An Unexpected Conversation
The next morning I woke up around 11am with only a light headache and happy memories of last nights events. But today, it's back to being a guy. I had a shower and got changed. I took a look at my self in the mirror and noticed slight bruising around my nose, oh well. I walked down the stairs, on my way to the kitchen when the door bell rang.
"I'll get it." I said not knowing if anyone else was around.
"Can I help you?" I asked as I opened the door to reveal Rebecca.
"I'm looking for Demetrio."
"Just a second." I said a little confused as why she'd be looking for Demetrio when he arrived 20 minutes after I did.
"Castiglia!" I shouted hoping that he wasn't home.
"Just a second." He called back from somewhere up stairs. He came down in the process of putting on his shirt.
"What is it Luc?"
"You've got a visitor." I said moving aside from the door.
"Do I know you?" He asked walking up to the door.
"Im Rebecca."
"Rebecca who?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. He's very cute when he's confused I thought to myself.
"Rebecca DiMaggio."
"Unhuh, what do you want?"
"I was wondering if you would like to go out for coffee of something." She asked with cockiness
"I'm sorry but I've got plans for the day that don't involve you. Anything else?" He asked in an annoyed tone
"No, that was all. Sorry I bothered you." She said. She turned quickly on her heel and stomped back to the car.
"That was harsh." I said from my seat in the living room, he walked over and took a seat adjacent from me.
"You have to be if you don't want a girl to bother you again. Besides if your uncle found out I went on a date with a DiMaggio after what they did to my family I'd be spending the rest of my life pushing up daisy's." he said with a chuckle. "How's your nose?"
"You mean you didn't notice the bruising?"
"I was trying to be polite, is it still sore?"
"Only if I move my head from side to side or up and down." I said with a laugh
"I've got a trip to Sicily coming up with Vinni Vazzi, you want to come?"
"Ah, sure why not. It'll be nice to be back home."
"Luc, can I see you in the Den." My uncle asked as he passed by.
"Sure thing." I said getting up.
"What did you do, break curfew last night?"
"No, I was home on time last night unlike you." I said walking off after my uncle, wondering what was wrong.
"Have a seat Luc." He said when I walked in. I took a seat, I was a little nervous.
"You might want to take a look at this before I say anything." He tossed an envelop addressed to him at me. I opened it and began to read the Italian words.
Prendere cura.
Molto Amore
Connie.

My expression went from nervous to fear as I read what my mother wrote. She exposed me for who I really am.
"Before I say what I have to say, try to justify why you did what you did." He said leaning back in his chair.
"I'm so sorry I didn't mean for you to find out this way, I really didn't."
"That's not an explanation. Cominciare a spiegare."
" Principalmente ho voluto una probabilit a vendicare che miei padri assassinano. Ho saputo che poich ero donna che non sarebbe consentito. Ho pensato che se potrei convincere tutti, anche lei lo zio, che ero uomo poi potrei vendicarlo." I said in sicilian dialect which was easier while explaining myself.
" Vedo, cos quando lei ha progettato su dire lei che mio nipote era effettivamente il mio neice?" He replied still keeping his cool
" Presto, giuro giusto che piaccio realmente lavorare per lei. Mio padre me ha insegnato queste cose per finch posso ricordare. Sono cos spiacente. Se lei vuole inviarme sostiene capir." I said trying to hold back some tears, that's what I hate about being a girl, we're too emotional.
" Non l'invier sostiene, giusto? Non l'esporr anche. Da ci che sento suo molto bravo in ci che lei fa. L'aiuter anche trova le persone che uccidono suo padre, mio fratello." He said as he stood up and gestured for me to follow him out onto the balcony.
"That is fair, I know I wont be able to remain this way for ever maybe not even a year, but for now I want to."
"I understand completely." He said pulling me into a hug. "You remind me of your father, he would have pulled a stunt like this."
"I learned from the best" I said with my trademark smile.

The english version of the conversation is in the results. Hope you didn't mind the Italian.

Dearest Alonzo
How are things in America? I thought i would write to make sure everything was going okay. I didn't recieve anything notice that my Lucille arrived safely. I trust she's treating her uncle with the utmost respect and not causing any trouble. I've been able to come out of hiding since Lucille left. I guess they have nothing against me living. Give my love to my dearest daughter Lucille. Take care.
Much love
Connie

My expression went from nervous to fear as I read what my mother wrote. She exposed me for who I really am.
"Before I say what I have to say, try to justify why you did what you did." He said leaning back in his chair.
"I'm so sorry I didn't mean for you to find out this way, I really didn't."
"That's not an explanation. Start explaining."
"Mainly I wanted a chance at avenging my father's murder. I knew that since I was a woman it wouldn't be allowed. I thought that if I could convince everyone, even you uncle, that I was a man then I could avenge him." I said in sicilian dialect which was easier while explaining myself.
"I see, so when did you plan on telling you that my nephew was actually my niece?" replied still keeping his cool
"Soon, I swear it's just that I really enjoy working for you. My father has been teaching me this stuff for as long as I can remember. I'm so sorry. If you want to send me back I'll understand." I said trying to hold back some tears, that's what I hate about being a girl, we're too emotional
"I'm not going to send you back, okay? I'm also not going to expose you. From what I hear your very good at what you do. I'll even help you find the people that kill your father, my brother." He said as he stood up and gestured for me to follow him out onto the balcony.
"So your not mad?"
"Just a little hurt is all. I understand why you did it. It was smart on your behalf, if you would have came to me and asked to take part in this world I probably would a denied you it."
"I knew that, that's why I did this. So I can continue to work for you?"
"Yes. I'm going to guess you went out last night so you could be a woman for a little bit."
"Correct, it was fun. But I'm not ready to go back to being a woman full time, okay?"
"I'll not only honor that, but I'll allow you to go out twice a weekend Friday and Saturday to be yourself. You can even stay at a hotel, is that fair?"
