raise her altitude. Catching a glimpse of Shera before she fell farther down, she saw the rope in front of her. Still holding her bag, she reached out and caught the rope, just about twenty feet before it ended. She strapped her conformer to her back and checked her arm to see if it was okay.
Who'd of thought Yuffie could actually do the same thing Tifa did in a moment of desperation? She sure didnt. Her arm was hurting badly; although it wouldve been worse had she not had her gloves on. Since her arm wasnt too badly injured she started to climb up the rope. Luckily she had skill in this sort of thing and was able to climb quickly as she ignored the pain in her arm. As she reached the top of the rope, she felt someone help her. She gladly accepted the help and was brought up to the deck of Sierra. She looked up and saw Shera smiling.
"Hey, Yuffie! Just Rocket Town correct?" Shera asked as she held her hair back from her face.
Actually I was thinking the mountains near R.T? Yuffie asked, as she quickly started to feel sick.
"Lord Kisaragi, Yuffie was able to get away, unharmed." One of the guardians informed Godo. He nodded happiness within him.
"No one is to know about this, we could not catch her. That is what we are to tell the others." Godo said to all his Guardians. 'It's all up to you now Yuffie" Godo thought as he looked out towards the setting sun.
Yuffie was at the edge of the High Wind, throwing up her breakfast, and lunch. Shera looked at her knowingly. Yuffie sighed with relief as she noticed the land beneath her. Land was something she could handle, and for that she was happy, although it didnt stop her stomach from throwing up its contents. As the Sierra's engines slowed Yuffie felt less sick and was able to stand. She took out a water bottle that was half empty, from drinking it earlier that day. She took some in her mouth and rinsed out the disgusting taste from her 'great lunch'. Feeling enhanced about landing, she walked over to Shera who was looking at some of the controls.
"Hey, Shera! Could you remind Cid to drop me off near the mountains? I think hes slowing down, and were only at Rocket Town." Yuffie said sounding exhausted.
"Sure, I'll tell the Captain, you do have your restore materia though correct?" Shera asked before leaving.
"Yup, it's all nice-looking, round, and bright green!" Yuffie said displaying her bright green lustrous orb. Shera nodded and ran off towards the bridge.
"He said that would be fine, as long as you dont get yourself killed." Shera said plainly. Yuffie nodded.
"Thanks Shera, tell the sexist man I said thanks." Yuffie said as the High Wind sped past Rocket Town at a good speed and altitude for Yuffie. He stopped near the mountains, and Yuffie jumped over the railing of Sierra. She looked at the mountains ahead of her.
"Talk about a long way 'home'." Yuffie thought as she looked around the curves it took. She started jogging at a slow pace as she knew the terrain fairly well. The place still gave her the creeps. It was bad enough when Cloud told her what Shinra had done with the experiments; some things are better left unsaid. She started running faster as she wanted to cross the reactor before dark. There was almost no sun left, but she was sure she could make it to the bridge before it was completely dark. Surprisingly there were no monsters to fight. Yuffie thought maybe it was some conspiracy, the monsters were sure to come out.
Yuffie went though a cave in order to get to the other side. It was pitch dark, she couldnt see anything. She looked for her fire materia. She saw another green shimmering sphere and tried it. For a moment a modest shot of fire came out of her hand. She smiled in the dark as she lighted it again, this time, she kept it on. As she looked in front of her she saw crimson eyes looking at her. She screamed her fire lighting up higher.
"AHH! HOT, HOT, HOT, VERY HOT!" She yelled as she tried to stop the fire from burning her. She saw the figure summon his ice as it started to cool her.
"Ohhhh okkkk now that is, is is co-co-coooolddd!!" Yuffie stuttered as she felt the ice on her legs. She got up, and quickly summoned her fire, this time, keeping it farther away, and taking out her conformer.
"Whos there?" Yuffie asked ignoring what had happened moments before. Looking behind the fire, she saw a very familiar face. Looking back into the eyes of Vincent Valentine, she smiled.
"HEYYY VINCENT!" she yelled as she made the fire go away and ran up to him. She was about to hug him, but Vincent wasnt very social, and he didnt like contact with others. She stopped and waved instead. Vincent stood there, not moving, not that he could see her either. She really couldnt see his face, so she re-summoned her fire materia to a low level.
"Yuffie," Vincent asked as he stared at her, not moving his gaze, "what are you doing here?"
"Yeaa, about that" Yuffie shifted her weight to her other leg, "I was wondering if I could stay with you!" She was back to her happy go lucky self as she asked her question. Vincent was silent for a moment as he answered her question with a simple yes.
Yuffie jumped up and down, she was right, he didnt ask any questions. Unless maybe he knew? Nah, if Vincent was anti social, he wouldnt be paying attention to what was happening in Wutai. Ignoring it, she passed up Vincent.
