"Yeah~!" You screeched, jumping over a metal rail and landed right back onto your skateboard that floated in the air; and automatically, it 'flew' in blistering speed. You looked over your shoulderes, pulling down your eyelid and stook our your tongue at the group of stormriders ,"Can't catch me for beans!" you taunted and lifted up your skirt, smirking at their somewhat surprised expressions of disappointment ,"SHORTS! HA!" Cackling, your turned your attention up ahead, eyes widening in surprise.

BAM!

You hit a metal pole.

You fell off your airboard and landed onto the rough ground ,"Ouch... that hurt... a lot." you faintly whispered to yourself and pressed onto a nearby pole helplessly, noticing the same stormriders throwing mocking taunts at you. You cracked your knuckles, standing up, but your pupils shrinked at the sudden one, no... THREE shadows that soon plagued over you ,"W-What? An ambush?" you groaned, covering your eyes. Uncovering your eyes, you blinked to see the three unfamilar stormriders beating up the group that chased you. As an instinct, you immediately picked up your board and silently walked away, not even bothering to thank them.

"Hey, babe!" One of the three "heroes" huskily yelled out, jogging over to you.

You paused from your position and took a quick glance at him before adjusting your view to the other two stormriders, studying them for a while. They didn't seem harmless. Well, back to the guy who called you "babe" - he was, well, not to be mean, but he was wide to put it in plain words ,"What?" you dully questioned, throwing your airboard to the ground as it naturally lifted up. You placed one foot onto the board and looked up and down at him, your eyes catching onto his airtrecks. You blinked, a slight bitter tone flooding your eyes. Slowly, you shook your head ,"Don't talk it the wrong way, but you aren't my type. Sorry, though." you teasingly smiled, poking the boy on his forehead ,"Sayonnara, birdies~!" Giggling, you waved a 'good-bye' to the other boys and soon disappearing out of sight.

You glanced over your shoulders, your gray eyes barely grazing to the corner of your eyes in a slight wonder about those "things" that were now popular. You knew a good deal about those things - y' know -- roads, emblems, teams... "Roads", eh? You found it kind of crazy that there were "roads" that people followed. Since when did those roller-blades sweep the minds of teenagers alike?

Ugh, what were those things called? Oh, yeah. "Air trecks", or "A-T" for short.

You sighed, stretching as the cold breeze pushed through your hair. You couldn't help it, but you were pretty much like those lunatics, too! That is, you thought of the wind as a friend. The sky as your goal and the earth as your starting line. "That's a nice wind..." you cheekily smiled, jumping along with your airboard and landed against a cold rail, simply grinding against it. You tightly gripped your backpack and jumped up, landing onto the ground gracefully. Getting off your board, you picked it up and met a huge school before you ,"I guess this is it - Higashi Junior High." you sighed, throwing your backpack over your shoulder relentlessly.

You were home-schooled, so going through many schools for a good reason was common. Patting your backpack, you smiled as your eyes dimmed a bit. Things had been pretty hectic lately because of stormrider teams. Yeah, it might have seemed as if you hated stormriders, but you really didn't. You just didn't like the stormriders who used A-Ts for the wrong reasons. Oh, no, you didn't have any A-Ts, you didn't have the time. Although, someone from your job always pecked you about airtrecks.

Looking around, you noticed a bushy bush and clicked at the sudden idea. You soon threw your airboard into the bush and cautiously glanced around once more, making sure no one had saw. You knew it was a safe place for the time-being, and skateboard, airtrecks, and other unnecessary things wouldn't be allowed inside the hallway of the school building. Once you knew everything was crystal clear, you headed into the building with pride and dignity like everyone back there always had with them.

Before you knew it, you were already the center of attention in the hallways - of course, this went to all "new" students, right? Yeah, that was right. You were new here.

You grew annoyed at the stares that became of you, and snarled at the group of guys who threw dirty whistles. However, you growled at that group for a reason. Normally, you would have ignored them, but... those guys had tattoos that stuck on the side of their forehead -- "stormriders". Like you had remembered, you were here for a reason - to look for stormriders in the flesh of a red-handed crime and to look for one particular person that you were curious about - Minami, Itsuki. You have heard of the name several times, but to see that your friend was interested in this "Itsuki" person also made you interested.

