Prologue: Not that bad...
Boring!
Same thing everyday.
Ziffie looked down at her papers, all of them were finished like have been for about an hour. Being an office clerk was boring like Reika always said.
The blond-haired girl looked at the said person. Reika was unusually happy about being stuck at work. Last time she had been like this, Reika had painted the boss office pink.
Luckily the boss never knew that it was Reika. But this time she might not be so lucky.
Oh well her fault. At least she wasnt bored. All Ziffie had to do was listen to the clock go by.
Wait...that wasnt the clock it sounded like...oh dear.
The boss came in the room, his face beat red. But it wasnt only his face he was covered in red.
It looked like the mysterious prankster had been found out.
"REIKA!" the boss roared.
The brown-haired girl put on a innocent look- which fooled no one, "Yes?" she asked in a tone that match her look.
The boss's eye twitched, something that happened every time he was angry.
"YOUR FIRED!" he roared causing everyone in the area to look around.
"But sir-" Ziffie started trying to save her best friend but was cut in by the angry man in front of her.
"And you two!" he exclaimed, "No doubt you had a part in this!"
Reika smiled, "You need a good reason to fire us you know?" she said.
The boss smiled back, "Oh dont worry I do."
"I cant believe you got both of us fired!" muttered Ziffie angrily.
"He just cant take a joke all I did was put a bucket of paint over the door of the guy that we dont like and he happened to get hit instead.
Besides I think he hated me."
"I wonder why," A little bit of sarcasm there.
Ziffie flicked through the paper, hoping to find a good job but to no luck so far just mostly more office jobs. She really didnt want to do one of those in a while.
"Well it's not my fault he cant take a joke," Reika whined repeating herself.
"Trying to put paint all over someone isnt a joke," Ziffie replied sternly, turning a page and then stared in shock. Now that was a good one.
"What? WHAT? What is it Ziffie? I want to see!" Reika snatched the paper off Ziffie, "Complex reading ay?"
"No Reika!" Ziffie said shaking her head, "The one below it."
"So you want to be a baker Ziffie?" Reika looking at Ziffie surprised, "I didnt know you liked baking."
"Your looking at the one above it instead below it arent you?" Ziffie asked.
"Uhno...No Im not," was the sheepish reply.
Ziffie rolled her eyes and read out the ad under the complex writing. "Tired of normal city life? Sick of a boring job? Why dont you live in a wonderfully beautiful farm! Why dont you ring this number? Sounds good doesnt it Reika?...Reika?"
Reika was already at the phone; it looked like she already had rung up the place.
'How did she get the number?' Ziffie thought confused, 'I didnt even tell her it.'
As if on cue Reika hung up looking again sheepish.
"Well?" Ziffie asked raising an eyebrow.
Reika didnt reply instead she dialled up another number.
"Hello? This is Reika. Yes. We'd like to sell our apartment!"
"WHAT? REIKA!"
The farm was wonderfully...terrible. The field which was supposed to have seeds, plants and animals on it instead had oversized weeds, normal weeds and guess what? More weeds.
The cottage itself didnt look so crash hot either. It looked like it had been abandoned a long time ago. Even the tiles on the roof were falling out.
Ziffie frowned annoyed, Reika stared, their dogs, Ralph and Link played around the sea of weeds.
"Okkkk..." Reika started.
"What the heck?" Ziffie said in shock, "What happened to this place? Could someone tell us what happened here?"
As if it was on cue a man walked into the run-down farm. He was a man in about his thirties, with balding hair and a moustache. He wore completely red, Ziffie twitched at that fact. Red was the reason they were here.
The man walked around whistling to himself- until he noticed Reika and Ziffie. He looked at them in surprise and walked up to them.
"Hello are you two tourists?" He asked curiously.
Both of them shook their heads.
Reika piped up. "No apparently we live he now. The MT realtor told us that we could live on this...farm."
The man frowned, "You two are the new farmers?"
Ziffie nodded frowning again. Something told her they were about to be shocked.
"Yes we are," she said calmly though really she wasn't.
The man cracked up laughing,
"HAHAHA you've been tricked. This used to be a wonderful farm but as you can see, no ones been taking care of it."
"What!" Ziffie and Reika exclaimed in unison to shocked to notice.
"Not many people want to work on the farm now, so they decided to make the advertisement more attractive. Every now and then, who had seen the ad come here, just like yourself. But as soon as they see the farm they leave, just like that. Its been awhile since someone has been here though...as you can see you got fooled by that same cheesy ad. Hahahahaha- AHHH!"
Ziffie had cracked, hitting him with her brand new hammer.
"Go Ziffie!" Reika shouted, "Shut that guy up, he talks to much."
After awhile the man got up, rubbing his head.
"Ow," he groaned rubbing his head then taking off his now broken top hat,"My hat!"
"Now we have no job or home! Great!" Ziffie said sarcastically glaring at Reika who whistled innocently.
The red clothed men looked a bit upset." Oh I see you quit your job and sold your apartment or something like right?"
"Uh yeah....quit the job."
"Hey why dont you try and run the farm? The house is liveable, and actually quite comfy. (Ziffie looked at him surprise at that) If you work hard you might be happy, as the mayor (both Ziffie and Reika stiffened here) of this town I will help you much as I can."
"We will do it!" Ziffie shouted punching her arm up in the air triumphantly.
"Yay! Lets start now!" Reika shouted happily.
"Great! Now at 5pm everyday-except holidays a man named Zack"
Ziffie smiled farm life...how hard could it be?