"Hey what are you doing out here? Its already night time!" Yuffie said as she turned to face Vincent with a suspicious glare.
"That does not concern you Yuffie, why are you here? Cid called said you were in the mountains." Vincent said as he turned to face her.
'Spoke to soon' Yuffie thought as her smiled returned to her.
"I just wanted to see everyone! I thought that maybe since Cid was first and last, Id speed on through to the rest of you, plus Cid is a very sexist man, he doesnt like women, I dont like him either so its all good" Yuffie said, going off subject for a minute. Vincent stared at her for a moment. He knew she was lying, but he didnt press it any further. He wanted to make sure she was okay. Everyone thought Vincent was atoning for his sins like he was when he first met them, but that was a lie. He had finished long ago. Now all that was left of his memories were the demons in his mind.
"Very well, Yuffie, we must go, Im guessing your magic has gone down?" Vincent asked as he walked past her. Nodding Yuffie ran up to him. She saw a hint of light ahead of her. Putting her fire materia away, she noticed the mako in the next part of the cave. Enchanted by its bright glowing blue-green light she stopped and stared.
"Yuffie, come." Vincent said, passing the mako that reminded him so much of his beloved Lucrecia. Yuffie nodded, tearing her eyes from the well-known scene. Going out of the cave she noticed the moon was out.
"Hey! Are we stopping? Or are we gonna go all the way to the mansion?" Yuffie asked as she looked down towards the bridge, that happened to be missing steps, and made of aged wood. Vincent nodded and continued to go down the mountain.
"Itd be faster if we just jumped down." Yuffie said backing up towards the wall.
"Itd be faster to our deaths if we did that." Vincent answered stopping to look at her.
"Oh Vincent live a little." Yuffie said as she ran forward towards the edge. Vincent looked as she went running. Running to the edge of the mountain as well, he followed Yuffie. Sure she was ninja, but the jump was a lengthy way down, he wasnt sure if her body would be able to handle the impact of the force when she fell toward the ground, no matter how she landed.

"Vincent if you didnt want to jump, you shouldnt have jumped!" Yuffie yelled, the ground coming closer to them. Vincent was somehow able to reach Yuffie before she actually hit the ground. Her face was inches from the actual floor.
"O.k. so you were right put me down? Please?" Yuffie said as she was still shaken by her suicidal stunt. Vincent dropped her as she fell on the ground. Yuffie mumbled some colorful words as she looked at him. Standing up, she readjusted the bag on her arm. Walking past him she went on the bridge and started walking annoyed. Vincent looked at her, no emotion in his eyes. Yuffie looked ahead and noticed growls in front of her.
"I KNEW IT!" Yuffie screamed as she pulled out her conformer cutting the rope while she pulled it out. Vincent was about ready to kill this girl on his own. Yuffie let out a scream as she lost her balance and started to fall down the bridge, towards the ground, which only moments before almost killed her. Vincent rushed up to her, grabbed her and ran across the bridge before it made him fall as well. Pulling out his Death Penalty he shot all the wolves in their heads and put Yuffie down. She didnt look at him as she threw her bag down and her conformer at them. A wolf came at her that Vincent had somehow missed. She ducked and before the wolf could attack her, he slid off the mountaintaking her bag with her.
"YOU DUMB BRAINLESS WOLF!! I HATE YOU!! ALL OF YOU!" Yuffie screamed as she threw her conformer again. A few hours later, both Yuffie and Vincent were exhausted. The sun was starting to rise again. Yuffie freaked. She didnt think it had been that much time since she had been running though the mountains.
"I HAVENT SLEPT IN HOURS, YOU STUPID WOLVES!" she yelled again as she threw her conformer once more.
"Yuffie?" a female voiced called out from the path in front of them. Yuffie turned and saw Tifa. She smiled and ran towards her. Hugging for a brief moment Tifa looked at Yuffie confused.
"You dont know?" Tifa asked looking at her confused still.
"Know what?" Yuffie said as she heard a few more shots and cries of pain around her.
"Your father They announced it on the news?" Tifa stopped every once in a while to see if Yuffie knew what she was talking about.
"What about my dad?" Yuffie asked worried.
"They said a man named Auron has taken over Wutai. His wife left the throne, he over threw your father!" Tifa said still confused on how Yuffie didnt know this.
"Over threw my father? HOW?!" Yuffie said looking in the direction Wutai was in. Cloud and Vincent walked over to the two women.
"So Yuffie What are you going to do?" Cloud asked, he was obviously not very intelligent, yet he was the one who lead them all during the fighting. Yuffie looked at him as if he was stupid.
