"Come on, I wanna show my mum the ring," I said. He nodded and we went back out into the sitting room. I went up to my mum and tapped on her shoulder. She turned and smiled at me.
"Mum, look at my gorgeous ring. Harry got it for me," I said, holding up my hand.
"My goodness, he got that for you?" she asked, astonished. I nodded. "Well, he spared no cent."
"He said that I'm worth it," I said, smiling at Harry, who was talking to Ron again. He glanced at me and smiled.
"Is there something going on between you two?" Mum asked me.
"Somewhat," I replied.
"What do you mean?" Mum asked.
"Nevermind. It's nothing," I said. Mum looked unconvinced, but nodded. She walked over to Mrs. Weasley and they started a conversation. I went over to Harry, Ron, and Hermione. I sat down in between Harry's legs and he wrapped his arms around me.
Can you say, Best Christmas Ever!?
That's nice.
The rest of holidays went by relatively fast, and we were now boarding the train back to Hogwarts. Ron and Hermione went off, for they were back on Prefect duties, so it was just Harry and I in the compartment. Harry was leaning back against the seat, playing with my hair, twirling strands around his finger. I was leaning against him, spinning my ring around my finger absentmindedly. I sighed.
"Harry...have you ever thought of me as, more than a friend?" I asked randomly.
"Uhh...yes," he said. I looked into his eyes.
"When?" I asked.
"Well, in 2nd year, I wanted to ask you out, but I was afraid that you'd say no, so I decided that we were better off as friends. Then Cho-" Harry said.
"Ugh, I hate her so much!" I snapped.
"I couldn't tell," Harry muttered sarcastically.
"Harry, she just went out with you for shits and giggles!" I stated.
"I know," Harry said softly.
"All she wanted to do, was talk about Cedric. She treated you terribly," I said, taking his hands in mine. He sighed.
"I know. You're right. She did," he said, looking down.
"C'mon, where's that smile I love so much?" I asked, in an attempt to cheer him up. He lifted his head and smiled at me. I smiled back. "There we go!" He leaned in and kissed me.
"Now, there's the lips I love so much," he whispered. I raised a brow. He just pulled me into another kiss.
We were heavily snogging, when Ron and Hermione walked in. They sat down across from us.
"Hope you two weren't planning on doing more," Hermione said sternly. I smirked and straightened Harry's tie. He leaned back, smiling.
"Nah, we already did what it was, we wanted to do," I said, not so discreetly zipping up Harry's trousers. Both, Ron's and Hermione's eyes went wide.
Riiiight!!!
At Hogwarts, we were all walking into the Entrance Hall, when McGonagall approached us.
"Cauldwell, Professor Dumbledore, wishes to have a word with you," she said. I nodded and turned to Harry.
"I'll see you later," I said with a wink.
"Don't make me wait too long," he said. I smiled, then turned around and followed McGonagall, even though I knew the way.
"Professor Dumbledore!" I called in a sing-song voice, as I entered Dumbledore's office. He smiled his warm smile.
"Welcome Iris, please take a seat," he said, motioning to the chairs in front of his desk. I took a seat. "I trust you had a good holiday?" he asked.
"Oh yes, it was wonderful! How was yours?" I asked cheerfully. He chuckled.
"Quite nice, thank you," he replied.
"Not too nice, I hope," I said with a perverted smile. He got the joke and laughed.
"Not as much as I bet yours was," he joked. I blushed slightly.
"So, why am I here?" I asked, changing the subject.
"Well, we are having a dance of sorts near the end of this month. We do have a band, but the problem is, is they don't do ballads, so we were wondering if you'd like to perform a few," Dumbledore explained. I beamed.
"I'd love to, but if I'm singing the songs, how can I dance to them?" I asked.
"Well, the band will be taking appromixmately six breaks, in which we will play the slower songs. Two will be pre-recorded music, so that means we'd like you to sing at least four," Dumbledore said. I thought about it for a minute.
"Sounds great, but can I sing at least one, kinda, edgy ballad?" I asked.
"Of course," Dumbledore replied.
"Coolio! I'll start working on the songs," I said.
"Thank you, Iris. You may tell your friends. We will be announcing the dance at dinner."
"No problem, Dumbledore! You know you're the coolest Professor in Hogwarts history! Plus, those spectacles really just bring your whole outfit together! Have you been working out?" I exclaimed. He chuckled.
"I'm afraid not, but thank you for the compliments. You may go to your common room now," he said. I nodded, stood, saluted, then walked out of his office, and to the common room.
I walked through the portrait hole and spotted Hermione. I started towards her, when someone grabbed me around the waist from behind. I squealed and turned to see Harry, grinning at me. I smiled and pushed his arms off.
He grabbed my hand and kissed my ring. I chuckled.
"You really like this ring, don't you?" he asked.
