::FF.1 Month::
The four boys entered the temple.
"Hello, anyone here?" Yusuke called. A sliding door opened as Genkai entered.
"Ahh, I'm sure those two will be thrilled to see you four" she commented with a smirk as the sound of footsteps were heard and the two came out.
Jess wore black extremely baggy kahki pants[like Inuyash'a but black] with a black tight-fitting sleevless sports bra styled top that had a simple collar and went below the chest by 3 inches. Black Icey blue halffinger glooves, baby blue nail polish and simple baby blue flats. Ang wore something rather similiar except the pants were a tourquise green, the top also matching with blue nail polish and aqua blue fingerless glooves and aqua blue flats. The two were both bruised, beatened and battered, nto too much tired looking. Jess's tail swished behind her, her ears down slightly as Ang's tail wagged behind her, her ears also down.
"That certainly takes me back" Yusuke muttered and they both looked at the four, their face slit up as their tails wagged, their ears perking up imediately.
"Cntact with the outside!"
"We certainly missed you four!" he two glomped the closest to them, Hiei. He grunted as the two had their arms wrapped around him, Ang's arms around his mid-section and Jess's around his neck, her cheek nuzzled against his own as she purred, Ang's tail wagged.
"I take it you've been training them hard, Genkai?" Kurama looke dover to the older woman who simply nodded.
"Kurama-kun, god you neve know hwo much you miss someone until they're gone" he blinked as Jess now hugged him, her head nuzzled into his neck thanks ot the height difference, her tail wagging as a pur vibrated her throat. Yusuke and Ang snickered in the background seeing as Kurama had went a light pink from her nuzzling into his neck.
"Did you miss me Jess?" Kuwabar asked, getting inbetween Kurama and Jess, holding her hands inbetween his. She blinked in surprise for a second.
"Not as much" he fell flat on his face as Ang and Yusuke laughed at him, she looked down at him oddly before yawning.
"Genkai, is it alright if we have mid-day break now?" Ang asked the old woman who nodded and the two beamed.
"Great, I need a nap" Jess stretched her muscles out, straining them to the full extent so her entire body was stiff, just like a cat. A sweatdrop formed on the back of their heads at the feline friend, she certainly did take title of cat.
"Aww Jess-chan, please stay with us. I mean, you did miss them right?" Ang grabbed onto Jess's arm, giving her a light pout. Jess was rubbing her one eye tiredly while looking down at Ang.
"Ya, you did miss us right?" Yusuke joine din as the two put on their most cutest pouts with large watery eyes. She went a light pink as her eyes widened.
"K-Kawaii!" she squeled and had hugged onto Yusuke, cuddling him like a plushie and Ang snickered.
"So you will hang with us, right?" Ang asked hopefully and Jess nodded.
"So, why are you four here?" Genkai asked Kurama as the seven headed outside, not a training feild but a plain outdoor. Jess, Ang, Yusuke and Kuwabara just hanging out and talking. Jess sat crossed legged on a hammock, Ang in the same position next to her, the two seate don the ground infront of them. It was apparently Jess's hammock because she soon knocked Ang off and layed down, staying awake.
"Koenma sent us saying he lost contact with you" Kurama replied.
"Ah, well you can blame the idoits for that" she smirked as Kurama only imagined what the two manage to do with her communicator.
"Well, the two girls had managed to find a way of using their demonic abilities without using their demonic energy in doing so. It was discovered by Jess, she managed to use her abilities over ice still as ahuman using plain spirit energy, she made a good sized and fairly strong protective wall. The two stil need alittle more training, they certainly progress quickly" she explained as Kurama nodded, remembeirng every word to tell Koenma later. Jess giggled before she looke dover to where Kurama and Genkai stood and waved Kurama over.
Genkai smirked. "You can run off to your friends" he blinked and looked to her before nodding and jogging over to them. Jess offered him a spot on the hammock.
"Oh ya, you let him sit on your hammock" Kuwabara rolled his eyes as Jess giggled.
"You're just jelous you can't get near your precious kitten!" Yusuke teased causing Kuabara to blush.
"Shut up Urameshi!" he punched Yusuke over the head as Ang and Jess giggled, Kurama shoke his head.