Turning to the right hallway, you pushed through a door to a certain classroom and peeked inside to see all of the students throwing paperballs at eachother ,"Ahem..." you coughed, trying to catch the teacher's attention ,"Ahem...! AHEM!" you growled out, causing the teacher to jump up. You shrugged and walked into the classroom, bowing to all the students. Seeing that the teacher was quite disorganized, you began to introduce yourself ,"The name's Kakari Kirishima." and continued to think ,"... I guess that's all."

"Kakari" was your first name, it meant "to connect". Even though it was your first name, you went by your middle name back there. Shaking your head, you took an empty seat and glowered your eyes to the desk. The desk was riled with drawings and writings, but what caught your attention was a picture of a crow. You lifted your head and scrunched your nose at the students who glanced at you, bewildered,

"Doesn't Babyface sit there?"
"... Yeah."

Babyface?
What was going on? Who was this "Babyface"? Jogging your memories up a bit, you blinked and rubbed your temples. You had to remember who was this "Babyface", you studied each and every student's profile before registering for the school. Maybe I can find some clues around here... you sighed and glanced under the desk, only to see a crow fly out, cawing. You locked onto the crow who flew around the classroom until a door opened. The crow soon landed onto someone's hair - and that someone seemed pretty familiar. Oh, crap.

Realization soon hit you. Whoever sat here must be pretty weird to have a CROW in there! You quickly scrambled off the desk and stumbled over to the corner, wide-eyed. It wasn't that you were scared, it was just the fear of having to sit on a peculiar desk of having the possibility of having a weird person experiment on it. Your eyes followed to the open door - it was those three stormriders who had "saved" you.

They took their seats and stuffed their airtrecks into a sports bag. You didn't know anything about them, but you could definitely tell that they were barely starting airtrecks by their over-confident faces. It was pretty obvious, in other words.

The day was splattered in orange, dusk was taking over. Walking out of the school building, you looked out at the peaceful sky and smiled. The area around you was completely empty, and you didn't expect anyone to stay after school. You lifted one hand up in the air, making an attempt to grasp the sky for a moment, but you were limited into only grasping the thin air. Your eyes widened as you felt a hand over your own delicate hand.

"High, isn't it?"

You looked over your shoulders, just to notice one of those three boys (y' know, the three "saviors" that took out those group of stormriders). This boy was tall and had eyes with strong depth of innocence in them. Those were the eyes of a newborn bird who didn't know of what was around them as of yet. You made a puzzled face in realization that you were too busy staring at him that you only responded his comment with silence ,"Y... Yeah, it is." came a hesitant answer, but you covered the hesitation up with a straightened posture. You ignored the fact that he was really close behind you, his chest pressing against your back.

You pulled down your hand and walked toward a nearby bush, leaning against it to make an effort to find your precious item. Looking deeper within the bush, you gulped. It wasn't there. Your airboard wasn't there! "W... Where is it?!" your voice falted a bit, showing an obvious affection to your board.

The guy curiously walked toward you, his hands in his pocket as he wore a small, mischievous smile ,"Lose something?"

"H-Huh?" You glanced over at him and nodded ,"Yeah!" you clearly answered, jumping out of the bush to have twigs and leaves in your hair. "Actually! I'm looking for something this long..." you trailed off, measuring the length and width with your arms ,"It's really importa-AAAAANT!!!!" You suddenly screamed in mid-sentence as that same boy picked you up and in a flash, you were in mid-air.

Staring down at the high height, you couldn't believe it. You believed that this man that carried you was a complete beginner at this! But... how? Your eyes slithered down to the guy's feet, he wore airtrecks. "Wow," you awed, you never experienced airtrecks like this before ,"H-Hey! LET ME DOWN!" you hollered, your chest pounding loudly at a first-time's experience.

Seemingly, the older boy blinked in thought, trying to think; but a smirk placed on his lips as he gently threw you up into the air.

With a shreek, you covered your eyes, you were still in the air!
"Nevermind! Nevermind! HOLD ME! HOLD ME!" you yelped, holding tightly onto the rider's neck. I've... I've never expected A-Ts to be this exciting. It's so much different from riding on an airboard.

The guy only laughed at your jumpy attitude, faintly blushing at the tight hold you had around him; to assure safety, he carried you bridal-style ,"Don't worry, you won't fall - at least, not on my wings." he widely quoted with a cheesy smile that just read with self-confidence. Landing with a small tap, he gently swayed you to your two feet and took one last look at you before turning away, beginning to leave.

