All was quiet in the village of Konoha. After the betrayal of their allies of the sound village everyone was trying to get life back to the way it was. Shops were getting fixed, signs were getting painted and people were glad that the village hadn't been totally destroyed. Mizuki leaned on the railing of the hokage tower looking down upon the people who were working happily as if they hadn't been to war at all.
'I'll come back for you one day I promise'
She sighed as she recalled the voice that she had heard in her head. Ever since the war had ended she'd had trouble going to sleep mainly because every time that she would close her eyes another pair of eyes seemed to always stare back at her. Not in a threatening way but in one that resembled an old friend. The only problem was she had no idea who that friend was and even doubted that they were real or not.
"Why do those eyes seem so familiar?" she sighed oblivious to the person standing right behind her.
"Who's eyes?" Mizuki jumped up a little, startled by the sudden voice but soon calmed down when she finally realized who it was.
"Oh nothing Sasuke, just looking down at the town." She turned and faced him for a while and then turned her attention to the tiny people that were walking on the ground below. Sasuke walked up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist and laid his head against hers.
"Usually nothing in your language is translated to something's wrong in my book" he joked. She smiled.
"Is it that obvious?" she asked and he shook his head. "Well sometimes when I close my eyes I..." but she didn't get to finish when she heard a loud crash and her name being shouted out.
"MIZUKI!"
Mizuki wriggled quickly out of Sasuke's grasp and turned to face her brother who was wildly running toward them.
"Mizuki did you hear? Gaara and his siblings are in the village.Come on lets go see them." He said bouncing up and down. Mizuki looked at him puzzled.
"Naruto who's Ga..." Naruto looked at his sister and Sasuke's ears perked up. He quickly placed a hand over her mouth to prevent her from revealing anything that might cause him to lose her.
"We were about to go over there right now, Naruto. Mizuki wanted me to meet her here because she wanted me to train her on her shuriken throwing." He said with a straight face. Mizuki raised an eyebrow and nodded her head at her brother. Naruto looked at the two suspiciously and nodded his head and ran off. Sasuke let go of Mizuki's mouth and she looked at him angry.
"What was that all about? Who's this Gaara person that my brother's talking about anyway?" she asked in a frustrated tone.
'If I reveal anything then I may lose her. It's just better that I lie and keep her here' he thought quickly. "He's just some loser that I beat in the chunnin exams thats all. So do you want to walk around town or something?" he asked. She smiled and nodded her head completely forgetting about her anger.
"That would be nice Sasuke"

'Mizuki' Gaara thought about the blond haired girl who he had to leave behind those months ago. He was excited about the fact that today he would reveal his feelings to her. He had taken this time to really open his eyes and see the real reason for living. Now he had a purpose. He had something that he could say he kept close his heart and it was all because of her. Sure he didn't completely get rid of being a little crazed on the inside, but he wasn't going to let everyone know that.
"Hey Gaara isn't that the blond kid from a while back?" Temari asked her little brother. He immediately broke free of his thoughts while Kankuro looked at the little orange dot that was running toward them.
"Yup thats him" he said. Gaara merely shook his head in agreement.
"Hey Gaara. How you doing? Did you get any sense knocked into you yet?" he joked around. The redheaded boy looked at him and shook his head. "Thank you Naruto Uzumaki. Thanks to you I realized that there are others that matter more than me."
Naruto waved his hand, "Ah don't mention it. It was nothing. Hey do you want to see my sister? I'm pretty sure that she wants to see you" the blond boy smiled as he nudged Gaara who blushed faintly. Temari and Kankuro laughed but were soon silenced when he looked at them in a mean way.
"I'll take that as a yes, don't worry I'll go get her. She's probably at home or something." He said as he bounded off for his home to retrieve his twin.
Temari smiled at his younger brother, "See I told you that she missed you."
(Ha ha ha-This is what I imagined Gaara to look like when his siblings rubbed it in. Kawaii X3!!!!!!)
"Yeah now's your chance to make things right" added Kankuro. Gaara nodded his head in agreement as the three continued to walk the streets of Konoha.