"Looks like you have a lover Jess" Ang teased as Jess's eye twitched.
"Don't think I haven't seen you and Yusuke get it on Ang, you don't want to know his name, all you want is bang! bang! bang!" Jess teased as Ang weakly glared. She giggled as Kurama chuckled softly at the two.
"Kurama-kun, you should see how well we've progressed in our training!" Ang stated ethusiasticly as Jess nodded, their tails wagging, swishing behind them as Yusuke and Kuwabara continued to fight.
"Genkai told me, you too are quick leaners" he chuckled at their child-like ethusiasim.
"She said maybe another month or so and then we'll be ready but for now we're stuck with 24/7 training but she was nice enough to give us mid-day breaks once a week" Jess stated as he nodded.
"Oi, you two slackers. Training will begin in 5 minutes, you four, you can stay or leave, it doesn't matter to me" Jess and Ang nodded as did Kurama before Genkai entered the temple.
"Kurama-kun, are you guys going stay and watch us train?" Jess asked before falling to her side, landing with her head and alittle bit of her upper back on Kurama's lap as he blinked in surprise, a faint pink on his cheeks.
"Jess, is this kitty feisty?" Ang teased, playingw ith one of her ears. She gave her a annoyed pout, not enjoyin being teased when ti came to the subject of her liking someone.
"More that you know it Ang, more than you know" Jess giggled, one leg brought up so it bent at the knee as she crosse dher legs like that, staying comfortably layed on Kurama's lap, he slowly started to rock the hammock back and forth, unaware of that being the main thing that could place Jess to sleep. She faintly purred as her eyes slowly closed and he stopped. She shifted onto her stomach, uing his lap as a pillow, her tail subconciously wagging as Ang snickered.
"Maybe we should wake her up, training is going to begin soon" Kurama nodded and lightly shoke ehr shoulder. Her eyes barely opened but before she peacefully awoke, Ang had a better idea.
"Jess wake up!" she pulled at Jess's tail. She hissed, jumping in an instantly, now clung to a tree branch below Hiei's, her claws dug into the bark as Ang alughed. Jess glared down at Ang, the others also had started to laugh.
"Ang you hoe, that hurts!" Jess hissed, lowly growling at Ang before calming down. Slipping her legs off the branch, she allowed herself to hang there for a moment before letting go and landing on the hammock, thankfully it didn't give from the sudden weight.
"Come on, we have to train" Ang rose to her feet as Jess got off the hammock and dusted herself off.
"You guys staying?" Jess asked the four boys, Yusuke nodded and the four followed, well Yusuke was with Ang and Jess, an arm around their shoulders as the three followed, Kuwabara glaring at Yusuke for touching Jess.
"Today ladies, we'll be doing soemthing that won't risk any physical damage" Genkai intrusted, they wer eoutside in the training feild. The four sitting and watching from the sidelines. The two sat crossed legged infront of Genkai who explained what they would be doing.
"Do we have to sit in the lutos position?" Jess asked as Genkai looked ot her and shoke her head.
"It doesn't matter what position you're in, just aslong as your able to control your spirit energy" the two nodded and Genkai stepped back, focused and soon every found her standing perfectly balanced a short pillar formed of her spirit energy.
The two had closed their eyes and seemed to be concentrating rather hard, their demonic energy almost flared as the two tried to hard. Soon, it started to work. A breeze came as Ang now levitated a foot off the ground. A ice pillar started to rise Jess off the ground and Ang's air bubble raised her higher. It soon raised them pretty high a demon probably couldn't jump that high.
"Excellent!" Genkai called as the two peered down. It looked like Jess got nervous as Ang lost focus and her air bubble deminished and Jess instantly grabbe dher wrist and pulled her up onto the pillar.
"Uhh, Geknia-sama!" Jess suddenly asked as the two looked down at their elder trainer who looked up at Jess.
"What is it?" she asked, they were lucky the two spoke loudly and the two had very heightene dheairng or neithe rof them would hear eachother.
"Uh hehehe I have a bit of a confession to make about heights!" Jess laughed nervously, see, she's acrophobic[fear of heights] which comes somewhat natural for feline sbut Jess has had it before the whole demon thing.