Although, before he could widen the gap from you, you leaned in and quickly tugged onto his school jacket, frowning with a unsatisfied look ,"You know, you only dragged me further away from where I live..." you meekly mumbled, shaking your head ,"But, nevermind that. What's your name?" a question of curiosity arose from your lips once you had released your grasp on his jacket, placing your hands on your hips for an answer.

"It's Itsuki. Minami, Itsuki." the teenage boy cooly replied, pointing at himself with his thumb cockily as he threw a somewhat charming smile at you, his other free hand dug into his pocket.

"Oh." you blankly stated, unfazed, but realization soon hit you when that name echoed in the depth of your mind. Itsuki? Minami...? W-Wait! You mean... Ah. He's that guy! The guy I've heard so much about! The guy who is rumored to be the candidate for Wind King. you were completely awed by your chance of meeting him ,... being with WIND (the force that captures criminal activities with A-Ts) definitely paid off...

However... there was one thing that came first.
A coy smile soon appeared across your lips as you slowly parted your lips to begin talking once more ,"... You have my board, don't you?"

Surprised, Itsuki fell onto the ground and laughed only a little ,"H-How did you....?"

You bit your lower lip, not sure of what to say ,"Let's just say... my instincts told me." you shyly grinned, putting your hands behing your back and tilted your head, making a cute face - causing the boy named "Itsuki" to blush. Your eyes then narrowed into a more serious expression, throwing Ikki off by a landslide ,"Airboard, please?" you asked in a more demanding tone.

Itsuki froze at your frightening gazed, disturbed. It took a while for him to recover before he gestured you to follow him.

Following him, your expression returned to your average-look ,"... Hey, you're new to A-Ts, right?" you grinned, knowing that you were right, but you didn't let him answer and continued ,"There's this A-class match a week from now, it's bound to be awesome! You want to come see? Take your friends!" you happily chirped, somehow, you regretted from saying what you said. If they came to the match, then...

Of course, there was no denying the fact that Itsuki was interested into going.

"It's a good way into learning more about the A-T classes and the many skillful stormriders out there." you continued informing, you were benefitting the crow-boy, but you were also happening to lure him and his friends into a dangerous trap, too. Yet, Itsuki and his friends weren't the opponents in the fight, so... maybe it would be alright? After all, he had been dying to meet Itsuki.

It wasn't long before Itsuki had guided you back to the school entrance, the walk took at least about twenty minutes of spare time. Itsuki headed to a tree nearby the school gate and grabbed the flat board into his palms. Freely, he handed it over to you and placed his hands into his pockets once you received the board ,"Anyways, I just wanted you to try out A-Ts, y' know." he meekly murmured, shifting his feet back and forth with a sorry look for stealing your board for that while.

You glanced at your unharmed board and looked up to him, lightly shrugging ,"I... I guess I'll consider it." you flashed a smile at him and threw a peace sign ,"Thanks, crow-boy." you mischievously smirked, recalling that a crow nested within his hair. Placing the board onto the ground, it laid there lifelessly. However, when you tapped onto the center, the board soon brought itself up to life into the air - about knee's length.

Swiftly taking a step back, Itsuki was obviously amazed.

You chuckled at his awed expression ,"You see... if you step on it, it will detect your heat and immediately, it gathers air into a ball underneath it." you explained, grabbing your board as you pointed to one of the sockets where the air rotated itself ,"... It basically has wheels, but it's invisible." you finished, poking where the air swiftly rotated ,"See, you can feel it, too." Cheesily smirking, you could clearly feel the tickling feeling of the rolled air that the board created. Without warning, you gently took Itsuki's hand, pulling it toward an empty socket where the sound and feeling of the "wind" was heard.

Itsuki blinked, his mouth agaped.

"Cool, huh?" you remarked, releasing Itsuki's hand ,"Even though it's purpose is somewhat similar to A-Ts, it is still very limited. You can't....-" you began, only to end up trailing off ,"... You can't really touch the sky with this board." you smiled, a bit saddened, but your eyes perked up, pushing the thoughts away ,"Thank you! You've shown me airtrecks the way nobody ever could!"

Grinning, you turned on your heels, throwing your board into the air and ran for it ,"It was nice meeting you!" you shouted, waving a "good-bye" to the older boy, soon disappearing out of sight on your board.

