The plane ride wasn't so terrible. I mostly slept the time away, which happens to be what I'm doing now.
I was unexpectedly brought out of my slumber by the flight attendant.
"Miss, we are about to land so you might want to fasten your seat belt," the short petite flight attendant says while making sure that other people are alert and ready to land.
I simply nod my head and do what I'm told. Once I have all my small things in my shoulder bag, such as my mp3 player, a magazine I had bought while waiting for my plane and my poetry book, I turn my attention to window beside me. I was lucky enough that the airline still had a few window seats left and that I had gotten one when I did.
The view outside is so amazing, breathtakingly beautiful. The bustling streets of the city contrasts with the calm, peaceful feeling of the countryside so perfectly that it seems the two are unaware of each other.
Not too long after I was notified of us landing, we landed. I made my way to pick my bags to the pick-up luggage area trying my best not to get myself killed by all the business men and women coming and going. As I was getting my things, I felt a gentle tap on my shoulder and turned around. I then came face to face with my grandma, who I hadn't seen since I was just a child, and hugged her neck happy to see her.
"Grandma I missed you so much! I'm so glad to see you." I exclaim with a huge smile on my face while letting go of her to get the rest of my things.
"I'm glad to see you too, now lets get your stuff and get out before we get trampled." She says while chuckling.
"So, do you want to stay at my house for a little while before going to the university or just go straight there and get all settled in?" She asks, her accent very noticeable, while we made our way to her black Grand Am. One thing that I always loved about her was that even though she maybe old she still had the soul of a young woman in here twenties or thirties.
I thought about it for a moment before say, "I think it would be better if I go to the university and unpack." She simply nods as she puts my stuff in her car. And, after a few minutes of watching objects pass by, I then feel into a light slumber. Trust me, it was a long flight and, plus, the time difference adds up.
After what seemed to be an hour or so, I wake up to Grandma shaking me. I sit up in the passenger seat and wipe the sleep from my eyes. The University was huge. It had a beautiful garden off to the side where students could study or do whatever they wanted. In the front, it had an enormous fountain that sits in before the main entrance, or what I assume to be the main entrance. The building itself was made up of bricks, that were probably about the size of my head, and concrete, or some other material.
"Well, we're here, deary. Do you need any help with toting your things to your dorm?" Grandma says as she pops the trunk to her car open.
Smiling, I say, "No, I think I can handle it. Thanks anyways, Grandma."
She returns the smile saying, "Oh, alright. Just give me a call once you're all settled in."
Nodding, I get out of the car, and walk to the back of the car to get my things. I didn't have very many things. The only things are just my clothes, a few pairs of shoes, and some things that could help keep me from being bored. Once I had everything, I go to the driver's side of the car to tell Grandma bye for now.
"Thanks for bringing me here." I say has I bend down and hug her neck.
Hugging me back, she says, "You're welcome, sweetie. I hope you won't be too busy to visit or call me afterwards."
Chuckling and grinning, I say, "You know I always have time for you. I will, I promise."
After that we say bye and she drives off to go back to her little cottage.
Well, I'm here. I hope I can change my loner personality. This is going to be a whole new start for me, and it's going to be an adventure. Or, at least I hope so, I think as I reach the front office.
"Hey, I'm Jenna Stone. I applied to come here about a couple of months ago." I say, trying to get over the nervous feeling that was bubbling up inside me.
Looking up, the woman says, "Ah, yes, the student from America, right?" I nod.
"Alright, everything is already in order for you. Your time table will be in your dorm. Oh, and here is your key. Hope you have a great time here." She hands me the key with a cheerful smile.
I search for my room, but to no avail, I am completely lost. And, as if that isn't enough, I start to feel like somebody is watching me, though all the students should be in their classes at this hour. I shrug it off, but, as I did that, my shoulder bag, that was slung on my left arm, falls to the floor, spilling its contents all over the marble floor.
"Oh no!" I exclaim as I bend down to pick up my things in a rush.
"Need some help?" A male voice asks. After hearing that, I look up to see where it came from only to stare into the most gorgeous blue I have ever seen. As I look at him I notice that he has dark brown hair, and the most amazing skin. His face had a good strong jaw and the most luscious lips, for a guy anyways.
"I...uh...yeah that would be nice, thanks." I say trying to get over the nervous feeling and trying to not make a total fool of myself. And, at that he smiles.
"Hey, I'm Drew Brooks," he says, smiling once I have everything back in my shoulder bag.
Returning the smile, I say, "Oh, hi. I'm Jenna Stone, it's nice to meet you. Um, I feel so stupid asking this but, can you help me find my dorm?"
"Sure, what's the number?" Drew asks and I give him the piece of paper that the lady at the desk had given me. "Oh, this isn't very far at all. It's just down the hall, the last one on the right."
We walk a few more meters to the end of the hall, and sure enough, there it was.
"Here you are. Do you need any help?" he asks, crossing his arms over his well-toned chest and leaning on the door frame.
"No, I got it, but, thanks for asking. Well, I suppose I'll be seeing you," I say and unload everything on the floor of the dorm.
Drew nods and says, "Okay, I'll see you. Oh, and welcome to England." And, with that he walks off.
Sighing, I close the door, and lean on it.
Wait. What the hell was that? I could of sworn I saw somebody just now. I think as I look all around the room, but didn't find anybody or anything.
Well, one thing I can say so far: This is going to be very interesting.click
