You gasped as you ran a scream following you as you bolted down the hall
"GRAB HER!" the high pitched yet gravely scream followed you as you scrambled up the stairs a cutlass striking the wood and humming as it just missed you leg. You cried as you ran tears running down your pale cheeks as silver hair curled around your face. Bare feet pounding on the wooden floor of the ship as you finally scrambled out of the hold and out on to the deck running over to the edge you heaved yourself onto the railing holding a rope as the pirates following you emerged, followed by their captain who laughed as he saw were you were standing.
"You'll drown little girl, now come back on deck, you my possession, you'll obey your masters orders." He said His face had blood on it you felt sorrow and anger boil in your blood
"You shall never have my body not as long as I have a way to escape, I'd rather rot at the bottom of the sea then be your whore!" you yelled just as another man yelled out
"Captain it's another ship!" you turned, Approaching fast was indeed another ship a lambs head on the bow a pirates flag fluttering in the wind depicting a skull wearing a ...
"Straw hat?" you murmured, for a moment distracted by the odd ship The captain lunged forward grabbing your wrist, you screamed loudly beating at his arm as he tried to pull you back on the deck. You pulled hard to free yourself as the ship approached his grip slipped as you tugged your eyes went wide and you over balanced backwards falling off the railing the ocean rushing up to meet you, you would rather drown then be his slave
"Wait for me brother."

Nami held Luffy back as Zolo hit the water swimming fast he could see the pale form sinking before him as he swam, They had seen the scuffled on deck and even heard the girls scream despite the wind that carried in the sails then she had fallen, Zolo hadn't even paused to think he launched off the railing before she even hit the water. Why wasn't she swimming trying to get to the surface? Was she awake?
On deck Luffy, Nami, Sanji, Chopper, and Usop all ran to the rail searching the water just as a green head broke the surface. Zolo with you firm in his grasp holding your head above the water as he swam towards the Merry Go. Nami rushed to get the ladder before tossing it down to him He grabbed it tightly keeping you in a firm grasp as the crew haled the two of you up and onto the deck, Chopper ordered him to lay you out while he checked your vitals
"CPR she's not breathing." He said firmly Zolo Frowned watching as Nami knelt pinching your nose closed and blowing air into your mouth your chest rose and chopper gave her the next step it was a moment later you coughed hacking up sea water. The ship you had fallen off drew along side the Merry Go, the captain smiling
"Oh thank god you caught her, if you be so kind as the return her I'd be most grateful." He said smiling his eyes sharp and unwelcoming Zolo frowned glaring at the captain before Luffy shook his head
"Why? You were hurting her." He said evenly his innocent mind knew the difference between horsing around and real fear this white girl had been running away trying to escape. You shifted groaning the captain frowned
"Just hand her over and dont ask questions." He said sharply, he needed to keep her quiet he needed her in his possession before she woke up and gave him away. Nami, Sanji, and Chopper frowned before looking at Luffy who again shook his head
"I don't think so; if she was running away you guys must not be good at all." He said evenly Zolo arched a brow, wow Luffy acting smart? That was a first... You shifted groaning again before your eyes fluttered open the milky white irises causing every one to gasp.
"She's blind." You heard a male say as you sat up holding your head the captain swore, the secret was going to get out
"Vera! Get over here now!" he snapped you paled before scooting back shaking your head
"No, Please don't make me go with him he sells children!" you said loudly He swore
"You talkative botch!" He snarled Your eyes flashed red though nobody but Zolo seemed to notice as every one else had turned their attention to the captain who had lunged across the gap between the ships you could see his glowing form charging right at you and through up you arms crying out before a sound of a fist connecting with a jaw you saw the glowing form of the captain flying to the side and crash into something
"Y-You... Your arm grew you ate a devil fruit didn't you?" the man demanded the person who hit him laughed
"Yep I ate the Gomu Gomu fruit now I have a rubber body!" he said proudly you stilled he had eaten a devil fruit as well? How interesting... the captain shifted and you stilled
"Luffy His left hand he has a knife!" you warned The boy blinked surprised when you said his name but as the captain lunged forward at the darkness were Luffy most likely was you saw a glowing streak move faster then you'd ever seen before there was a clash of metal and everything went silent before the glowing form of the captain collapsed forward and the glowing streak that had attacked him stood
"Thanks Zolo!" The boy Luffy said brightly as several glowing figures from the other ship came over crying out for their captain gathering him up they were quick to make their way back onto their ship some one touched your shoulder and a glowing form wove it self together before you a girl
"Are you ok?" she asked
"I'm fine... thank you..." You said softly as the glowing ship pulled away from you, your home... your bothers body leaving...