Standing wordlessly, Ikki smiled ,"... She looks happier."

"It's late..." You stated at the darkened sky ,"... but it's peaceful." You gaped at the horizon in front of you while leaning against a metal rail on a lonely bridge, it was out of the city and you chose to take the long way home. Looking over your shoulders, you noticed an airtreck shop with bright neon lights that said "Glum Slum"? At least, that is what you thought it had said - the words were pretty much mashed together to clearly observe it.

I should be going, and... uhm...
you wryly thought, hesitating whether to go in or not. Ano, he'll bug me again, so... why not? you pulled away from the bars of the rail, carrying your airboard as you headed toward the shop in curiosity ,... but, what kind of shop would be out here? How weird. I mean... if the shop wants some business, wouldn't they be better off in that district where stormriders hang around?

Taking a sharp stop to peek in the area, your eyes glowered down, only to be startled by a gruff voice from up high:
"This' shop for riders. If yer no rider, then go."

You stopped, frozen stiff at the gruff, man-ish woman voice and curiously looked around, butyour gray orbs captured onto a woman who was in the rather small shop ,"H-Huh? I.. umm, I was just looking around and, well... I-I... ungh..." you were obviously disturbed at the older woman's presence ,"NEVERMIND!" you exclaimed and threw your board onto the ground and gracefully skated away hurriedly, quite panged at the sudden shock.

"Hey! Wait! You..." The large lady tilted her head, watching you disappear in the shadows of the night ,"... she looks familiar." she finished in a peculiarized voice and stared over to the side where a large amount of team stickers were shown on the store's wall ,"Is she..-?"

Ah! Why did I even bother going there?!
You scolded yourself inwardly, hitting yourself on the head with a frown ,"Baka, baka, BAKA!" you continued and jumped onto some nearby train tracks, grinding against it expertly. If some A-T store is out here, then that's no ordinary store. Looking over your shoulders, you squinted your eyes at the faint neon lights behind you ,... I wonder... You turned your attention and focused on where you were going, noticing a flash of orange pass by you.

"HEY!" You called out, recognizing the blur of orange. It was him, your friend who kept pestering you about getting airtrecks. That showoff...

"Too f**king slow." A cocky voice scowled ,"... what's so d**n great about that s**tty board of yours?" he started once again for the fifth time this month. It was always the same.

You huffed, glaring at the gleaming eye of the familiar face you have grown accustomed to seeing ,"Shut it, shark-boy." you bitterly hissed at him, letting the wind slap your hair around. Smirking, you sped up a little, starting to have a race with the blue-haired wonder named "Agito", he was a peculiar, blood-thirsty boy, but he wasn't all that bad in rare times. With a switch of his eye-patch, he would be named "Akito", the nicer side of the two. You knew him well, but not all that well to know what he was thinking. He was the "Fang King"... until that incident happened when fate decided to take an unfortunate roll with the dice...

You couldn't help but feel the motions of sadness swell inside you.
No... you couldn't let the past get the best of you, not when you wanted to move forward.
"Let's see if you can keep up, sharky!" You dubbed, noticing that you guys were competitively racing side by side. Gently, you bumped hips with him, causing him to go off track a little, but he quickly recovered, cussing violently at you. You ignored his rude words and quickly stopped skating, catching him off guard as he kept going; unfortunately, he took a sharp turn and skated back toward you, not leaving you alone.

"What's the f**king matter? Too damn fast for you?" Agito smirked, licking his lips tentively in anticipation for your surrender.

You shrugged and jumped off your airboard, taking it into your arms ,"Nope! Not at all, shark-boy." you arrogantly smirked, beginning to walk on the tracks, noticing the place you were heading to was not far ahead. Truthfully, you were lieing. Agito was definitely faster, especially on those A-Ts where the unlimitations placed. "Anyways," you began ,"I met Minami, Itsuki! He's not bad at all on those airtrecks. He definitely has potential." you thought out, a thoughtful look wiping your face ,"I don't know... but, maybe I want to try out A-Ts."

Agito narrowed and rolled his eye, frowning in annoyance ,
"F**K!" he boomed ,"Listening to a complete over-confident bastard?! I've been telling you to get airtrecks all the freakin' time! And you finally listen! NOT to me, but to THAT s**tty loser?!" he bitterly hissed, his golden eye hatefully looking away in mixed emotions of betrayal, emptiness, and... well, pure annoyance.

