"This is insane. You know that, right?" Henry asked as he threw a wrench to the ground.

"Why do you think I asked you to fix it?" I retorted as I handed him a smaller wrench and slumped against my Skyline R34 GT-R.

This couldn't possibly be the end of my car. I had only just gotten new parts for it, expensive parts mind you for a car that was relatively new to the racing world. I was not going to give up this easily. Henry could fix it and when he did I would make it faster. Just a few more hours of adjustments and I could get it to do a quarter mile in 9 seconds. On the other hand if I didn't my whole life would go up in smoke.

Flashback To Last Week:
"I don't know Mia, there is something wrong with her torque,"
"Hey, the computer is telling me she's fine OK," Mia said as she turned her laptop toward me to show me the Skylines stats.
"Not OK. I think I know my car more than your computer does," I said as I looked around the brightly lit but musty underground parking lot we were in. California was just too muggy, especially when you were in garage's like this with no proper air circulation.
Mia huffed, "Ya know you should be keeping a low profile after your last race anyway. Not preparing for another," She said giving me a look of distain.
"Hey, that cop came out of nowhere. And who was on the com? Ronny. We both know he was supposed to tell me when it was safe, not get me trapped." I told her getting a little irritated just thinking about it.
"Whatever, I'll go get Henry to take a look if it makes you feel any better."
"Hey, Sage!" A familiar voice yelled.
I turned around to see an old friend.
"Cameron! Pumpkins and potatoes when did you get here?" I asked running a few paces and giving him a tight hug.
Cameron Marcos was the greatest friend and big brother I could ever ask for. He was an amazing person but had also been a recluse hiding in Whistler for the past few weeks.
"Just flew in last night. The holiday in Whistler was kick ass. You should have been there we got new powder everyday," He said making sure to rub it in.
"You know I would have come if it weren't for my mom. Since when do you call running from the law a "holiday," huh?" I asked jokingly.
"Running from the law becomes a "holiday" when you get 20 hot snow bunnies numbers at a wicked sweet cabin. Anyway, how's the racing been?" He asked nonchalantly.
"Oh you missed one hell of a raid," I told him laughing a little.
"Man, I always miss the good stuff." He said slouching, hands in pocket's, with a bummed look on his face.
"This coming from the guy who's trained with Shaun White?" I said playfully.
"OK so my life is pretty eventful, but it doesn't involve nearly hitting a cop car during a race," He said eyeing me and crossing his arms as if I had just done something very naughty that he wasn't proud of.
"You heard already?" I asked surprisingly.
"Well, stuff like that gets around fast. And what's this I hear about you racing against Ronny Tran?" He asked using his slightly worried voice.
"Wow, word does get around fast. After the last stunt he pulled I just told him he could eat my exhaust and he took it as a challenge. Don't worry I can handle him," I told Cameron coolly.
"All right. Look, I'll check ya later I have some stuff I have to do. Garage at seven?" He said as he made his way out of the underground parking lot.
"Garage at seven, see ya later." I yelled back, listening to my voice echo.
"Was that Cam?" Henry asked coming towards me with his toolbox.
"Sure was. He'll be at the garage tonight." I told him as I walked back to my car.
"Lucky bastard. I swear he wins everything. All those contests and," Henry huffed and finished. "scratch its." He said disapprovingly while shaking his head back and forth.
Within hours the few remaining cars had left the parking lot and the actual racers and onlookers started coming in. This was possibly the only parking garage with no cameras in it. That was my cue. I got into my car as Mia and Henry did the same. Friday's were good nights to race but it was our time to hangout and tune up our cars if we felt like it.
It was a fairly short drive to the auto garage that Mias cousin owned. He bought the shop right out of trade school and was generous enough to let us use it after hours as long as we didn't break anything.
I saw Mia hop out of her car and unlock the garage doors for all of us to pull in. I drove in, turned off the engine, and got out of my car. No sooner had I gotten out before two other cars rolled up.
Mia walked over to me and said in a hushed voice, "You know whose car that is, right?"
I looked at her. "I think we both know exactly whose car that is."
Four figures shrouded in dark clothes walked away from the first car and towards us, as did the person from the second car. I recognized the first man before I even saw him. His car did the talking; a black Mitsubishi Eclipse GT with a body kit and silver/blue dragon along the side. He was into the 'show' effect and there was no doubt in my mind; Ronny Tran and his gang.
The second car was a white supra and although it didn't have the 'show' effect it had the upgraded horse power under the hood to go faster than say a mainstream Mercedes. I knew it to be Camerons'. This had been a relatively good day but I got a sudden knot in my stomach almost immediately. I knew this wasn't going to be good.
"Tran," I said as I took a step forward.
"Macalister," Ronny said as him and his gang of three Japanese cronies walked into the garage.
"What brings you here?" I asked trying to hold my cool as Henry and Cameron joined us.
"I thought you should know that I have a new challenge for you,"
"Ha, why? You're too chicken shit to actually race me?" I asked cockily.
"Come on use your head. You know my car is faster," He said smirking.
"Maybe you should use your head. It's the techniques a person has behind the wheel that makes a fast car and driver. Not just the parts," I said crossing my arms over my chest defensively and taking another step towards his so I was half a foot away from his face.
I was not going to let him intimidate me. Sure, why not let him underestimate me? It will only make my winning a race against him all the sweeter.
Trans bottom lip started to curl a little. I desperately tried to hold back my grin.
He held out a scratch piece of paper. I took it and opened it.
It read:
402 Nyberg Road
RB25 Mustang

