Zach successfully went a two weeks without any confrontation with Patrick, which was mostly thanks to long hours searching for apartments and trying to get in contact with the ever busy Ms. Thurston. But a win is a win.
"That's it right there." Zach announced as she jabbed rapidly on the backseat window. Tavi smiled rolling her eyes as she made a turn into the parking lot of an apartment complex.
"Holly crap this place is big!" Tavi yelled as they entered the apartment.
They scrambled around looking at every nook and cranny in the sight. Zach and Tavi met up with each other in the living room, both happy with what they saw.
"I really like this place, it's huge."
"Yeah, me too."
"Pete!" Tavi called and waited patiently for him to arrive. "What do you think?"
" I think," he said wrapping his arms around her hips, "that you should stay at my house. We going to be there all summer working on our next album anyway."
"I'd love to, but I promised someone that she wouldn't have to stay long." She said motioning towards Zach.
"I can see you." She said opening a closet inspecting it closely.
"I understand." He said not trying to hide the disappointment in his voice.
A brand new season
Zach peeked at them; they both seemed disappointed. She sighed closing the door and slid next to them. "Look, I can see that you guys want to be together, so I'll just go back home."
"You sure?" Pete questioned, his voice perked slightly.
"Hun," Tavi said, "you don't have to, I can visit Pete."
"Yeah I'm sure, there's nothing here for me in this town. Besides, then we don't have to worry about rent anymore."
"Where will you stay?" She questioned with Zach's hands now in hers. "They'll be staying for another few months."
"With my parents, I haven't seen them in awhile. Fauve's assistant said she should be grounded by now. She has some stores in around the Chicago area; no need to worry." Zach smiled as Tavi and Pete looked at each other and grinned like fools.
"Zach, are you sure? I mean, I don't want you to feel like I'm pushing you out of my life or anything" She said, looking down at her shoes.
"Absolutely positive." Zach gave Tavi a smile.
"Darling, you simply are the greatest. I'm going to miss you like crazy." She said.
"No, you won't." Zach said as she watched Pete checking out something else in the corner.
"You'll be too busy with Mr. Wentz over there" Zach said, cocking her eyebrow.
"Oi, girl, shut up, will you?" Tavi said, a faint smirk playing on her lips.

Zach gathered her things, and smiled at her Tavi and Pete.
"I'm going to miss you guys so much." Zach said, tears gathering in her eyes.
"Aww, I'm going to miss you, too!" Tavi said, hugging Zach tightly, letting silent tears fall down her cheeks.
"Don't cry. I'm only going to be gone for a few months." Zach wiped away some of her own tears. She turned to face Pete.
"You better take care of her. If I hear she's being neglected, I'm going to come down here, and kill you!" Zach said, hugging Pete.
"Oh, I'll take good care of her!" Pete said, smirking at Tavi suggestively.
"Oh Peter!" Tavi said, slapping him on the arm, but smiling nonetheless.
"Well, I better go. I don't want to miss my flight." Zach said, giving them both their final hug.
"Remember, call me when you get there, and then call me lots!" Tavi said, crushing Zach for the last time.
"I will, Mother." Zach said, rolling her eyes.
"Good. Now get going before I change my mind." Tavi said, pushing her friend up the escalator.

But I'm not convinced
Soon Zach had a ticket in hand, her bags were checked, and with her organic venti Vanilla Creme and fruit salad in tow as she sat patiently waiting for the boarding call. She quietly hummed along with her K-5 as she flipped through her Z!nk magazine in search for the Fauve spread that was suppose to be in this months issue.
An hour later, the speakers echoed with a pleasant voice. "Attention to passengers of 116 to Chicago, Illinois, the flight has been cancelled due to hazardous weather. Please go to the ticket counter for a ticket for a later date. Sorry for the inconvenience." The woman repeated the information twice more before the semi-silence was restored.
A collected groan and snipe comments were exchanged between the passengers.
Are you serious? She thought to herself gritting her teeth. She sighed and did as the intercom directed and headed toward the ticket counter.

"Yeah mom." Zach said to her mom while she tried to maneuver and peer over the surrounding bushel of people. "It was cancelled; apparently there's a tornado near our route. I won't be there for another day or so." She flagged down Pete as she saw him pull up in his black SUV.
"Hey hun." Tavi said grabbing her bags and setting them aside to hug her. "Long time, no see?"
Zach faked silent laughed before redirecting her attention back to her mother.
"See ya soon, love you mom. Bye." Zach sighed pressing the end button and used her free hand to push her fringed bangs back.

Your heartless songs won't stick
"You're welcome to stay for as long as you like." Pete said reemerging after putting Zach's luggage into the trunk.
"Thanks."
While they were driving back to Pete's place, Tavi and Pete sat in the front, chatting happily, while Zach sat in the back, wallowing in her thoughts.
Great, that means I'm going to be stuck in Pete's house, which mean Patrick is more than likely going to be there! Zach gave a heavy sigh, and looked out the window.
"You're really happy to see us, aren't ya?" Tavi said sarcastically.
"Of course I am it's just I wanted to see my home." Zach sighed, trying to cover up her real reason of wanting to be as far away from Patrick as possible. Tavi looked at Zach, who stared right back at her.
"Are you telling me the truth?"
"Of course I am." Zach said flatly, showing that she didn't want to talk about it anymore.
"Alright" Tavi said, turning around to face the front. Finally at Pete's house, Zach lugged all her bags back into the house.
I don't ever want to see you again
"Wait, why are you still here?" Patrick greeted Zach with, looking at the bags in her hand. Zach simply glared at Patrick, who had realized what he had just said.
"Zach, I'm so sorry! Ididn'tmeanforittocomeoutlikethat! Ijustmeant" Patrick rambled quickly, following Zach up the stairs.
"Just shut up, Patrick!" Zach screamed at the top of her lungs, huffing up the stairs as quickly as she could. Patrick simply stood there on the stairs. He sighed, and went back downstairs, unsure of what just happened.
Zach sighed and walked back to the railing. Just because he's not her favorite person doesn't mean she has to start back where she was a few months ago.
"Pat," she called in a softer voice. He looked up at her with curiosity as he was unaccustomed to this tone of voice from her. "I know you didn't mean it like it came out and I didn't mean to exploded at you. Forgive me?" She asked, sounding genuine.
"Err... Sure." He said puzzled as she smiled before disappearing into the guest room. This was not the same Zach from a months ago. She had definitely matured. Feelings that went ignored for years were beginning to smolder yet again.
Crap... Pat huffed while heading back to whatsherface.