"Yeah, but that's because he is pretty cool about A-Ts! I mean, unlike how the reality of airtrecks really is. That is, that crow has a pure, clean slate!" you slowly spoke and shook your head, slowly shifting your eyes to the older boy ,"... unlike someone I know who yells and forces me to put on airtrecks ALL the time when I'm not in the mood! How am I truly suppose to enjoy airtrecks if I'm being forced to ride it?!" you snapped back, glaring intensely at Agito, but before he could answer back, you placed your index finger onto his lips and leaned close to him ,"I know, I know! I am sorry, and I am wrong! I should have listened to you sooner." you innocently smiled, however, your eyes widened in bewilderedness to find him biting deeply into your finger, blood tricking down to your finger and to your palm.

Agito cockily smirked, licking your bloody finger without a sound ,
"Yeah... you f**king should've."

You quickly pulled your finger away from him, sucking your bleeding finger with utmost care. You always disliked it when Agito and you fought, it just hurt. You didn't want to lose him, and you wanted to enjoy every moment you had ,"You're like a vampire! It's creepy!" you groaned in disgust, tendering your wounded finger.

Agito coldly shrugged as he kept skating through the tracks, keeping pace with your legs.

"Yeah, but..." You deeply sighed, continuing on about Itsuki ,"... he showed me how wonderful the airtreck world can be, y' know!" you murmured, glancing at the flashing stars that turned off and on. You didn't know why you began to think about that crow-boy, but that experience with A-T had stained your mind of wanting to go higher and higher.

"F**K! You can't even stop talkin' about him!" Agito growled, irritated at your consistent ongoings.

You blinked, taken back at what he had said ,"... Y-Yeah, right..." you shyly murmured, trying to hide your somewhat offended tone ,"Shark-boy," was what you had began to say with a mischievous look playing on your lips ,"-... are you jealous?"

Of course, Agito reacted with blasphemy, unable to answer ,
"Don't f**k around with me!" Agito groaned with a low groal near the end of his sentence as he widened his distance from you, wearing a slight blush at his first reaction to your question.

You smiled and walked close to him ,"Oh! Come on! It's not like I'm obsessed with Itsuki-kun! Besides, I can only be myself around you..." you murmured, a sudden thought striking you ,"By the way! I invited crow to your match you will be having soon! I'm sure he'll bring some of his friends along, too! You wanted to meet him, right? Right? Oh, darn... I forgot to give him the flyer! Ungh, I'll tell him in school tomorrow."

Agito twitched, since when did you become to familiar with Itsuki, anyways?
"Whatever." a dull reply went.

You couldn't help but smile stupidly at him and his blunt answer.

"What're you smilin' about, 'tard?!" the fourteen year-old scowled, wishing he could slap you silly if it weren't for his locked sleeves.

"Nothing."

"Speak, idiot!"

"I want to talk to Akito!" You suddenly whined, quickly changing the topic. Smiling, you lifted your hand playfully, attempting to swap the eye-patch from left to right, but he shifted his head, trying to get away from your annoying presence ,"Oh, c'mon! I want to talk to Akito! I want to listen to that proverb again! You know! The one of the 'frog in the well'! He's so much more pleasant to talk to..."

Ah, it wasn't true. Agito and Akito were fun to talk to. Agito with his easy-to-annoy personality and Akito with his kind-heartedness.

"Get... the f**k away from me!" cried Agito, trying to shove you away from him.

"Ow! H-Hey! W-Wait!" You stammered, widening your eyes as you fell onto the train tracks, bell and lights being seen coming your way. It was the train, and you were right in the middle of it. A sudden shock ran through your spine, stopping you from moving. You closed your eyes, noting the train was going pretty fast to even take a stop so suddenly. Oh, crud. I'm going to DIE! you fearfully thought, your pupils dialating as you snapped your eyes open, feeling a rather powerful object pushing you off the tracks.

Landing roughly onto the ground, you found underneath...
AGITO?!

Wait a second.
You glanced at his unlocked sleeves, slightly distressed ,"Hey, how'd you do that?"