" So what your name?" the voice was bright and almost alarming as some one came close they were still in shadow your reach out touching his face lightly his glowing form appearing in front of you, a straw hat on his head
"Youre the captain Luffy aren't you..." you said softly the boy smiled
Yep you know me then?" he said proudly "this is my ship and crew, Nami, Sanji, Chopper, Usop, and Zolo, the guy you pulled you out of the water." He said evenly
"Only because you can't swim Luffy." He said firmly
"Now I'm all soaked, and you were just letting yourself sink." He yelled rounding on you, you smiled
"Eaters of the devil fruit can not swim, I'd have rather drowned then stay on that ship." You said evenly before standing
"The others... what do they look like?" you asked holding out a hand Luffy looked at you confused
"She's blind Luffy she touches a person's face thats how she finds out what we look like." Someone said
"Yes thats right but my blindness isn't natural, I became blind when I was fed the devil fruit, now in exchange I can see the future that how I knew that man was going to attack Luffy." You explained. Joukei Joukei fruit, the sight sight fruit, it had taken away your sight and in exchange had given you foresight, and not a day went by that you didn't regret eating that damned fruit. Something brushed your hand and you kneeled running your finger carefully across a furry face as Choppers glowing form took shape before you.
"You are?"
"Chopper." He said warmly you smiled nodding before standing as someone else grabbed your hands putting them on his face you blinked surprised by a rather long nose
"I'm Usop Ma'am the famous pirate." He said broadly causing the others to groan a small laugh escaping you was your hands traced the face of the last man there
"So you must be Sanji?" you question he nodded and you hand knocked something
"A sucker?" you murmured surprised before pulling away and bowing
"My name is Vera Won, Former singer and entertainer of 'the catalyst' I'm glad to meet you all." You said evenly Luffy jumped up
"Thats great, you can sing? Then you can join my crew!" he said brightly you looked up surprised.
"I-I can what?" you asked shocked he grinned
"Yah We need a singer as part of our crew you'll do fantastically, If I'm going to be king of the pirates I need to finish my fantastic crew." He said brightly. You were stunned before smiling
"I would be honored to join your crew Mr. Luffy." You said warmly unaware of the sharp green eyes watching you before he wet off to go change into some dry cloths muttering to himself.

You smiled as Nami opened the cabin door you hands running along everything the whole room quickly weaving it's self in your mind as you did so
"This is amazing you don't sleep in a cage or anything?" You asked warmly turning to Nami with a smile she looked at you oddly before shaking her head
"Of course not, why would you ask that." You blushed lightly
"Well ever since I can remember the captain made us sleep in little cages." You explained Nami frowned
"That guy was terrible... Who is he I've never herd of him and I'd know if he had some sort of bounty or treasure." She said evenly you shrugged
"Every one just calls him captain, he's not very nice he killed a lot of kids because they fought back because they didn't want to be sold... He only kept me because I could sing,,, and my brother he... w-well he..." you trailed of surprised to feel tear running down your face
"Vera." Namis alarmed cry surprised you as did the tender fingers that wiped you face
"Youre here part of our crew now... you can cry if you need to." She said softly you felt tears welling and you cried, harder then you ever hand before, and that was how you spent your first evening on the Merry go.
