JAKE POV

When I woke up, it was in a state of panic. I had fallen asleep not long after Riley and left to take a bath. I could sense it was daylight outside but what I couldn't figure out was what had woken me up, more importantly, if Riley was okay.

A knock sounded at the door, patient and calculated. I wondered who it could be, and if it was safe to open the door. I had a feeling we hadn't escaped unnoticed, or at least, unaccompanied. When I looked through the provided peephole located at lower then my eye level, I spied a trim looking uniformed young man on the other side.

Butler. I suddenly remembered that along with things like private boarding and "Welcome Aboard" Champagne, the cabin came included with a butler. I had forgotten that detail and it annoyed me greatly. But I had to open the door.

"Good morning sir, I am Javier, the butler assigned to your room." He replied curtly and with the utmost respect. I laughed inwardly when I noticed a little flash of silver in his mouth. He couldn't have been any older then Riley and probably forgot to take out his tongue stud before he left for work.

"Javier," I said, "What would you rather be doing right now?"

The butler looked appropriately stunned and more or less surprised by my question. "Uh… s-sir?"

"You'd rather be sleeping I bet. I'd put money on it." A sudden thought occurred to me. "Is there any sort of supply of Lucky Charms aboard this lovely boat?" I asked.

The butler still in a slip of confusion took a long second to respond. "Lucky Charms? Of course."

I smiled, Riley would love this. I slipped a $100 bill into his coat pocket. "Bring me a few boxes and a gallon or three of milk and you can have the rest of the week off, unless I need you for something else. Does that sound good to you?"

Javier looked like someone had just slipped a winning lottery ticket into his hand. "Uh…."

"Great." I laughed, "Just knock when you come back." And then gently closed the door. I couldn't help but be pleased with my little response to the situation. It was childish to a point, but he probably appreciated the break. Besides, he got a pretty good deal. He was getting paid to do nothing, just had to bring me some cereal for Riley and got a nice tip in the process. Yep… I could do the whole, 'be nice to strangers' thing. With Riley being the exception of course.

Speaking of Riley: I raced up the stairs just to make sure she hadn't fallen asleep in the bathtub or fallen overboard. I let out a sigh of relief seeing her splayed out haphazardly under the plush covers and pillows of the king sized bed. She looked beautiful just lying there, peaceful and completely oblivious to the perils of her life. I decided I wouldn't wake her up until the butler had returned with probably the only thing I could think that would justify waking her up.

Half an hour a later I was standing over the bed, Lucky Charms in hand. I was sure just the smell alone would wake up; no need to shake the box.

RILEY'S POV

I know, for a fact, that most people can't be woken out of a dead sleep by the smell of cereal. Coffee maybe, or bacon, but definitely not Lucky Charms. And right now, the sugary smell that was distinct Lucky Charms was pulling me out of the comforts of paralyzed sleep.

"If what you had didn't taste so good I might be annoyed with the fact that you just woke me up." I mumbled into my pillow, not even bothering to open my eyes. I heard Jake let out a throaty chuckle. "I hope you have milk."

"Of course I have milk, and a bow, and better yet, I even have a spoon."

I smiled, pushing myself up and opening my eyes. I really couldn't be annoyed with him, he was my little…. Manservant. I laughed at the thought. Jake gave me an odd look but handed me the bowl without any questions. I took a nice long look at the bright colors that where slowly soaking up the milk they floated in. A spoon appeared in my hand and I wasted no time in spooning the first bite into my mouth. It had been far too long since I had a session with my miracle meal, even if it had only been a day or so.

Within five minutes I was pouring myself a second bowl.

"I think this constitutes gluttony." Jake retorted from the other side of the room. He had taken up residence in a plush looking chair that sat next to a vanity. I took me a second but I suddenly realized that he was still in his clothes from the previous day and that they where wrinkled. He probably fell asleep in them.

"Nope, just passion." I retorted. Jake just rolled his eyes. "You should go take a shower or something. You look like crap."

Jake looked down at himself. "You say things so eloquently sometimes." He said, attempting to smooth out a rather nasty looking crinkle that slashed itself halfway across his chest.

"And sometimes you sound like an old geezer." I said through a mouthful of cereal and milk.

Jake peeled off his corduroy jacket and threw it over my head. "You forget, that in reality, I am one."

"Hey!" I yelled, pulling off his jacket only to be hit in the face with his t-shirt. I removed that just in time to see him disappear, shirtless, into the bathroom.

"Stupid vampire." I growled to myself, quickly suppressing the sudden urge to fallow him in.

A/n: Short, I know. I'm sorry. But like I always say, "Something is always better then nothing." I just couldn't think of anything else to put into this particular chapter without having it sound really werid. I think that Jake was a little bit out of character in this particular chapter. But maybe he was just excited about 'running away' with Riley.