However, he did not answer.
Oh, that was right. You were underneath him. Slowly, you lifted your eyes, only to meet the warm eyes of... Akito. "AKITO!" you squealed, wrapping your arms around the cute boy who blinked in confusion ,"Your eye-patch must've switched when Agito saved me, huh! Tell Agito I said my thanks!" you happily exclaimed, you treated Akito differently from Agito. With Akito, you were always so happy and lively, you were most likely to forget the dangerous situations you were put in; but with Agito, you learned from your mistakes.

Yet, you did not know that when Agito saved you, his eye-patch did not switch. He realized he was on top of you, and was surprised to say the least, and swapped his eye-patch to avoid the awkward confrontation, knowing that Akito would be lost in the situation that he was given. "Eh? Agito?" Akito blinked in confusion when his right hand suddenly swapped his eye-patch, letting Agito take over once again.

"Akito? Did you just say..." you trailed off, now realizing who you were hugging - Agito. You pulled away from him, your hands on his shoulders to take a good look of the position of the eye-patch ,"Oh! It's sharky!" you cheekily grinned to see your savior, you lightly hugged Agito. Not a tight, over-friendly hug, but a thankful hug that said it all ,"You know you're my only friend, right? I... I don't want you to ever do that again, even when you are risking your life to save me." you quietly mumbled, burying your face against his shoulders.

Only friend? F**k! That's... not true.
Agito's heart beated in a somewhat controlled, but intense motion ,
"D**n, you're naive! Who do you take me for, anyways?!" a stubborn hiss growled out, slightly offended at what you said, but he stood silent and lowered his head, his chin on your shoulder ,"So what? I'm suppose to let you die? -- just like that?"

You quietly nodded.

Frowning at your stupid answer, Agito whapped his hand over your head and brushed you off ,"Che, you know I live each day on the edge! You should know f**king better than that!"

You lifted your head to face him, realizing the fact ,"Oh, yeah. I forgot. You have a higher chance of dieing than ME! - even if you aren't gunna go 'hero'!" you awed, your hands on your cheek at the recognization and bursted out laughing ,"I'M SORRY! I'M SORRY! You're like, a pro at these kind of stunts, I forgot." you snickered and stood up, sticking out your tongue ,"... but, y' know... I was scared to death when you saved me. I thought you might've been hurt..."

Agito only scoffed at your remark, he was always "up in your face" with that high and mighty attitude of his ,"Worry 'bout yourself." He jumped onto his two feet, murmuring some unheardable things as he brushed off dirt that stuck onto his pants, but as he lifted his head away from his pants, he noticed one thing that strucked his eye in attention ,
"Your..." he faintly whispered ,"... board." the boy had finished, staring at some scraps of wood and metal in the middle of the tracks.

"Hmm?" You glanced at the train tracks, noticing that your board was broken into pieces. It was during that time, you felt as if your "wing" had been torn, but you kept silent. "Mmm, I'll get a new one!" you optimistically giggled. No, I can't. That's the only one they've ever made, and it was made only for me. Ah, how am I going to tell them? It was for my birthday, too. You simply faked a smile, glancing at Agito, hoping he didn't see through your stupid act. How pitiful, is what you thought of yourself - pitiful.

With a sorry look in his scournful eye, he began to speak in a command ,
"Get on my back!"

"Why?!" You suddenly shot back at him in suspicion, laughing nervously and swiftly jumped back.

"... Don't ask why! F**K! Nobody listens these f**kin' days!"
the shark-like boy sweared, he bended his knees a little when you hesitantly jumped onto his back ,"... If you fall, it isn't any of my damn fault."

You frowned at his warning, wrapping your arms around his shoulders carefully ,"Where are we going?"

Agito kept quiet as his airtrecks began to spurt out sparks, and in a flash - both of you were in the midnight sky.

"Hey, hey! Where's Boss- I mean... uhm... Kaito-sensei?" you curiously asked, worried if Agito didn't get back to Kaito soon, he might end up getting physically hurt.

"Feh." the blue-haired boy chose to ignore you question, but he could really care less.

You glanced down at his A-Ts, they were jagged and blue. You've noticed that it was different from ordinary airtrecks, this one was small, but definitely had some crazy power in them ,"You've gotten really good with airtrecks, haven't you?" you grinned, resting your chin against his shoulder ,"... but... a lot of things have changed in these past two years. You aren't able to expand your skills with airtrecks being cooped up with Kaito-sensei. I know! I know! You fight plenty of strong opponents, but you could beat them like it's no breeze!"

