Emera's Point of View [slayer]
With every step that took me closer to my apartment, I regretted more and more letting Ethan come with me. I would have been able to carry El. It would have taken more work but I didn't really need Ethan.
I kept staring down at the concrete and when we stopped at an intersection, Ethan casually asked, "What are you thinking so hard about?"
I looked up at him and saw him staring at me curiously, as if trying to read me.
Haha. Can't get in though.
I smiled to myself from the thought and looked at Rachel in his arms. She looked pale and was starting to bruise, but otherwise, she would be fine.
I smirked up at him, "I'm regretting letting you come to my apartment. I actually would have been able to bring El to my apartment without your help."
Ethan just returned the smirk, "Why did you let me?"
"I have no idea. It's something about you." I told him while we crossed the intersection at the green light.
After the intersection, there was a fresh bakery at the corner and we were stopped by the mob leaving it. They looked curiously at El in Ethan's arms but kept going. I looked inside, through the huge window, at an old couple holding hands and smiled. "But there are rules. Can I ask you to listen and follow them, or do we stop our journey here?"
I gazed back up to Ethan and waited for his reply.
