"Where are we going Becks?" Evan asked looking up at Bill's chocolate eyes from her slouchy position.
"You'll see." He smirked at her disapproving face.
"I hate surprises, Will. You should know that after all these years." She grumbled.
"I know, I know, but this will be great you'll see." He grabbed her hand squeezing it slightly before returning it to the steering wheel.
She sighed, obverting her eyes towards the passenger window. Evan and William had been together for almost five years. They where happy, and deeply in love; they even had a two year old daughter, Isra. The only thing missing from their picture perfect-fairy tale lives was holy matrimony. Evan Scott was longing for the day she would become Mrs. William Beckett. But after the passing years, that window seemed to be closing and the reality of being a permanent girlfriend seem to be her future.
A future that she didn't want.
"We're here!" William chirped breaking her out of her daze. He existed from the car and helped escorted her out.
"Oh Will." She choked, give his had a light squeeze. They had arrived to the park that they had their first date. The place that neither of them had set foot upon in years.
"After you." He smiled extending his arm in front of them.
She looked around merrily till she found their tree. "Look Will! It's still here!" She gleamed stroking the faded initials that were whittled in to the trunk. At first, they didn't want their love be just another teenage cliche, but they came up with a way to make it their own.
"'WB and ES for life bitch' would live on the old oak forever. Picnic?" He asked pulling up a basket, which she replied with a nod.
"Thanks, I had a great time." Evan stated before popping in another bite of her strawberry pie.
"No problem." He said. The next few moments were filled with tension that neither acknowledged, but both knew why.
"Evan?"
"Yes Bill?"
"Do you have a problem with, you know, just being..." He stopped unable to grasp the word.
"Just being your girlfriend?" She finished, which he nodded stroking the back of his neck awkwardly. "Truthfully? Yeah, I do. It's almost like I'm not good enough for the full commitment."
"That's not true! I just," He sighed, messaging his temples. "I just, don't know what to do."
"William, I love you so much; we have a child together. But,"
I only taste the saline when I kiss away your tears

She paused taking a deep breath. "But if you cant ask me to marry you, then I guess I'll have to ask you. So William Beckett, will you be my husband?"
He looked at her in shock; his heart was beating rapidly. He was so sure that she was going to leave him, but then she threw him a curve ball.
"So, will you Bill?" She smiled tears rimming her eyes.
"Of course I will." He said bring her head towards his, kissing her forehead before trailing down to her welcoming lips.