"Im going to Wutai, that dumb stupid idiot has no right to do that! We arent getting married for at least another month!" Yuffie yelled as she pulled out her cell phone again. Dialing Cids number, she waited patientlyonly to hide the anger inside her. No one noticed Vincents expression as they all thought about something to do. It was as if he arguing with himself. Which was half right, he was debating with his demon. It called himself Chaos and all of AVALANCHE knew it was not a good demon. For a moment Vincent fell ready to fall to his knees, but was able to keep his stance. Yuffie looked at Vincent. Confusion in her eyes, she was going to ask him, but he shook his head.
"Cid!" Yuffie yelled into the phone, "Pick us up! Were right near the bridge, no questions, just do it!" She hung up again and looked at Cloud.
"Well that was very demanding, think hell do it?" Tifa asked.
"I dont know, but we have no choice, well have to hope he does." Cloud said.
"Yea like thats gonna help us right now." Yuffie said annoyed, still hurting from the fight with the wolves. Tifa pulled out a sphere exactly like Yuffies fire materia. Tifa summoned her cure materia on her. Yuffie felt this warm tingling sensation though out her body as her cuts and bruises disappeared. Tifa did the same for Vincent as they heard an engine roaring northwest of them. Every one turned to look at the noise and noticed it was the Sierra. It lowered it altitude and they all noticed that there was three other figures beside Shera on the deck. Cloud was the first to get on the ship as the ladder came near them. Tifa followed suite pushing her long brown hair out of her face. Yuffie looked up and was going to let Vincent go first, but he showed no signs of moving. Shrugging it off it she started to climb the ladder after Tifa.
Yuffie was pulled all the way up by her favorite story telling man. She smiled as he looked at her angrily.
"What in the world did you get yoself into brat?" The big buffed dark skinned man said ready to kill the young Wutaian girl, who was always one to get into trouble.
"I didnt do anything!" Yuffie yelled as the Sierra turned headed towards Rocket Town. Barret looked at her surprised. At least this time she didnt have anything to throw up. She felt extremely dizzy as she passed the red cat-like beast lying near the door. It swished its tail back and forth as it raised it head.
"Hello Yuffie, What seems to be the problem, Cid told us you had an urgent message for us all." Red XIII said as he went to stand. Yuffie shook her hand as she passed him up and bent under the railing.
"Yuffies fiance has overthrown her father and Cait Sith, well rather Reeve, said that he is also planning on waging war on AVALANCHE, although, he doesnt know whether this is true or not." Vincent said with his usual emotionless voice, although he stressed the fiance part.
"As if! Im not marrying that bone headed bastard! And since he plans to wage war on us, well then he has something comin at him, and I dont think hell like it!" Yuffie said as she held her stomach and faced the beast and man. Tifa came up behind Vincent.
"Well Yuffie, you dont look very threatening in the state you in right now, come on, I got some medicine for you."
"Im fine, were almost neat Rocket Town anyways. Cloud gonna go over whats going on and what were going to do?" Yuffie asked as she grabbed the railing and lifted her self up. Tifa nodded as the plane came to a slow speed.
"Everyone get your behinds in the meeting room now! Spike wants to speak with us!" Cid yelled over the intercom that went through out the whole plane. Yuffie ran into the stair well, rounded the corner and into the meeting room. Everyone else followed suit.
"Well what we got our selves into this time Spike?" Cid asked as he sat back in his chair.
"We didnt do anything; Emperor Auron has waged war on AVALANCHE." The miniature gray and white cat that belonged to Reeve said. Yuffie cleared her throat.
"He is not Emperor; hes a fake man who has no sense and hes old and fat!" Yuffie yelled at Caith Siths words. They all looked at her. Of course she was infuriated but her words werent exactly clever. She looked away with a humph and the meeting continued.
"Well we have to go to Wutai, Auron is obviously up to something more if he wants to get rid of us first." Cloud said as he stood in front of everyone. They all agreed with that idea. They had finally came up with a plan to just capture Auron and put him away, plus it was a way to get Yuffie her freedom from being taken away by marriage.
"Okay so were going to go with the calm, peaceful type of action, everyone agree?" Cloud asked as he looked at everyone nodding.
"Uh no! Why cant we just charge in and beat him with an ugly stick?" Yuffie yelled, "I mean Wutai would never completely go against me and my father. Also, this is embarrassing to say, but what army does Wutai have? I live in a tourist attraction country."
"Well if we all agree, lets mosey." Cloud said ignoring Yuffies comment about the stick. She rolled her eyes.
"Well I hope I get to him first, and then Ill whack him with the stick." Yuffie said as she leaned back in the chair casually. As she did so the chair fell back and she came down with it. Everyones attention was turned to her as she swiftly stood.
"Are we almost at Wutai?" Yuffie asked as if she hadnt just fell off her chair. They all just continued to stare at her, Tifa let out a nervous laugh.
