Because You Smiled at Me: A Rock Lee Romance (Chap # 1)
I decided to start writing my own rock lee story (mainly because I realized that badgering others to do it for me was rude -_-) So, here's my first shot! I hope you like it! Please rate at the bottom. It'll take 2 seconds, and i'd really appreciate it!You run down the side streets and alleys of Konoha, quickly becoming out of breath. It all looks the same... you think desperately. Oh...which way?! Which way?! You bounce from one foot to the other in an agonizing dance of indiscision. I'll be late again! I'll be fired this time, i know it! Ohhhh which way?!
Eventually you descide to give it up to the oh-so-reliable ritual of "eenie meenie miney moe" and dart down another side street. It had been nearly six months since you had come to Konoha, but you still couldn't go anywhere without getting lost. Tears fill your pale blue eyes as you come to the realization that this street looks just as infamiliar as all the previous ones.
Ohhh...I'm going to be fired for sure! I'm such an idiot! You'd think I'd be able to do such a simple thing on my own!
You have to bite your lip to stifle the sob of hopelessness that rends its way up your throat. No sound escapes, but your chest feels like it's on fire. "Right or left? Right or left?..." You murmer as you come to a crossroad. Trying to drag yourself back into composure, you stand still for a moment and think logically.
Let's see...alright. The cafe` is near the center of town...' You think to yourself '...and the Hokage tower is at the center of the village...' You turn in a full circle in an attempt to spot the immense tower of the Hokage. After a moment you realize that it stands to your left, a little ways behind you.
"Then I take the left road." You say out loud to yourself. The realization that you aren't completely helpless calms the butterflies in your stomach. You already felt foolish for your tears.
Running at breakneck speed down the left path you soon realize, however, that some basic understanding of the village's layout would have been much more valuable then logic. Every street you walk down seems to lead to a dead end. In the end you are forced to run back down the path you had come, tears making a reappearance behind your eyes.
"Ohhhh! I'm lost! I'm so stupid! I'm--"
You suddenly feel yourself hit something very hard as you rounded a corner. You bounce back and land on your bottom as you clutch your head and try to make out your surroundings. It was only when you blinked the dizzyness out of your eyes that you realize you had run head long into a boy.
"Oh! I'm so sorry!" You cry, perhaps more zealously then neccisary--but the self-admonishments you had just been doleing out melded smoothly into the shame of knocking into an innocent bystander. God, you were stupid! Why couldn't you just hide under a rock?
"I'm sooo sorry!" You blathered on, tears filled your eyes."Sooo sorry."
The boy was already back on his feet, brushing dirt off of his green jump suit.
"Do not worry about it!" He said cheerfully, "I should have watched were I was going!"
You look at the boy closely through your tear blurred eyes. He seemed to be about your age, his hair was black and bobbed. He looked a bit odd, with his green jump suit, but he had a kind face, and he wasn't angry with you...he was smiling...
"...N-no, really..." You stammer, still sitting on the ground. "I was running and I wasn't paying attention."
The boy walks over and offers you a hand up. You take it, rather taken aback by this show of chivalry.
"You look a bit...out of sorts." The boy observes, and you are surprised to see a genuine look of concern on his face. "You are not hurt, are you?"
"No! Really, I'm fine...um..." You blush lightly as you realize you don't know the boy's name.
"My name is Rock Lee." The boy says brightly, gesturing to himself. "What is your name?"
"O-oh!" Your blush deepens as you realize you had not expected him to ask you such a thing...What's wrong with me?' You think savagely. 'It's not like that's a difficult question...
"Cheza." You tell the boy called Rock Lee. "My name is Cheza Momoto."
You try to force a smile through your panic. The boy, however, seemed to have no trouble smiling broadly.
"I am very pleased to meet you, Cheza-chan...is there some way I can help you?"
"Well," You murmur looking around rather hastily. You were sooo late! You press your fingers to your trembling lips. "Well...I'm rather...lost at the moment. I-I need to get to The Green Leaf Cafe`, and I--" The words stick in your throat, and you gesture around you in a wordless attempt to show that you lost your way.
Lee nods to show that he understands and takes you lightly by the hand. He gives you another dazzling smile that brings the pale pink blush back to your cheeks.
"I know where that cafe` is, Cheza-chan. I can lead you there if you like; but only if you promise me one thing first?"
You look into Lee's large eyes and nod vigorously, although wondering what he could possibly want from you.
"Promise me you will not look so sad?" He smiles again at the incredulous look upon your face, and then takes off leading you down a sidestreet toward the cafe`.