"Aw come on Sasuke not in front of everyone. People are staring at us" Mizuki said and blushed faintly. She tried to pry the Uchiha off her but he tightened his grip on her waist and continued to kiss her and tickle her.
"I'm afraid I can't do that. I just love you too much that I don't want to stop" he smirked. Mizuki laughed. "What's so funny?" he asked stopping.
She continued to laugh, "That was possibly one of the cheesiest things you've ever said to me." He raised an eyebrow at her. "So what I'm cheesy now?" He loosened his grip on Mizuki and she stood up.
"I never said you cheesy it's just you fall for the stupidest comments" she laughed.
He looked at her confused, "Hey" he yelled when she ran from him smiling. Sasuke smirked. 'Fine if it's a chase she wants then it's a chase she'll get'
Mizuki continued to run, and every once in a while looked back to see if Sasuke continued to follow. Of course playing a game of cat and mouse can lead to a person getting hurt and with Mizuki's lack of coordination she didn't see where she was running and of course ran into someone.
"Gomen Nasai. I guess I wasn't looking where I was going." She laughed as she scratched the back of her head. She looked up at the people she ran into and paused. She backed up in shock as she looked wide eyed at the main person she ran into.
"Mizuki?" asked a strangely familiar voice. She looked up to a boy with insomnia ridden aqua eyes and flaming red hair. She couldn't help but stare at his eyes.
'Those eyes, they're the same one's from my dream' she thought as she tripped on a piece of wood lying on the ground. She sat paralyzed with fear as he began to walk closer to her. So many questions flew through her mind. Mizuki wanted to ask how he knew who she was but was silenced when another voice spoke up for her.
"What are you doing here?" Sasuke spat as he helped a shaken Mizuki on her feet.
She studied his entire facial features and felt a small prickle on her forehead. It was all too much for her and she dashed away from the scene in front of her.
"No wait..." the boy with blue eyes called to her and began to follow ,but she looked back completely frightened at what she just saw.
"Shadow clone jutsu!" she yelled and four clones appeared and each of the look-alikes went their separate ways hoping that they would be able to lose the stranger behind them.

"No you don't." he said as he prevented Gaara from going after Mizuki." Now answer my question what are you doing here?" he asked him. Gaara looked at him anger rising in his eyes.
"I'm here to get something that rightfully belongs to me" Sasuke got angry.
"What are you some kind of animal? She doesn't belong to you. If she should belong to anyone it should be me" Kankuro stepped in front of his little brother,
"You know what I hate brats. Especially one's that take pride in no one other than themselves" he said and began to take Crow off his back. Sasuke rolled his eyes,
"I don't have time to deal with the likes of you. I have to find Mizuki" he told them and jumped off.

" Somethings wrong" Kankuro said to Temari who looked at the scene confused.
"Yeah I know what you mean. I mean didn't Naruto say that his sister wanted to see Gaara, but when she see's him it's like she didn't even know who he was anymore" she added. Temari looked at her younger brother who had lowered his head in sadness. She couldn't help but feel bad for him. They'd come all this way for him to see her, but when they'd finally met she'd run scared just like all the others in their village. She walked up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder,
"Come on Gaara lets go." She sighed. He smacked her hand away from his shoulder like a stubborn child.
"No"
Kankuro shook his head at Temari, and then faced his brother, "You know if I were you I wouldn't let a girl that cute get away." He smiled at his brother, "If you need us we'll be eating lunch that Temari was kind enough to pay for" he yelled as he lead his protesting older sister away.
'She ran' Gaara thought just before he jumped away.

"Mizuki! Where are you?" Naruto yelled as he ran through the streets of Konoha looking for his twin sister. "Mizuki!" he yelled louder.
"Naruto" the blond haired boy turned around and saw Sasuke race toward him with Sakura following right behind. After Sasuke had left Gaara and his siblings to fins Mizuki, Sakura ran into him and offered to help.
"Will you lower you voice you idiot, you're giving the village a headache" yelled Sakura. Naruto looked at Sakura with hearts in his eyes.
"Sorry guys I didn't mean to be so loud, I was just looking for my sister. By the way have you seen Mizuki around?" he asked. Sakura took a minute to think while Sasuke didn't hesitate to tell him,
"She went back home to get some sleep" he lied
"No she didn't I just saw her running toward the forest." said Sakura. Sasuke raised and eyebrow at Sakura.
Naruto looked at them both confused, "Well she's not at home because I just checked there. Hey Sasuke didn't you mention earlier that you both were training together?" he asked.
"Yeah we were but she told me that she was going back home to get some sleep" he lied again.
"Evidently not, but looking back it did seem like she was being pretty secretive when she was going in there. I wonder what she was doing in the first place?" asked Sakura. "Why do you need Mizuki anyway?" Naruto looked at her as if she didn't know.
"Don't you know that those sand village ninja are here?" Sakura tensed up as she remembered how the smallest of the trio had almost killed her off. Naruto looked at her and continued, "Well they're trying to gain back bonds or something with the village. So I was going to bring Mizuki see Gaara. I think he has a crush on her" he smiled evilly. Sasuke glared at his comment.
"Naruto are you even sure that she remembers him?" she asked him.
"Well..."
"Naruto maybe it's not a good thing for her to be around him right now. After all that's she's been through we're lucky that she even remembers us." She tried to reason with him.
Sasuke completely ignored the conversation going on and took this time to think to himself.
'I'm not going to lose her. Sakura's right Mizuki's not going to be around him anymore nor will she be around for anyone else but me.' Sasuke immediately raced off to find her.
"Sasuke" yelled Sakura
"I wonder what's eating him"
"Naruto you idiot" she said and smacked him on the head.