"Damn brat, calm down, you aint gonna do a thing unless we agree. And ya, we are almost at Wutai." Cid said as he got out of his chair and walked out the door.
"Oh shut up!" Yuffie said as she walked out of the meeting room and back to the deck. She saw the ocean again and leaned over the railing.
"Yuffie will you be able to fight your people if they are to attack you?" Yuffie heard Vincents deep alluring voice ask her. She turned to look at him; she didnt really know the answer.
"If I have to, then I will," Yuffie said as she looked towards Wutai.
"I see Will you be okay to fight? You havent slept in a day." Vincent asked as he stared out into the sea.
"Ill be fine, thanks for asking." Yuffie answered as she turned to look at him. "Why are you so worried anyways? No offense."
"Yuffie... Why didnt you just go along with the marriage, it wouldnt have lead it war." Vincent said ignoring her question.
"Eh, marriage is really pointless if you dont love the person, plus it wasnt doing much for the country, it was just for a tradition Auron was a noble in the country; it didnt help Wutai at all. Thats why I didnt see the point of marrying someone I dont love or wont help my country any." Vincent nodded and didnt question her farther.
Soon enough the ship was over Wutai and everyone prepared to jump ship. As they all walked into the town, it was deathly quite.
"Conspiracy!" Yuffie whispered to Vincent as she walked next to him. None of them said anything to her as they continued through the town.

"Okay, were going too spilt up; itll go by faster, call us if there are any problems." Was the last thing Cloud had told them before they spilt up. Yuffie was about to tell Vincent something before they heard gunfire and saw magic being summoned all around them. Suddenly before Vincent could even react, Yuffie and he were surrounded by guards and soldiers. Guns pointed right at their face, they had no choice but to surrender.
"Why does no one listen to me when I say things are a conspiracy?" Yuffie thought to herself. Vincent and she were soon taken in to a room where Emperor Auron was standing in front of them. Yuffie groaned.
"Well look who it is, AVALANCHE, and the ex-princess of Wutai." Auron said as he started to laugh. Yuffie tried to dive for him, but it was no use, the ropes were tied to tight. The soldier behind her, hit her head with the end of his rifle, knocking her unconscious.

Godo Kisaragi pondered everything in his head. He sighed, Yuffie wouldnt show. She wasnt one to show up for something she didnt agree with. She would run away, so it was time to call the Guardians and the guards. He called the ones outside his room. Quickly coming in, he informed them what was going to happen, and then left for Yuffie's room.
Opening the door, he was not at all surprised to find her not there and the window open.
"Have the Guardians been informed?" The answer was yes, and he nodded, he knew the guardians would only appear to be chasing Yuffie. They did not want Wutai to become what they thought, and knew, Auron would do to the Country they loved so much.
"Okay now!" Yuffie thought as she looked back at her country. "Where to go, where to go Maybe Cloud and Tifa? Nah too nosey, plus the whole 'let's mosey' thing was NOT working for me" Yuffie shuddered at the thought. "Barret, nah I hate his train story Red XIII is WAY to boring, Vincent is the last choice" Yuffie started running; her father would have already told the guards and everyone else to be looking for her. She was sure some people had already seen her. Coming closer to the mountain she raced up the steps. Luckily Wutai's people had carved steps into the mountain as a 'tradition'. She zigzagged all the way up to the top. She called Cid again. This time he answered.
"Brat? Whaddya want? I'm busy as h-"
Yuffie cut him off, "CID! I need you to give me a ride to Rocket Town Think you can pick me up pronto?"
"Whaddya in such a hurry for? You didnt go stealin' from people diddya?" Cid asked, his voice had a very heavy country accent.
"No, no its not that, I'm in Wutai, I wanna go and visit everyone! Can you pick me up?" Yuffie asked again in a hurry.
"I guess, I ain't got anything to do but test the High Wind's new engine, where do you want me to pick you up?" Cid asked, for the first time not cursing on the phone.
"Uh I'm gonna say at the top of the mountain, I'm sure you'll be able to see, hurry please!" Yuffie hit end before Cid could ask her anything. Yuffie continued to run up the steps, stopping every once in a while to catch her breath. She had finally reached the top, even if her shoes where a fashion trend, she could pretty much doing anything in them. She looked over at Wutai, and saw five guardians running towards the mountain.
"ARGH! Why cant I ever just LEAVE without people chasing me? I need a new job; maybe if I became a cop, then I would do the chasing!" At this she started laughing like a maniac, "Wait What am I thinking? Argh, forget it, come on CID!" She yelled at the ocean. Looking around for the ship, she heard growls behind.
"Ehh Oops." Yuffie squeaked.
Cid looked over and immediately saw land.
"Well I'll be darned, that is one fast engine." He said to no one in particular. Looking over at the moment, he saw a figure and about seven other ones surrounding it.