I looked at him strangely.
"What's this?" I asked holding the paper up.
Mia took the paper and looked at it before passing it on to Cam and Henry.
"That's your challenge," He said pulling his hand from his pant pocket and pointing at the note.
"Let me get this straight. You're asking me to steal this car?" I asked questionably.
"Way to use your head Sage. Yes,"

"Right. Why on Earth would I do this?" I asked getting a little heated.
"Because it's your new challenge and if you pull it off you get that," He said as he turned a bit and nodded his head towards his Eclipse.
I knew that the consequences would be harsh if I were caught but I already knew what would happen if I didn't take his challenge. Ronny Tran, as much as I hated to admit it is powerful and his father has too many connections. If this man wanted to eliminate my existence, he could do it and get off without even a slap on the hand.
"Fine," I said through pursed lips and gritted teeth before asking, "And why this car?"
"Never mind why. Just do it tomorrow night. That should give you more than enough time to stake it out and get ready." He said as he and his posy walked back to Trans car.
"Whoa, Sage-" Mia started but was interrupted by Camerons hysterical rant. "THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA! I mean, are you nuts? I can't believe you're going to risk going to jail! They'll tri you as an adult you know?" He started pacing the garage and running his hand through his hair.
"Cameron, cool it will you! You don't think I've already thought about that? It was the only thing I could say. Who the hell in their right mind says "No, I won't." to Ronny Tran, huh?" I told him becoming equally as nervous as he was.
"Maybe we can get you out of town. Like what we did with Cam." Henry said trying to look for the positive side.
"No, the cops are easier to evade than the Tran family," I told him as I pulled over the table and chairs and sat down.
"I can't believe it," Mia said and paused before continuing, "Everything is going to fall apart, again."
Two year ago when we were fifteen we had started getting interested in racing. Only our friend Jacob was more than interested and started betting. He got too far in too fast and one thing led to another. Before he knew it he was practically operating a business and was caught in a raid during a race. There was too much evidence against him to keep him out of juvy. They'll be transferring him from juvinile hall to the state prison this year.
"We've got to do something we can't just sit here." Henry bawled.
"You're right. We have to do something. We have to go check out that car," I said as I fidgeted digging for my car keys from my pocket.
Mia shook her head in a disappointed fashion. "I cannot believe you're really going to boost that car."
