Alrightey, this chapter is shorter than the others, I know. But, hey, at least it isn’t as short as the first chapter. Part 19, will be out soon once I finish Harry Potter book[I got it yesterday]. Okay, I really suck at this, but I forgot to write who made this banner. So, if you ever make me a banner, please make sure to put a copyright symbol on it or something. Sorry! Now on with the show!

Jennifer’s POV

“Um, hi.” I said moving quickly from my locker and tried to get away from her stare, she just followed me.

“So, how did you enjoy your long weekend?” She asked, her arms crossed over her chest.
“No offense, Ava, but you haven’t talked to me since 8th grade. Why are you talking to me now?” I ask, rather rudely. I seemed to have ‘stumped’ her. She stopped and her arms fell to her sides.
“I-I-m sorry, about what I did 5 years ago, it wasn’t the smartest thing to do but you have to let me explain,” I nodded assuring her to go on. “Well, after your mother died, you acted very strange. I couldn’t understand why my best friend felt like she couldn’t talk to me. Then, that day in the cemetery when—well that happened, I thought you hated me for something.” She took a breather and looked at me to see if I was following.

That day in the cemetery, was a horrible day. It poured rain like soldiers going to war, thousands of droplets hit the damp, now soaked, muddy grass. It was two weeks after my mother passed; I came to talk to her. I was hoping, somehow, someway she could protect me from her husband. I was limping, surely, and my clothes covered my bruises.

“Mom, dad’s been awfully mean to me. See these?I said lifting up my pants leg to see a large bruise.
“Jennifer? Why do you have a bruise there?Ava appeared.
“Nothing.” I said quickly pulling my pants leg down.
“Jennifer, you’re lying. Best friends are supposed to tell each other the truth.”Ava nagged.
“WELL, MAYBE I DON’T WANT TO BE YOUR BEST FRIEND!I bellowed. Ava didn’t mutter another word, and left the cemetery. I looked back at my mom’s tombstone and sobbed.
“Mom, what do I do?” I asked as lightning struck and I alone in the storm.

“Go On.” I said, after I reminisced about that horrid moment.
“Okay, well, where was I?—Oh yes, I remember now. I never hated you Jennifer but when I saw your dad, on the news during the weekend. It made sense. He hit you didn’t he, Jen?” She said staring into my light blue eyes.
“Yeah, he did.” I said breaking eye contact.
“Jennifer, I’m sorry. Can you forgive me?” Ava asked, her chocolate eyes glittered with hope.
“Only, if you forgive me first.” I said smiling slightly. Ava smiled and hugged me. We broke apart, “I missed ya, Jenni-fern.” Ava said smiling.

“Me too, Avis, me too”