"Darn Brat! Why can't she stay out of trouble!" he barked at the scene before him. He took out his cell phone with a picture of a girl on it. Calling Yuffie he looked towards Wutai, and saw the other five figures as well. At this point, he couldnt take it anymore; many, many colorful words came out of his mouth. Listening to the ringing he waited for her to answer, impatiently of course.
"Hello?" he heard Yuffie whisper as she picked up her phone.
"Brat what the hell did I tell you?! I ain't gonna get into any of this s-"
"Cid!" Yuffie yelled in a hushed whisper if that was even possible, "I can't talk right now, but I swear I didnt do anything, just pick me up!" Cid looked at the scene, very, very mad.
"Brat, you're gonna hafta pull a Tifa, now hurry up and get your-" The phone called ended as Yuffie hung up. Letting out some more colorful words, Cid told Shera to get the rope ready for Yuffie. She nodded and ran off once again.
After Yuffie hung up she looked at her current situation. Seven of them, one of her, her Conformer, and it was a long ranged weapon such a slight advantage. She heard Sierra's engines coming closer. Deciding it was time, she threw her Conformer at the seven wolves. She turned and ran. Running towards the edge of the mountain she heard the cry of pain from the wolves. Turning her heard she looked and saw her conformer coming back at her. She jumped off the mountain, caught her conformer, and saw the Sierra raise her altitude. Catching a glimpse of Shera before she fell farther down, she saw the rope in front of her. Still holding her bag, she reached out and caught the rope, just about twenty feet before it ended. She strapped her conformer to her back and checked her arm to see if it was okay.
Who'd of thought Yuffie could actually do the same thing Tifa did in a moment of desperation? She sure didnt. Her arm was hurting badly; although it wouldve been worse had she not had her gloves on. Since her arm wasnt too badly injured she started to climb up the rope. Luckily she had skill in this sort of thing and was able to climb quickly as she ignored the pain in her arm. As she reached the top of the rope, she felt someone help her. She gladly accepted the help and was brought up to the deck of Sierra. She looked up and saw Shera smiling.
"Hey, Yuffie! Just Rocket Town correct?" Shera asked as she held her hair back from her face.
Actually I was thinking the mountains near R.T? Yuffie asked, as she quickly started to feel sick.
"Lord Kisaragi, Yuffie was able to get away, unharmed." One of the guardians informed Godo. He nodded happiness within him.
"No one is to know about this, we could not catch her. That is what we are to tell the others." Godo said to all his Guardians. 'It's all up to you now Yuffie" Godo thought as he looked out towards the setting sun.
Yuffie was at the edge of the High Wind, throwing up her breakfast, and lunch. Shera looked at her knowingly. Yuffie sighed with relief as she noticed the land beneath her. Land was something she could handle, and for that she was happy, although it didnt stop her stomach from throwing up its contents. As the Sierra's engines slowed Yuffie felt less sick and was able to stand. She took out a water bottle that was half empty, from drinking it earlier that day. She took some in her mouth and rinsed out the disgusting taste from her 'great lunch'. Feeling enhanced about landing, she walked over to Shera who was looking at some of the controls.
"Hey, Shera! Could you remind Cid to drop me off near the mountains? I think hes slowing down, and were only at Rocket Town." Yuffie said sounding exhausted.
"Sure, I'll tell the Captain, you do have your restore materia though correct?" Shera asked before leaving.
"Yup, it's all nice-looking, round, and bright green!" Yuffie said displaying her bright green lustrous orb. Shera nodded and ran off towards the bridge.
"He said that would be fine, as long as you dont get yourself killed." Shera said plainly. Yuffie nodded.
"Thanks Shera, tell the sexist man I said thanks." Yuffie said as the High Wind sped past Rocket Town at a good speed and altitude for Yuffie. He stopped near the mountains, and Yuffie jumped over the railing of Sierra. She looked at the mountains ahead of her.
"Talk about a long way 'home'." Yuffie thought as she looked around the curves it took. She started jogging at a slow pace as she knew the terrain fairly well. The place still gave her the creeps. It was bad enough when Cloud told her what Shinra had done with the experiments; some things are better left unsaid. She started running faster as she wanted to cross the reactor before dark. There was almost no sun left, but she was sure she could make it to the bridge before it was completely dark. Surprisingly there were no monsters to fight. Yuffie thought maybe it was some conspiracy, the monsters were sure to come out.
Yuffie went though a cave in order to get to the other side. It was pitch dark, she couldnt see anything. She looked for her fire materia. She saw another green shimmering sphere and tried it. For a moment a modest shot of fire came out of her hand. She smiled in the dark as she lighted it again, this time, she kept it on. As she looked in front of her she saw crimson eyes looking at her. She screamed her fire lighting up higher.
