On our way to Biology, I was taking another look at Frank's schedule.
"Wow. You take 11th grade math?" I asked, mostly to myself, shocked. I looked at him with wide eyes.
"Yeah," he replied, blushing, with a small smile.
"Cool. I was supposed to be in a higher math class, but that never happened." I stared into his hazel eyes for a few seconds before focusing back on his schedule.
"Oh, that sucks."
"Not really. I mean, I heard it's really hard and that alot of people who are taking it are failing." I made myself stop talking; I felt like I was rambling. "Anyways, here's biology. Let's go!"
And that's how the day went. I'd show him to his classes and we'd talk on the way to them.

I got home after school and heard voices from the dining room. I figured my dad was having a meeting of some sort, being a lawyer and all, but I kicked off my shoes and went to greet them anyways.
Whoa. That's not anyone my dad knows. Whoa. Isn't that Frank? I thought as I took a spot next to my dad, who was rambling on about something that sounded uninteresting.
"Dad..." I said.
"Oh, hi honey! This boy came here just a little while ago looking for you, so I told him he could stay until you got back," my father explained.
"Wow, I'm surprised you didn't lose your mind," I said to Frank with a small smile. He just giggled.
"HEY! I'm not that bad. Anyways, appearently his family bought that house that's about a block and a half away."
"How ironic that you live so close," I muttered a little too loudly. My dad nudged me in the arm and a sign to stop talking; he must've heard my comment.
"I don't mean it in a bad way, jeeze."
My dad pretty much ignored my comment and pulled out his laptop, switching it on and doing his usual business thing.
"Okay, you two go find something else to do. I have stuff to do," my dad said seriously. I nodded and motioned for Frank to follow me.
"Well...wanna go on a walk?" I suggested.
"Sure," Frank replied with a smile.
"Okay. Dad we're gonna go on a walk!" I yelled.
"Yup."

Only a few minutes down the block and we were already into a good conversation. And we were doing 20 questions. Well more like 100 questions.
"How did you know where I lived?" I asked, zipping up my hoddie more.
"Phonebook. It wasn't hard to find your address, seeing as how you're the only Moretti in there," he replied, smirking.
"That makes sense."
We walked in silence for a few minutes before I thought of more questions to ask.
"So, what city did you live in before Newark?" I asked, looking at the ground.
"Trenton," he asnwered. By the tone of his voice, it sounded like it wasn't that great living there.
"Do you like Newark better?"
"I don't know. I guess. It's still hell wherever I live."
His response actually took me by surprise.
"Why?" I looked up at him, expectant.
"Just...because. I'd rather not talk about it now."
"Oh. Okay."
For some reason I felt hurt that he wouldn't tell me. I don't know why, though. I mean, we'd just met, so we didn't really know each other that well, and I assumed he was probably waiting until we were better friends.
"Anyways," Frank said suddenly, heading into an abandoned park and taking a seat on a swing. "How long have you lived in Newark?"
"For as long as I can remeber," I replied, sitting on the one next to him.
"That's cool. How are your grades and stuff?"
"I'm pretty msart I guess. I mean, I've been on 1st honor roll since like..4th grade."
"Wow."
Once again we were silent; the only thing that could be heard was the creak of the swings.
"Oh shit," Frank said semi-angrily. I looked at him.
"What?"
"I have to get home or else I'm going to be in alot of trouble." He stood up and shoved his phone back into his pocket.
"Oh, alright. Do you want a ride?" I hopped of the swing and we began to exit the park.
"No, that's alright. I'll see you tomorrow, though," he reasuured me as he walked off.
"Okay," I said loudly, but he was already too far away to hear.
Put your hands in the air and don't make a sound.
But don't get the wrong idea.
We're gonna shoot you. =>
