::Even Angels Can Fall::3::A Criss Angel Romance::

Woo hoo. Another one! I love summer. Except for the fact that it is hot. Why can't summer be cold?

You hesitantly walked into your father's shop, trying to sneak in unnoticed. As soon as you got in the door, however, was the perfect time for your father to walk out of the back room.

"Laila Denai Starr! Where the hell have you been?!" You cringe. Your father always had that patronizing tone, even though you were almost 30.

"Sorry, dad. Long story. But, I brought someone along with me. I'm sure you-"

"Criss! How have you been?" Your father moved out from behind the counter to embrace Criss who laughed.

"I'm good, Zacharah. I seemed to have met your daughter that you kept telling me about, though." Zacharah pulled away from Criss and grinned at you.

"Has she given you much trouble? She's a spitfire."

The two men continued to talk, completely ignoring you. You started to get annoyed. 'Men, I swear. Hello! I'm still here!'

As if hearing you, your father turned to face you, holding a HUGE box that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. "Sorry, dear. Happy Birthday, Laila. Here, open it!"

You glare at the offending package and take it hesitantly, setting it on the counter. You father and Criss moved to stand on the opposite side as you as you started to unwrap it. You cast a wary eye on Zacharah. "This had better not be what I think it is, old man."
You finally opening it, revealing a gorgeous guitar. You gasp and trail your hair down the cherry neck, decorated with silver hearts for the fret markers.

The body itself was a dark blue with silver feathers painted over it. However, under the strings in the middle of the guitar was one lone bright pink star.

You squeak and dive over the counter, hugging your father. He laughs and kisses the top of your head. "So, I'm taking that you like it, then?"

You smile up at him and nod, pulling away. "Thank you, dad. It's amazing. And to think, you never used to know what to get me."

You father grins. "Well, you should thank Criss here for that."

You look between your father and Criss, drawing a blank. "What?"

"Criss picked it out about a month ago. Isn't it amazing, he only knew what I told him about you, and yet he had this custom made!"

As you turned to Criss, he grinned arrogantly. You narrowed your eyes at him. "How did you know what to get?"

His grin, if possible, got even wider. "Come on, now, sweetheart, I'm a magician. I can't give a way all my secrets, now can I?"
After an hour or so of talking, you decided to take the initative. "Hey, dad. Criss and I are going to go out to dinner. Do you want to come with?"

Your father checked the clock on the wall and grinned. "Sorry, Laila. I have a hot date tonight that I simply can not miss."

You roll your eyes at him and smile when Criss chuckles. "Alright, alright, old man. We better get going, though." You lean over and hug him, kissing him on the cheek. "I'll be back by the end of the week, as usual. Love you!"

After you say your goodbyes, you and Criss were walking down the street towards the diner. He looked at you and smiled. "I should have known that you were Zacharah's daughter."

You look at him. "Is that so? What makes it so obvious, Angel?"

He smiled softly at you and held open the door to the diner."Because your father is a great man, and well... nevermind."

You never did get your answer.

As you entered the hotel, some time later, you heard someone schreech and run at you. Criss grabbed your guitar before Naomi collided with you, knocking you onto the floor. "Laila! Laila! Laila!"

You struggle to sit up, pushing Naomi off of you. "Nao, what is your problem?"

She started to bounce excitedly on her heels. "I'm going to dinner with David Blaine! David Blaine! Can you believe it?" You didn't miss Criss's dark look, but you smield at her.

"Really? How'd you meet him?" You lead her away from Criss, knowing full well about the rivalry between Blaine and himself. You shot him a mournful apologetic glance as Naomi shot into her sotry about a mall and something or other. He smiled and gestured that he was going upstairs. You nodded and mouthed that you'd be there soon.

"Laila, are you listening?" You start and look at her.

"Of course, Nao. Why don't we go and get you dresed up for your date?"

After an hour of getting Naomi dressed and seeing her off, you walk up the stairs to Criss' room. You saw that the door was slightly open, but stop short when you heard Criss speak angrily.

"No, I don't care, JoAnn... NO! I'm done, the papers are though... yes, there is someone else... names, Laila if you must know... yes, goodbye."

You wait a minute silently before walking into the room to see Criss with his face buried in his hands. You walk over silently and sit down next to him, rubbing his back.

"How much did you hear?" He asked, his voice hoarse.

You cringe, but keep rubbing his back, soothing him. "Just the very end, Criss. Why don't you rest? I'll go stay with Dimitra, I'm sure Naomi won't be hom..-!"

You were silenced with Criss crushed his lips on yours.
You gasp and lean back, but Cirss places his hand on the back of your head gently, twirling his fingers through your hair comfortingly. You sigh and melt into the kiss, but soon Criss pulls back.

He smiles hesitantly at you, still running his hands through your hair. You lean on his shoulder and he smiles against your cheek. "Sorry, but I've been wanting to do that all night."

You lift you head and smile shyly. "It's ok, I wanted it, too."

He smiles, placing his forehead against yours. "Laila, will you do me the honor of being by girlfriend?"
Yes, I know. I'm bad. But, I have to do something to keep you coming back!