"Can't get down?, jump!" she called up to the two. Ang was reluctant, she wasn't acrophobic but was not willing to plunge down to a death drop without knowing she'll be safe.
"I think I'll just relax up here thank you" Jess's claws dug into the ice at the eldge of the pillar, she stayed extremely low to the pillar top as she fearfully looked down at the ground. Ang used her air abilities to fly down[with the air bubble] but the others found it odd Jess refused to move.
"Something's wrong with her" Kurama commented looking up at her just as Ang landed and looked up at Jess.
"Hiei?" Yusuke looked to the fire apparition "Hn".
//What's the problem Baka-neko?// Jess whimpered slightly.
//I-I'm terrified of heights, acrophobic if you will// she thought honestly, she knew Hiei was going to mock her for it.
//Just jump before Genkai blasts the pillar to bits//
//I'll take my chances and just stay put thank you// her claws dug deeper into the ice as she closed her eyes tightly.
"What's wrong with her?" Yusuke asked Hiei once knowing he had ended contact with Jess.
"Hn. Acrophobic" he simply replied, Kuwabara gave him a confussed look as Kurama blinked in surprise.
"What's that?" Kuwabara finally asked as Ang sighed, shaking her head, though she didn't know what that was when she first heard ti from Jess.
"It means she's afraid of heights" Kurama replied rising from his seat and wlaking onto the training feild to where Genkai prepared to blast the ice to bits.
"I'll get her down" he placed a hand on her shoulder and she nodded, allowing him to do his job. He focused as the roots to the trees suddenly sprouted out of the ground, growing and working up the pilloar.
Jess tensed feeling something wrap around her waist before another around her wrists and ankles and lifted her off the ice's surface, well if she hadn't clung on with the claws. Once amanaging to remove her form the pillar's surface, more weeved together under her as it slowly started to lower her. The remaining roots crushed her ice pillar to just simple shards as they fell for the ground, not even scratching her. Her eyes still held tight as she felt herself drop for a mere second before lanidng in soemthing warm and soft. She gripped tightly onto whatever she could grab, her claws digging and peircing into the surface.
"Jess, relax you're alright now" her ear twitched at the voice, she slowly opened her eyes and found herself staring up at the familiar face of the red-headed boy she found so attractive.
"K-Kurama-kun" she went light pink before the scent of blood reached her nose and she looked to see his arm bleeding from when her claws dug into it.
"Ahh, I'm really really really sorry, I didn't mean to" she started to go crazy about the simple hardly noticable scratch. A sweatdrop forme don their heads as she was getting over-worried over hurting Kurama, Jess felt extremely guilty for some reason.
"Jess, really it's fine" Kurama reassured but Jess was still going on and on about hwo she was sorry and if she could do anything for him to make it up to him. Normally Jess gave off an I-Don't-Care type of person btu she seemed extremely guilty from accidently hurting Kurama.
"She normally doesn't care if she's mad at the person or if their an enemy but if it's a friend, doesn't matter if she's mad at them or not, she will be extremely guilty about hurting them or if they are hurt" Ang explained as the five watched Jess fuss over Kurama.
"I'm really sorry about that Kurama-kun, I really didn't mean to. Are you okay?, are you sure?" she asked as he laughed inwardly, a sweatdrop on the back of his head.
"I'm fine, really no need to worry, it's a simple scratch" he waved his hands infront of him but Jess, though agreed still looked immensly guilty, he could sence it. She felt bad for hurting him.
"Oi, lazy-neko, enough worrying and lets get back ot training" Genkai grabbed her tail and dragged Jess away from the red-head who sighed and went to take his seat, Ang also went out onto the training feild.
"Now for the second part of your training, we'll be testing your balance and double tasking. Jess, if you could bring us three into the air with tall ice pillars" Jess simpley nodded and concentrated. Like before, three ice pillars suddenly started to rise, all three on their one that was 4ft in diameter.
"You two will mantaining complete balance while blasting at eachother spirit energy, just like Yusuke's Spirit Gun" Genkai instructed as Jess looked at her like she was crazy. Jess was already trembling from the height.
