Haunted
When he heard the click of your lap top closing, Uryu turned to look at you. You grinned sheepishly, wishing to have gone unnoticed for at least a moment longer. He only turned back around, staring at something on the wall. "This charm... where did you get it?" You thought for a minute. 'Charm?'
You blinked at him before looking to see what he meant. It was a small cross that you framed and hung to keep safe. "Oh that... my great grandfather gave it to me a long time ago." You smiled in spite of yourself. "He's dead now though." When you turned back to Uryu he was looking at you from the corner of his eye. He looked almost creepy. "So uh..." You gave a small laugh. You were probably looking very stupid at this point in time. Dealing with people was not your strong point, last you recalled.
He looked one more time at your charm before he came and set his bag on the table. "So what's in the bag anyways?" You gazed curiously at it. You remembered Uryu saying he was going to help with something... but you couldn't remember what with. He emptied the contents onto your table. You watched as needles, thread, and fabrics fell onto the wooden surface. Oh yeah, sewing... perfect. You'd need more cookies for this situation. Glancing over at your few cookies left, you were wondering if Uryu might get impatient if you asked to get more first. You didn't really want to sew at all at the moment.
When Uryu sat on the other side of the couch, you figured it'd be too late to even ask to get more cookies. You reached back and turned on the lamp behind the couch. It would be better if you could at least see what you were doing. "So, what first?" You looked at all of the things on the table. It was so confusing already.
Uryu fixed his glasses, looking at the contents on the table. What did he expect? You had no clue when it came to sewing. Hence you needed help to not fail. He picked up a needle and thread and set them aside, closer to you then him. "Thread the needle." You blinked at it. Threading a needle... now how did you do that? You picked the needle up and examined it closely, finding the tiny hole for the thread. 'Through there...?' You picked up the thread next and attempted to put the end through the tip of the needle. Not an easy task at all! You could tell this wasn't going to be pleasant...
"Yeah, I think that one's bleeding too..." You grimaced as you put another band-aid on your hand. Hadn't you been afraid of pricking yourself before you even started? You knew this would happen. Which is why you always hated the thought of sewing. Once you were done, you didn't think there was one spot on your hand that didn't have some part of a band-aid on it. You sighed, leaning back on the couch. 'I hate sewing... It's official.' The couch shifted as Uryu stood to leave. "Oh wait!"
You stood up as fast as you could. "I've been such trouble... How's about I buy you something to eat?" Food seemed to be your favourite thing at the moment. You only now realized that your question seemed awkward. He probably thought so too. Now you just felt like an idiot for even thinking about it.
"I'm fine." He fixed his glasses before heading towards the door. You held it open as he walked out. Slowly he turned to look at you with that almost creepy look again. "I'll be back tomorrow." You nodded and shut the door before half closing your eyes. Way to invite himself. You walked back into the living room, sitting on the couch and cleaning up the wrappers from the many band-aids you had to use. After that was done, you restocked on cookies and prepared to finally sit down with your computer.
"Etsuuuuu!" You fell to the side as someone attacked you. The high pitched voice was easy to recognize. You growled in annoyance and pushed Tsuki off you, taking care that she didn't hurt herself. You'd get blamed for it if she did. And with the way the week was going already, you just knew she'd end up hurting herself and getting you in trouble for it.
"Go away. Leave me alone." Before she even had a chance to go whine you could hear a very distinct 'pay attention to your sister' coming form the kitchen. Tsuki stuck her tongue out at you before reaching over to push buttons on your computer. There was no way you were going to let her touch it. Your computer was like a god to you. No way was someone going to screw with that.
You pushed her away again as your dad walked into the room. "Come on Tsuki, stop bugging your sister." Now you stuck your tongue out at her. You won, ha! Tsuki ran off into the kitchen and you rolled your eyes. Any moment now you'd get in trouble. You just knew it. Even if your dad came to your defence, Tsuki would get away with it. Spoiled brat...
"Dinner!" Oh, well that was better than you had expected. You were expecting more along the lines of 'Etsu!!' Followed by something evil... like a grounding. Well, so long as you weren't getting in trouble it was all good. Though you were a little mad that dinner was magically ready when you got to have time on the computer.
You walked into the kitchen and sat at your regular seat. You were about ready to dig into your pre-made plate when you looked up and saw your mother's glare. You blinked for a moment, trying to think of what she had the look on her face for. Raising your chopsticks, you smiled sarcastically. "Grace?"
"Don't think you've gotten out of trouble for bugging your sister Etsu." Didn't she have that backwards? You rolled your eyes and began eating, ready to run up to your room as soon as you were done. It would be your salvation until your mother forgot about giving you trouble. And no matter how much she whined, it was the one place Tsuki was not allowed.