"AHH! HOT, HOT, HOT, VERY HOT!" She yelled as she tried to stop the fire from burning her. She saw the figure summon his ice as it started to cool her.
"Ohhhh okkkk now that is, is is co-co-coooolddd!!" Yuffie stuttered as she felt the ice on her legs. She got up, and quickly summoned her fire, this time, keeping it farther away, and taking out her conformer.
"Whos there?" Yuffie asked ignoring what had happened moments before. Looking behind the fire, she saw a very familiar face. Looking back into the eyes of Vincent Valentine, she smiled.
"HEYYY VINCENT!" she yelled as she made the fire go away and ran up to him. She was about to hug him, but Vincent wasnt very social, and he didnt like contact with others. She stopped and waved instead. Vincent stood there, not moving, not that he could see her either. She really couldnt see his face, so she re-summoned her fire materia to a low level.
"Yuffie," Vincent asked as he stared at her, not moving his gaze, "what are you doing here?"
"Yeaa, about that" Yuffie shifted her weight to her other leg, "I was wondering if I could stay with you!" She was back to her happy go lucky self as she asked her question. Vincent was silent for a moment as he answered her question with a simple yes.
Yuffie jumped up and down, she was right, he didnt ask any questions. Unless maybe he knew? Nah, if Vincent was anti social, he wouldnt be paying attention to what was happening in Wutai. Ignoring it, she passed up Vincent.
"Hey what are you doing out here? Its already night time!" Yuffie said as she turned to face Vincent with a suspicious glare.
"That does not concern you Yuffie, why are you here? Cid called said you were in the mountains." Vincent said as he turned to face her.
'Spoke to soon' Yuffie thought as her smiled returned to her.
"I just wanted to see everyone! I thought that maybe since Cid was first and last, Id speed on through to the rest of you, plus Cid is a very sexist man, he doesnt like women, I dont like him either so its all good" Yuffie said, going off subject for a minute. Vincent stared at her for a moment. He knew she was lying, but he didnt press it any further. He wanted to make sure she was okay. Everyone thought Vincent was atoning for his sins like he was when he first met them, but that was a lie. He had finished long ago. Now all that was left of his memories were the demons in his mind.
"Very well, Yuffie, we must go, Im guessing your magic has gone down?" Vincent asked as he walked past her. Nodding Yuffie ran up to him. She saw a hint of light ahead of her. Putting her fire materia away, she noticed the mako in the next part of the cave. Enchanted by its bright glowing blue-green light she stopped and stared.
"Yuffie, come." Vincent said, passing the mako that reminded him so much of his beloved Lucrecia. Yuffie nodded, tearing her eyes from the well-known scene. Going out of the cave she noticed the moon was out.
"Hey! Are we stopping? Or are we gonna go all the way to the mansion?" Yuffie asked as she looked down towards the bridge, that happened to be missing steps, and made of aged wood. Vincent nodded and continued to go down the mountain.
"Itd be faster if we just jumped down." Yuffie said backing up towards the wall.
"Itd be faster to our deaths if we did that." Vincent answered stopping to look at her.
"Oh Vincent live a little." Yuffie said as she ran forward towards the edge. Vincent looked as she went running. Running to the edge of the mountain as well, he followed Yuffie. Sure she was ninja, but the jump was a lengthy way down, he wasnt sure if her body would be able to handle the impact of the force when she fell toward the ground, no matter how she landed.
Yuffie Vincent said as he was behind her, falling through the air.
"Vincent if you didnt want to jump, you shouldnt have jumped!" Yuffie yelled, the ground coming closer to them. Vincent was somehow able to reach Yuffie before she actually hit the ground. Her face was inches from the actual floor.
"O.k. so you were right put me down? Please?" Yuffie said as she was still shaken by her suicidal stunt. Vincent dropped her as she fell on the ground. Yuffie mumbled some colorful words as she looked at him. Standing up, she readjusted the bag on her arm. Walking past him she went on the bridge and started walking annoyed. Vincent looked at her, no emotion in his eyes. Yuffie looked ahead and noticed growls in front of her.
"I KNEW IT!" Yuffie screamed as she pulled out her conformer cutting the rope while she pulled it out. Vincent was about ready to kill this girl on his own. Yuffie let out a scream as she lost her balance and started to fall down the bridge, towards the ground, which only moments before almost killed her. Vincent rushed up to her, grabbed her and ran across the bridge before it made him fall as well. Pulling out his Death Penalty he shot all the wolves in their heads and put Yuffie down. She didnt look at him as she threw her bag down and her conformer at them. A wolf came at her that Vincent had somehow missed. She ducked and before the wolf could attack her, he slid off the mountaintaking her bag with her.