"I don't like it, I love it," I replied. "Now, c'mon, I have something to tell you," I said, pulling him over to where Ron and Hermione were. "Alright, at the end of this month, there is going to be a dance-" I started, but Harry and Ron cut me off with their collective groans. "Okay, I'm going to ignore that, so I can tell you the good news. I'm going to perform at it!" I said excitedly.
"That's great!" Hermione said. "Is it formal?" she asked.
"Ugh, I hope not!" I said.
"Well, if it is, you're getting a dress," Hermione said. I gave her a disgusted look. "What? You skipped the Yule Ball, even though tons of blokes asked you," she added.
"I didn't want to go to the Yule Ball," I said.
"Neither did I, but I had no choice," Harry muttered.
"Well, Iris, you have no choice in this matter," Hermione said.
"Yeah, yeah, but if it is formal, I'm picking the dress," I stated.
"Well, in any case, would you like to go with me?" Harry asked out of the blue.
"Are you asking me out?" I asked.
"Yeah, I guess I am," he replied.
"Alright, but don't make a habit of this," I said. Harry laughed and gave me a kiss on the cheek.
At dinner, Dumbledore announced the dance. He said it would be formal. Basically every guy in the room, and a few girls, including me, groaned.
Aww, they're going to the dance together!
As the next week went by, I worked extremely hard on my songs. I made them one of my main priorities.
I was walking down an empty corridor, when a tune came to me. Within seconds, the words did, as well. I stopped walking.
"You use to call me your angel, said I was sent straight down from Heaven," I sang.
"That was beautiful," a voice from behind me said. I jumped and spun around to see Harry.
"Harry, don't scare me like that!" I said. He chuckled and approached me.
"There was a lot of emotion in those two lines," he said.
"It's about my dad," I said. Harry backed me up against the wall. "Harry, what are y-" I started, but Harry cut me off with a kiss. I kissed back.
"You two still at it," we heard Malfoy say. We pulled away from the kiss.
"Sod off, Malfoy," we said at the same time, turning away from him.
"I'm just saying, I would think that if I was shagging my best friend, things would begin to get awkward," Malfoy said, as we walked away. I shook my head and looked at Harry. He made a face.
"Harry, are you okay?" I asked.
"I'm fine," he said somewhat hastily.
"Do...do you agree with Malfoy?" I asked, shocked.
"No! No, of course not," he said. I raised a brow, but didn't press the subject.
That night, Harry was less than enthusiastic.
"Well, that was the best shag ever," I said, sarcastically.
"Sorry," Harry mumbled quietly. I sat up and stared straight into his eyes. He averted his gaze.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked.
"Nothing," he muttered.
"I know there is something wrong, so why are you shutting me out?" I asked angrily. Harry stayed silent, refusing to look me in the eye.
"Maybe...maybe, Malfoy is right," he finally said. My eyes went wide.
"Well...if that's the way you feel...I'll leave," I said, slowly and calmly, even though I was holding in the urge to punch him out.
I got up hastily and pulled on my robe, securing it around myself. I grabbed up my clothing, and stormed out of the boy's dorm, sporting a paticularly evil scowl on my face.
I stormed into the girl's dorm and slammed the door shut, groaning loudly. Every girl in the room turned to me, brows raised.
"What? I'm pissed off, and I'm wearing nothing but a robe! Move on with your lives!" I snapped. Hermione stood from her bed and came over to me.
"What's going on?" she asked in a whisper.
"Harry's a git! That's about it," I said, before walking past her and into the bathroom. I needed a shower desperately.
Omg! Malfoy is an IDIOT JERK! (Me: He's also a jerk idiot!) What's the difference? (Me: EVERYTHING!)
Yeah, I bet I know what most of you are thinking...that kinda sucks. Sorry, it's how the story goes. If you wanna blame someone, blame my MIND! Just don't argue with it, you won't win.
Here's a preview of Chapter 13:
I was on my way to meet Hermione in the library. I walked past a pressumbly empty classroom, only to find out, it wasn't empty.
I backed up to the open doorway, and looked in. What I saw made me feel mixed emotions.
Harry was snogging Ginny.
"Umm...hi!" she said cheerfully.
"Hi," I said awkwardly.
"Uhh...I know that you probably don't want to talk to anyone, but I'm a naturally curious person, and I saw you crying, so I decided to ask you about it," the girl explained.
"Sorry, but...do I know you?" I asked.
"Well, I'm in your year and I'm in Gryffindor, but we never really talked...ever," she said with a laugh.
"Really? What's your name?" I asked.
"Oceane Mysan," she said.
Doesn't that first preview make you want to punch something. It makes me feel that way. Oh, and new character, yay!
Bet ya'll can't bet who she's based on, haha. *cough*Oceane a.k.a. oliverismine*cough*
Oh, and sorry about not updating for a while. I moved, and haven't been on the internet until today.