You finally got to sit at your computer, your headphones on so you could ignore any summonings from your mother. Demon Hunter's My Heartstrings Come Undone was blaring in your ears, vibrating your headphones every bass note. Just as the song changed, you could hear some kind of ringing. Looking at your CD player, you watched as the digital numbers flickered and became unclear. You narrowed your eyes and smacked it, trying to make it work. When that didn't work, you picked it up to examine it. 'Stupid thing...'
A slight fuzz started to sound over the headphones. With a mild wonder you turned down the volume. Out of nowhere the ringing increased to the point it was an unbearable pitch. The fuzz sound grew louder as well. Freaked out you threw your headphones off with a small yelp, watching them fall to the floor. You stared at them with wonder and caution. What the hell was the matter with them? They were brand new...
'Get out...' Your eyes widened as you looked around your room. Nothing was there. The voice was distorted and dark. Nothing human. After listening for a few minutes the voice hadn't returned. Had you been hearing things? 'Get out... Get out NOW!' Following closely behind was a loud ear piercing scream. Fear consumed you. Nothing like this had ever happened to you before. Instead of trying to figure out what was going on, you ripped your lap top from its place and grabbed your headphones.
When you got out of your room, you felt heavy and fell to the floor, ramming the wall from your speed. You would have stayed put, your stomach queasy and head hurting, but when your door slammed shut it was enough incentive to get moving again. You ran into the living room, dropping your stuff on the table. Holding your head where you hit it, you walked over to the closet and grabbed a thick blanket and a pillow. You'd be sleeping on the couch for the night. And probably right up until you had the guts to go back in your room.
"Honey, what're you doing?" You turned to look at your mom as she walked into the room. Setting your blankets up, you were ready to flop down and try to sleep. "I heard a bang, are you okay?" You shrugged your shoulders, trying to make her go away. You didn't feel like explaining. She'd think you were crazy.
"I don't feel too good, that's all." You lied down and curled up under the blankets while your mom went to the other room to get a bucket. It'd be better to have one there in case you got sick, though the concept of it sitting there full all night wasn't a very nice one. It made you grimace. The thing about the bucket beside the bed that sucked... it made you feel worse.
She sat with you for a few minutes before you heard another set of footsteps come down the stairs. Your mom looked up and got a funny look on her face. When you turned, you saw your dad standing there. "What happened?" Your dad was a bit late for the story. You were wondering if he had been working on his own computer, or maybe he was on the phone.
Your mother glared a little, but said only what you had told her. You wondered why it took your father so long to get down the stairs, but didn't really care at the same time. If it was anything that you thought then it wasn't any biggie. "Dad, can you go get my uniform for me? I'll need it for tomorrow." He nodded without protest and rubbed your head before going to fetch it for you. You mother watched until he was gone before offering to make you something warm to drink. It was something you rarely protested, but you didn't think your stomach could really handle it.
Her eyes narrowed again before your dad came downstairs with your uniform and set it on the table. "Call if you need anything, alright?" You only nodded and closed your eyes. You were too tired to wonder why your mom was acting funny. You just wanted to sleep and to try not to throw up. As they went back upstairs you could feel yourself quickly becoming drowsy. It was like a godsend when you fell asleep.
You woke up to a knock on the door early in the morning. Glancing at the clock, you jumped up and cursed your mom for not waking you. You were going to be late for school. The knock sounded again and you trudged over to the door. Opening it, you came face to face with Nozomi. "Can I borrow a uniform?" She was whispering. She was probably in a bad mood or something. Her look screamed 'I stayed up all night'.
You sighed and gave her a simple yes. "But you'll have to go get it..." She looked at you funny for a moment. "Fine... I'll go get it." You didn't want to go back in your room any time soon, but you supposed that if Noz wasn't going to go up the stairs and through your door you'd have to. You just dreaded what would happen when you set foot in the room.
You trudged up the stairs slowly, wary of your room. It looked normal when you peeked into it. You walked into it slowly, watching for anything that was out of place. When you came to your closet, you slowly grabbed a uniform and got ready to leave. 'I told you to get OUT!' Your eyes widened at the sound of the inhuman voice. You had hoped it was gone.
You jumped and ran from your room and down the stairs. It earned a weird look from Noz. "I freaked myself out..." You gave her the uniform and went to gather your own from the living room. Noz merely nodded, calling you weird and going to change for school. You couldn't be bothered asking why she needed your spare uniform, you just wanted to get ready before you were late.

All through class you felt dizzy. You sat with your head down and barely paid attention.
"Hey Etsu, you ok? You're pale..."
He had caught you, that much was going your way. But now you had to deal with him too. "Are you stupid or something?!"