"I don't know who you are but something about those eyes tells me that I'm supposed to"
She whispered to the small photo of the mysterious aqua eyes that she kept seeing in her dreams. Mizuki then laid a flower and a note next to the frame and sat down near the small creek. Even though she didn't know who's eyes were they she had made a small memorial in remembrance of them. All while hoping that someday she might remember them too. After what happened just a while ago it was too hard to push it to the back of her mind.
'They're the same as that boy' she thought as she turned her attention to small photo on the ground. She sighed " I guess I better get going. The others might be looking for me, and Sasuke's probably dying to know where I went" she said as she got up and began to run out of the forest, but stopped only when she heard a small rustle in the leaves. She jumped back and faced the boy with the lonely aqua eyes. They stared at each other for a while. Leaves from the trees brushed past them, silently blowing in the wind.
Mizuki snapped out of her train of thought and proceeded to run frightened by his intense stare. Gaara glared at her attempt to flee. He had come all the way from Suna to get what rightfully belonged to him and he didn't plan on leaving without her. He extended his hand and grains of sand spilled from the gourd on his back and made their way toward Mizuki. She backed away to escape from his attack but the sand grabbed onto her hand and traveled down her body refusing to let go. She winced slightly and a single tear spilled from her eye when it began to constrict. Gaara walked toward her and gently caressed her soft cheek.
"I missed you so much" he whispered gently as he placed a kiss on the top of her forehead. Mizuki flinched slightly when his lips came into contact with her skin. She began to struggle to get out of the sand's grip. A burning sensation began to overtake her and it caused her to struggle even more.
"Stop it! Leave me alone!" she yelled. Gaara merely shook his head and looked at his soon to be prize.
"No. We made a promise remember? I told you that I'd come back for you one day, and you told me that you're heart was my heart."
Mizuki stopped struggling for a moment and recalled the same words that she'd been hearing in her dreams.
'I'll come back for you one day. I promise'
"It was our promise for each other" he raised his hand and placed it on her shoulder holding Mizuki in place, "and I'm going to seal it"
Her eyes widened when the grains of sand which were on her body began to travel to the nape of her neck and etch into her skin causing her intense pain. "It hurts" she screamed, hot tears ran down her cheek.
"Maybe this is the only way you can remember me" she heard him mumble as he continued to look at her.
"Hey I think she asked you to let her go"
Gaara turned around and glared at the dark haired Uchiha who stood tall with all his glory.
"So are you going to let her go or am I going to have to kill you?" he smirked as he jumped off from the tree he was standing on and walked toward Gaara. The red head looked at his enemy with passive eyes. He then motioned for the sand to bring Mizuki to him. He kissed the part of her neck that the sand had cut into and tasted a bit of her blood. He brought his head toward her ear ,"You're mine" he whispered in a possessive tone. Tears ran down her face and blood dripped down her shoulder. Sasuke glared angrily at Gaara. His hands rolled up into fist and his body shook.
"Put her down and leave loser or else" he threatened in a deathly tone. Gaara merely smirked at his jealous comment.
"Fine I will, but she's mine. As long as she bears the mark that I've given her, she belongs to me." He finished in a dark voice. The sand placed Mizuki down on the ground. She had her hand on her neck and continued to weep and shake even in Sasuke's arms.
'As long as she bears that mark, she belongs to me'
Sasuke replayed the voice over in his head. ' I will not give her up that easily. She doesn't belong to anyone but me'
He thought angrily as he held Mizuki close to him and fled from the forest.

Mizuki awoke in a cold sweat. The same cold aqua eyes continued to stare at her in her dreams and remembering what happened that day when she saw the eyes her self still sent shivers down her spine. She walked to the open window of her room and stared out to the clear moonlit sky. She winced as the scar on her neck throbbed slightly.
"Who are you?" she asked no one in particular. As she continue to ponder about who's those eyes belonged to tiny grains of sand began to materialize under her hand. Fearing that the boy with the lonely aqua eyes was back she immediately hid in the farthest corner of her room and watched. The ball grew larger and larger until it finally exploded leaving a black and red box in its place. Peering from the pillow she hid behind she got up and placed the nicely wrapped gift in her lap and opened it.
Her eyes widened. Inside the box lay a small crystal gourd. A small cork that held the sand inside popped off and the grains spilled out and wrapped around her hand. She feared that it would do what it did earlier and closed her eyes and awaited the pain. It wasn't long before the sand fell back into its container and she opened her blue eyes only to see a beautiful flower in her hand. Stunned by the beauty Mizuki sat speechless for a while until a piece of paper caught her eye. She picked up the cream colored paper and read it,
"It's called the, Forget-me-not. It's said to be the flower you get for that one special person who you want to be with forever. Legend has it, if you give this flower to the one you hold close then your destinies will be forever intertwined.
I'm sorry that I hurt you, but it would devastate me if I were to lose you. So please don't acknowledge my mark as a curse but as a reminder of what we used to be. So that maybe someday we really can be together.
Mizuki stared blankly at the flower that rest in her hand and the note that resided in the other. A million thoughts ricocheted through her mind, and her tired eyes began to close. A blur of red and white brushed past her and aqua eyes smiled at her best effort to stay awake.
"What we used to be?" she mumbled. A cold hand touched her forehead, brushing the stray hairs that covered her face and she felt the cool glass be placed on her neck.
"Yes of what we used to be" the Aqua eyes said sadly. She felt a soft kiss her lips and rough hand grasp hers tightly as she drifted off to sleep.