"Are you crazy!?1, if we were to fall-Ahh!" she managed to dodge a blast of spirit energy sent off by Ang.
"Did I forget to mention, the winner of this challenge gets three days off" Genkai added nonchalantly as jess smirked and sent a blast off at Ang, who barely dodged.
"You bitch!" the two were seen add it. Genkai also found herself avoiding a few stray blasts, the two were giving everything they got.
"I never said you two couldn't use your powers" Genkai announced and Ang smirked evilly and manipulated the air. Jess struggled to stay balance and not fall as the strong gusts of wind whipped at her head on, her hair dancing in the wild winds behind her as she slowly started to skid closer to the ledge.
//Damn it// she cursed having to come up with a thought quickly. She held her hand out and focused on the water particles in the air she was blowing at her powerful. Managing oo freeze most of it, more air came gusting at her and knocked her off balance. She was standing extremely close to the edge as her body leaned backwards more.
//Think Jess, think// she had flaile dher arms, leaning her upper body forward and putting more weight there so she had caught her balance. She did this in matter of seconds though, she was feline os she caught her balance extremely well.
"I ain't going down that easily!" Jess got herself closer to Ang but still on her pillar. Ang started another blast of powerful gusts of winds but Jess suddenly got an idea. Ice suddenl worked up from the pillar platform, trapping her feet to place and up to her ankle smaking her smirk as Ang weakly glared and the two were stuck to senidng blasts of energy. Jess forced into sustaining the damage of each of Ang's blows, unable to dodge them. Ang had used the air around her to hold her in place so the two were evenly matched.
//Perfect. I just wish the two wouldn't hold back on eachother// Genkai thought, smirking as she watched the two send blast after blast at eachother, trying to knock the other away. Ang finally got an idea. Smirking, she sent only hand hand blasts as she poweed up one in her other hand. Jess narrowed her eyes seing this, Genkai watched intentionally, wondering what Ang had planned.
"You can only hope Kurama catches you Jess!" Ang sent the blast straight for her. It was ovalled and spun, almost like a curved blade. Jess antiicpated the blast, crossing her arms infront of her defensively but blinke din surprise as it curved. Her eyes widened releaisng she was aiming for the ice that held her place.
"Nice try" she broke the ice before it reached it and she pushe doff the pillar, jumping up and avoiding the blast befor elanding perfectly balance don the icey surface, it surprisingly wasn't slippery.
//I have to think of a plan to knock her of, though the way Genkai has us going against eachother like this is rather, cruel considering how close we are. Wait, that's it! Genkai you coniving woman!// Jes thought just realizing something.
"Alright Ang, I give up, you win. Go ahead, give me the last blow" Jess stood completely still, her arms outstretched to her sides. The two were panting as Genkai smirked and loked over at Jess.
"You sure?" Ang asked unsuruely, caught off gaurd by Jess's surrender but Jess nodded, looking Ang straight in the eye.
"Alright, if you say so!" she sent a giant powerful gust of wind. It hit Jess dead on and sent her flying back. She lost focus as her pillar combusted into millions shards of ice as she fell to the ground. She smirked.
"Take this!" she sent all the shards flying at the off-gaurd Ang, hiting her dead on and blasting her off her own pillar and the two plunged to the ground. Jess smirked as she looked down at the ground, she was falling head-first but surprisingly wasn't afraid. Waiting for the right moment, she soon flippe din the air before landing in a crouched position, soon rising to her feet and dusting herself off of any ice shards, Ang landed on her feet aswell.
"Congradulations, it's a tie. Neither of you get the thre days off" Genkai announced as the two looked at he rin disbelief.
"N-Nani!?"
"But we both won so we should both get the prize!" Ang protested, Yusuke started to laugh.
"You don't know Genkai, she would never give you a days-off for that!" Yusuke laughed as the two glared at him.
"Jess would have won after she realized what the whole test was about, but thanks to her stubborness, she had to drag Ang down with her" Genkai commented as Jes glared at the old-wman, grumbling incoherant words.
"Any more of that lip and you'll be given double training. No stop complaining, we have more training to complete today, we're not stopping until you two get it right" the two gawked at her in disbelief and shock. They were both extremely sore, bruised and battered from that battle of the spirit energy but reluctantly trudged after her, losing most spirit in the thought of training. Yusuke snickered, remembeirng when she use to trian him.