"YOU DUMB BRAINLESS WOLF!! I HATE YOU!! ALL OF YOU!" Yuffie screamed as she threw her conformer again. A few hours later, both Yuffie and Vincent were exhausted. The sun was starting to rise again. Yuffie freaked. She didnt think it had been that much time since she had been running though the mountains.
"I HAVENT SLEPT IN HOURS, YOU STUPID WOLVES!" she yelled again as she threw her conformer once more.
"Yuffie?" a female voiced called out from the path in front of them. Yuffie turned and saw Tifa. She smiled and ran towards her. Hugging for a brief moment Tifa looked at Yuffie confused.
"You dont know?" Tifa asked looking at her confused still.
"Know what?" Yuffie said as she heard a few more shots and cries of pain around her.
"Your father They announced it on the news?" Tifa stopped every once in a while to see if Yuffie knew what she was talking about.
"What about my dad?" Yuffie asked worried.
"They said a man named Auron has taken over Wutai. His wife left the throne, he over threw your father!" Tifa said still confused on how Yuffie didnt know this.
"Over threw my father? HOW?!" Yuffie said looking in the direction Wutai was in. Cloud and Vincent walked over to the two women.
"So Yuffie What are you going to do?" Cloud asked, he was obviously not very intelligent, yet he was the one who lead them all during the fighting. Yuffie looked at him as if he was stupid.
"Im going to Wutai, that dumb stupid idiot has no right to do that! We arent getting married for at least another month!" Yuffie yelled as she pulled out her cell phone again. Dialing Cids number, she waited patientlyonly to hide the anger inside her. No one noticed Vincents expression as they all thought about something to do. It was as if he arguing with himself. Which was half right, he was debating with his demon. It called himself Chaos and all of AVALANCHE knew it was not a good demon. For a moment Vincent fell ready to fall to his knees, but was able to keep his stance. Yuffie looked at Vincent. Confusion in her eyes, she was going to ask him, but he shook his head.
"Cid!" Yuffie yelled into the phone, "Pick us up! Were right near the bridge, no questions, just do it!" She hung up again and looked at Cloud.
"Well that was very demanding, think hell do it?" Tifa asked.
"I dont know, but we have no choice, well have to hope he does." Cloud said.
"Yea like thats gonna help us right now." Yuffie said annoyed, still hurting from the fight with the wolves. Tifa pulled out a sphere exactly like Yuffies fire materia. Tifa summoned her cure materia on her. Yuffie felt this warm tingling sensation though out her body as her cuts and bruises disappeared. Tifa did the same for Vincent as they heard an engine roaring northwest of them. Every one turned to look at the noise and noticed it was the Sierra. It lowered it altitude and they all noticed that there was three other figures beside Shera on the deck. Cloud was the first to get on the ship as the ladder came near them. Tifa followed suite pushing her long brown hair out of her face. Yuffie looked up and was going to let Vincent go first, but he showed no signs of moving. Shrugging it off it she started to climb the ladder after Tifa.
Yuffie was pulled all the way up by her favorite story telling man. She smiled as he looked at her angrily.
"What in the world did you get yoself into brat?" The big buffed dark skinned man said ready to kill the young Wutaian girl, who was always one to get into trouble.
"I didnt do anything!" Yuffie yelled as the Sierra turned headed towards Rocket Town. Barret looked at her surprised. At least this time she didnt have anything to throw up. She felt extremely dizzy as she passed the red cat-like beast lying near the door. It swished its tail back and forth as it raised it head.
"Hello Yuffie, What seems to be the problem, Cid told us you had an urgent message for us all." Red XIII said as he went to stand. Yuffie shook her hand as she passed him up and bent under the railing.
"Yuffies fiance has overthrown her father and Cait Sith, well rather Reeve, said that he is also planning on waging war on AVALANCHE, although, he doesnt know whether this is true or not." Vincent said with his usual emotionless voice, although he stressed the fiance part.
"As if! Im not marrying that bone headed bastard! And since he plans to wage war on us, well then he has something comin at him, and I dont think hell like it!" Yuffie said as she held her stomach and faced the beast and man. Tifa came up behind Vincent.
"Well Yuffie, you dont look very threatening in the state you in right now, come on, I got some medicine for you."
"Im fine, were almost neat Rocket Town anyways. Cloud gonna go over whats going on and what were going to do?" Yuffie asked as she grabbed the railing and lifted her self up. Tifa nodded as the plane came to a slow speed.
"Everyone get your behinds in the meeting room now! Spike wants to speak with us!" Cid yelled over the intercom that went through out the whole plane. Yuffie ran into the stair well, rounded the corner and into the meeting room. Everyone else followed suit.
"Well what we got our selves into this time Spike?" Cid asked as he sat back in his chair.
