Tasha walked briskly, still holding the dog.
Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god.
Monroe yipped. He wanted to be let down.
But he walked too slow; Tasha wanted to get away from there as fast as she could.
From what? Him?
She knew that wasn't really true.
Oh my god. Oh my fucking god. What if he's following me?"
She looked back warily. All she saw were the usual random people on the street. No Gabe.
She turned back around and slowed down. She let Monroe with a sigh.
Once in a while she would turn around, to see if he was following her or not.
From what she saw, he wasn't.
"False salvation,"
After she walked away, Gabe stared after her.
You dumbass, this is your chance. Follow her.
He started walking, almost running to catch up with her.
Wait. If she sees you, she'll run. She'll cause a scene. Pretend you're trying to kill her or something.
He slowed down, but kept walking in the direction he saw her leave.
After about five minutes, he saw her, up ahead, still carrying her dog.
He fought the urge to call out her name.
What are you going when you catch up to her? What if you get to her house? What if she sees you?
He pushed those thoughts out of his head.
Gabe saw Tasha starting to turn around.
He quickly ran into a space between two buildings. He could not let her see him.
After a while, he looked out again. She was walking away, her back turned to him.
He continued following her.
"Lost translation."
Tasha was about a block from home.
The whole way she kept turning around, to see if he was there.
Of course, he wasn't.
Just for the sake of it, she looked over her shoulder one last time.
She gasped.
Tasha was positive she saw Gabe run into a bookstore.
She ran the rest of the way home.
"You've been dreaming?
I've been screaming."