"Najika," Agito called your name for the first time in a year.
Yeah, that was what they called you - it was what you were commonly called as. "Najika" was your middle name, but it meant "rainbow", connecting the earth and the sky. You've only seen the rainbow once in your lifetime, but that one rainbow that captured you in daze was one rainbow that was incomparable to other rainbows - that rainbow was like... a path, a chain, a connection -- a road.

"Yeah?"

"You're heavy."

You cracked your knuckles at his random honesty ,"W.h.a.t...?" you disdainfully growled ,"It's not MY fault that you are so light and skinny! You should be used to this! You fight enemies ten times bigger than me, and they have definitely tried to crush you with their weight! So I should be an exception!" Pouting, looked away in a childish manner ,"Gee, whoever knew that the big bad shark can't even carry a girl."

The ex-Fang King sneered a "whatever".

Glancing back at the boy, you grinned cheekily and widely at him for no apparent reason at all.

Agito noticed your burning smile boring onto his back and glanced at you in the corner of his one eye, irritated ,
"What now...?"

"I don't know, but I've been thinking," you shrugged lightly, unsure of what to say ,"... mostly about freedom." Yeah, that was one thing you have dreamed of - freedom. Everyone's view of freedom was different, you knew; and your view was something like a rainbow. To you, freedom was like an alliance of peace, no more sadness, and only happiness. Yet, that was impossible to achieve.

You winced a bit at the rough landing Agito had when he landed on a certain high rooftop in the city to examine the surroundings. It wasn't long before he began to take flight once again and waste two more minutes jumping over buildings. A moment of silence was awkward, but it soon ended when he arrived on a balcony of your apartment. Yup, you had an apartment, but occupancy was "0" if you didn't count yourself. It was lonely sometimes, too. Your dad was always at work and out of the city or country to take part of important missions. Family? It was just you and your dad, but you couldn't really call him your "dad" since....

Jumping off the short boy's back, you smiled appreciatively at him, giving a mouthed 'thanks' to him. When you blinked, you noticed something rather strange and began to snicker a bit, only to receive a glare from Agito ,"You're so short! I thought that you might be around my height by now, y' know!" you teased, patting his head cutely. You were of average height - which was at leastsome inches taller than the poor fellow. Not wanting to face the shorter lad's about-to-burst fury, you turned your attention toward the night sky andon the balcony's edge ,"... beautiful, isn't it?"

As if he had forgotten your "short" remark, he continued to flare his portruding capsules towards your thin frame:
"F**K! Why'd you have to pick this floor?! You know you could've gotten a lower floor than this s**tty one! Not to mention you have to WALK down the stairs since there's no f***kin' elevator." complained Agito, crossing his arms as his golden eye dimmed at you for a second before staring at what you were looking at.
... Seriously, he was an expert at finding something to blame sometimes.

You shrugged, taking a deep breath from it all ,"... I thought that if I chose the highest floor to live, I can finally touch the sky, y' know! The sky and the earth... - it's so different. The sky is so care-free and," you trailed off, shaking your head ,"I guess I've always wanted to feel that sensation. I believed I would have the chance to connect the sky and the earth." Giggling, you turned to the closed backdoors of the balcony and opened the unlocked doors and went in ,"Agito." you called out, looking over your shoulders and saw that he wasn't there.

Air trecks... I should get some soon.
You sleepily yawned, jumping onto the couch lazily, your hand over your head. It was dark in the living room. Only the wind and the beeping of cars in the streets could audibly be heard from several floors away. Soon, you slipped into deep sleep, unaware that someone was actually still there.

"Idiot..." Agito murmured, pushing himself off the shadowed wall of your apartment ,"... she didn't even notice me standing there." he grumbled, walking toward you and glanced around at the cold, but warm-looking atmosphere. He straightened his posture, turning on his heels, but stopped and took one quick glance at you, his eye reading in a dark glow. Someday, I'll be forgotten... and I can't even make a sign that I existed. the stormrider grimly thought ,... even if a bite mark has been placed, it'll be gone as time passes. Agito gruffly huffed, walking toward the backdoor and outside of the balcony, kicking the door closed.

"I don't want you to forget me."
Break the chain...

When did you become the only one who faced forward while they all stood and looked back, frozen in time.
