             Prologue

 [[                                               This is the prologue for the story.
Also, for those of you in search for a romance, I'm sorry, but this isn't for you. This is an actual story I'm writing, and it has nothing to do with a girl falling in love with a guy. The main characters a guy for that matter you'll see.

I'm also not going to continue posting this unless I see that people have an interest. I'm going to keep writing it whether I get followers or no, but unless I get at least 15-20  views along with at least 5 votes above 3.5 I'm not going to continue past chapter two or three.
                                       ]]

Most people think that the world will fall into peril or start the Apocalypse because of a war. After all, history repeats itself. This would turn out true, but it wouldn't be how it started. There's a major destructive era that people forget about though. It wiped out a third of Europe's population, and was more deadly than a nuclear bomb. That's right it's the black plague, but at this point in time our civilization would never get that. We're too clean, healthy, and intelligent. This is were mankind went wrong. In the year of 2028 a plague hit. It spread by air, and it quickly went all around the world. Areas that were less advanced were hit the worst. Around sixty percent of the population died from it, and the more advanced had around a forty percent population loss.

For a long time coming people said that the population rate was going to up too quickly. There was also a large population boost in the Dark Ages. The boost was nothing like this one, but that only resulted in making the disease stronger. Earth had decided that the population was too high, and it was time to cut down. Every other disease hadn't done enough. So in came what was to be known as the Paginae Virus. A virus that started in a place most people wouldn't get why, and attacks something unexpected.

What the Paginae Virus effected was as odd as where it came from. The virus attacked hearing at first. Then completely numbed the ears, and then slowly numbed the whole body. The cells deteriorated, but because the body is numb the victim can't tell that it's happening. Soon they cannot walk, eat, or move at all. Often they go into a coma and die in their sleep. Still, it's called the Paginae Virus because it was caused by paper, and in Latin "paginae" means a page of a book.

After one year of frantic scientists searching for the cause they found one. The virus was located in paper. This caused a huge uproar. Paper was in every household. It was used for millions of purposes. The most important documents were written on paper! How could anyone avoid this disease? More importantly, how was everyone to save information? The common answer was the internet. Sadly, almost all computers were confiscated as they all had printers that went with them. That meant they were considered infected. Millions of people at a time were sent off town by town to places that were supposedly safe until they could uncontaminated the houses.

Things started to fall apart as the disease still continued to spreading. Libraries were burned to try and stop Paginae Virus. With the complete lack of computer usage it wasn't long until the fall of the internet began to fail. Soon the stations that made sure it stayed up were soon destroyed as well. It came sudden, almost unwarned, and some related it to the fall of the Roman Empire. Very few papers were saved, and those that were, were put into extreme lock down. Classics as well were attempted to be saved, but nothing would be saved from what came next.

There are many important books in the world, and there are many important documents. Few are held higher by many cultures than religious texts. To those that are extremists, they are taken care of with the utmost respect. Whether people want to accept it or not, those extremists are in every continent, in every country, in every state or province. Many a tear of a book lover, teacher, or just intelligent person was shed as books started to be banned, but none would see predict the fighting that would come when the religious texts were to be taken. The uproar that came from every religious person could not be silenced. The minute the first Bible, Torah, or Qur’an touched a flame rioting started. Places like Jerusalem were hit hard, while more remote country areas only heard faint news of it and remained peaceful. There was little to be done to stop this. It wasn't just book after long. Artists all over the world were turned into just as bad a rioting when they discovered Da Vinci's Mona Lisa had been infected and burned. Continuing to get worse, the virus was soon found in paints and inks. There was practically no escaping it.

Such paranoia was created at this point that even the wisest of men became raving mad. Someone had to be responsible for the creation of this virus! It couldn't have just sprung up! The few government officials that remained began pointing fingers at each other at the United Nations. World War three was on the horizon, and there was nothing there to stop it. Within a month of the argument the war broke out. What remained of the armies, navies, and such fought. The death toll that was calculated for the six years that the war and plague went on for has never been topped. Not even the Black Plague could top the Paginae Virus.

It took six years for the smoke to clear from the giant battle and the plague to disappear, but it took hundreds of years for mankind to even start recover from the blow that was hit. All of the missing technology, all of the lost culture, and all the history destroyed put the world back to the Dark Ages almost. People are ruthless and just try to survive in the cruel world that it's become. There's little hope for children's futures other than more misery. At the lowest point of morality a spark of light shows up. A couple of people scrounging about find a book. The ability to read is rare, and few have it still. They go off to find someone to read the book to them, and are shocked at how deep the story was. It had to be some sort of parchment that told you how to live your life properly. Just like the characters did. They assumed it had to be a form of religion one practiced by ancient kinds. The three couldn't be farther off. What they found was a fantasy book. A rather well known one for that matter. It was titled Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone.

                           And so by the hands of these three people it became a new
      religion. Infact, soon other books started being found, and they followed in the
                                                same footsteps.