"We didnt do anything; Emperor Auron has waged war on AVALANCHE." The miniature gray and white cat that belonged to Reeve said. Yuffie cleared her throat.
"He is not Emperor; hes a fake man who has no sense and hes old and fat!" Yuffie yelled at Caith Siths words. They all looked at her. Of course she was infuriated but her words werent exactly clever. She looked away with a humph and the meeting continued.
"Well we have to go to Wutai, Auron is obviously up to something more if he wants to get rid of us first." Cloud said as he stood in front of everyone. They all agreed with that idea. They had finally came up with a plan to just capture Auron and put him away, plus it was a way to get Yuffie her freedom from being taken away by marriage.
"Okay so were going to go with the calm, peaceful type of action, everyone agree?" Cloud asked as he looked at everyone nodding.
"Uh no! Why cant we just charge in and beat him with an ugly stick?" Yuffie yelled, "I mean Wutai would never completely go against me and my father. Also, this is embarrassing to say, but what army does Wutai have? I live in a tourist attraction country."
"Well if we all agree, lets mosey." Cloud said ignoring Yuffies comment about the stick. She rolled her eyes.
"Well I hope I get to him first, and then Ill whack him with the stick." Yuffie said as she leaned back in the chair casually. As she did so the chair fell back and she came down with it. Everyones attention was turned to her as she swiftly stood.
"Are we almost at Wutai?" Yuffie asked as if she hadnt just fell off her chair. They all just continued to stare at her, Tifa let out a nervous laugh.
"Damn brat, calm down, you aint gonna do a thing unless we agree. And ya, we are almost at Wutai." Cid said as he got out of his chair and walked out the door.
"Oh shut up!" Yuffie said as she walked out of the meeting room and back to the deck. She saw the ocean again and leaned over the railing.
"Yuffie will you be able to fight your people if they are to attack you?" Yuffie heard Vincents deep alluring voice ask her. She turned to look at him; she didnt really know the answer.
"If I have to, then I will," Yuffie said as she looked towards Wutai.
"I see Will you be okay to fight? You havent slept in a day." Vincent asked as he stared out into the sea.
"Ill be fine, thanks for asking." Yuffie answered as she turned to look at him. "Why are you so worried anyways? No offense."
"Yuffie... Why didnt you just go along with the marriage, it wouldnt have lead it war." Vincent said ignoring her question.
"Eh, marriage is really pointless if you dont love the person, plus it wasnt doing much for the country, it was just for a tradition Auron was a noble in the country; it didnt help Wutai at all. Thats why I didnt see the point of marrying someone I dont love or wont help my country any." Vincent nodded and didnt question her farther.
Soon enough the ship was over Wutai and everyone prepared to jump ship. As they all walked into the town, it was deathly quite.
"Conspiracy!" Yuffie whispered to Vincent as she walked next to him. None of them said anything to her as they continued through the town.
Yuffie rolled her eyes as the next moment it was her and Vincent walking down the street alone. Cloud comes up with the weirdest ideas.
"Okay, were going too spilt up; itll go by faster, call us if there are any problems." Was the last thing Cloud had told them before they spilt up. Yuffie was about to tell Vincent something before they heard gunfire and saw magic being summoned all around them. Suddenly before Vincent could even react, Yuffie and he were surrounded by guards and soldiers. Guns pointed right at their face, they had no choice but to surrender.
"Why does no one listen to me when I say things are a conspiracy?" Yuffie thought to herself. Vincent and she were soon taken in to a room where Emperor Auron was standing in front of them. Yuffie groaned.
"Well look who it is, AVALANCHE, and the ex-princess of Wutai." Auron said as he started to laugh. Yuffie tried to dive for him, but it was no use, the ropes were tied to tight. The soldier behind her, hit her head with the end of his rifle, knocking her unconscious.
She woke up in the middle of the town. She looked around and saw she was kneeling before Auron. Vincent was at her side, looking at Auron with hatred.
"Well look whos awake, Princess nice of you to join us." Auron said.

Yuffie reached down towards her shoe and pulled out a dagger. She had no idea where the rest of the others were so she had no choice. Cutting the rope she threw the knife at Auron who was able to dodge it. Using her speed and agility, she was able to untie Vincent as they jumped up into the buildings, but were stopped by hidden soldiers. Vincent jumped away with Yuffie in his grasp. They ran into a building and tried to find anything that they could use as a weapon. Vincent had a gun stashed somewhere under his cape. As he called for Yuffie, she didnt reply. He looked out the window and saw Yuffie struggling with a soldier.
She was placed in front of Auron again and he raised his sword. Vincent ran out of the building towards them. Aurons sword was brought down towards Yuffies head, just as Vincents gun fired.
"Vincent..." Yuffie whispered as she closed her eyes tightly.
The once pink cherry Blossoms were stained a dark crimson red.