"Shut up Yusuke" a rock came in contact with Yusuke's head and he glared at the two, rubing his head, Ang and Jess snickered before giving eachother a high-five.
"If you two enjoy throwing things with your powers, how about some pin-drop training?" the two groaned, following Genkai inside, the four boys left to give Koenma the full report Genkai gave them.
"Faster, we don't stop until you get this right!" Jess narrowingly missed a few stalagmites of spirit energy that dropped form above her. She skidded to a stop and swipe dher hand before drawing a circle, a umrella shaped ice barrier formed above her as a another stalagmite shattered against the ice and she dropped the ice, going to run again. Ang was also having her trouble but normally used her air abilities to block them away. Jess suddenly go an idea.
"Ang, hold stil!" Ang looked at Jess oddly before stalagmite dropped to fall n her, a blast of wind blew them back and Jess soon lunged, lanidng in her shoulder.
She focused as much as she could and Ang went wide-eyed seeing Jes's shadow fuse with her onw, the two did the same movements as Jess thanks to the shadow fuse.
"Damnit!" Jess cursed and concentrated again, suddenly Jess's shadow was gone, enveloping around her entire body as if she was the shadow and she sunk into Ang's shadow, dissappeairng as Ang gawked.
Jess reappeared, coming out of the shadows that were on the support beams above and smirked, now above the stalagmites.
"Lets see you drop something on me now Genkai!" she called tauntingly. Genkai had a blank expression like always making Jess growl from getting no reaction by Genkai. She winced as something grazed her cheek, it stung and then she felt something warm start roll down her cheek. Rubbing it away with he rhand she saw it was blood and blinke din surprise. Looking over her shoulder, she went wide-eyed in surprise seeing millions of spirit energy the size of senbon needles hovering about her, she wouldn't be dodge that much, they were too close and there was too many. This was why Genkai wasn't impressed, she just placed herself in more danger.
They all dropped and Jess used her darkness powers to summon the shadows. Grabbing it, she pulle dit over herself like a blanket but the needles of spirit energy peirced right through. The shadow went flat, almost like the needles deflatted it.
Jess reappeared coming out of Ang's shadow onc emore but before anything was done, she jumped out of the way of another stalagmite. "Okay, so that didn't work" she loke dover her shoulder intime to see more of those senbon needles of spirit energy all following her.
"Is she trying to kill" Jess twirle don her heel, skidding to a stop before blasting her hend outwards, the other crossing her chest incase this fails then she has some type of protection. A blast, almost like a blizard and they all froze over, droping to the ground. Closing her hand, she turn and high-tailed form there just as four stalagmites peirced the floor here she was. Genkai smirked at their process.
"Alright ladies, that's enough" the two stopped and looke dover at Genkai. A stray stalagmite dropped, almost peircing Jess's foot to the ground but she yelped, jumping back instinctively.
"Tomorrow morning will be dedicated aon fixing this room, you will be using nothing but your own abilities" the two groaned tiredly but trudged out of the training room, it was getting late and training was over.
"Get a good night's sleep and I expect you to be wake up when I tell you too" the two simply nodded, trudging to their room. Carefully, they got changd and patched up all their small wounds.
"This is murder" Ang layed down on her bed, on her back, just staring up at the ceiling. "That old woman is trying to kill us" she concluded, Jess smiled slightly, laying down on her side and getting comfortable.
"It's not as it seems Ang. She is only doing this for the best of our safety, we have to be trained and she knows what's she doing. She really does care about it, though doesn't exactly show it, she's doing what is for the better" Jess replied as Ang looked at her.
"Certainly an odd way on doing it" she grumbled and Jess giggled.
"Lets get some sleep for tomorrow" she blew out the lantern as silence and darkness filled the room.
"Jess, want to stay up tonight?, all we're doing tomorrow is fixing the training room" Ang suggested after a moment of silence.
"Good-night Ang" Jess replied, not in a tired way but with alittle authority as her way of saying 'No, now go to sleep'. Ang sighed but also went to sleep.
