Best friend; the one friend who is closest to you
Best friends are always there for you.When you fuck up,when you break up with your boyfriend/girlfriend,when your grounded they'll help you sneak out to spend time with them.That's what best friends are for.
Meghan had two best friends; Tom and Danny.She was close with the two, but she was closer to Tom than Danny.She could talk to Tom about everything, and not have him judge her or make her feel bad about any mistakes she may have done.
He -being Tom- was the one that would climb to her window at midnight on a Saturday to help her break out.He would always bring her back to his place.They were both grateful that Tom's mom was nice enough to keep them sneaking out a secret.
"Hellooooo, anyone in there?" Tom asked,waving a pale hand in front of Meghan's face.
"Huh?" she said,snapping from her thoughts.
"I just wanted to know what you wanted to do today.Since Danny's out with his girlfriend, and it's raining outside," Tom repeated,seating himself by the brunette.
"Oh,well how about we watch a movie?" she suggested.
He nodded before getting off the leather couch to select a movie.He scanned through the choices before his eyes landed on the perfect movie; Stay Alive. It was scary,perfect for a rainy day.It was also a good way for Tom to comfort Meghan when she got scared.
He picked up the rectangular box, and placed into the DVD player before seating beside his friend.
"What ya pick?" Meghan asked.
"It's a surprise," Tom answered.
She watched as the opening credits of the movie played; showing the beginning of a cliched horror movie.
"Tom," she whined,"You know I hate horror movies."
"If you get scared,you have me to protect you," he stated,giving her a small smile.
She rolled her eyes,"Some help you are."
An hour into the movie; Meghan had her arms wrapped around Tom's left and her face buried into the sleeve of his shirt as a gruesome scene showed on the television screen.
Tom insisted on shutting off all the lights to create a eery effect.
"You can look up now," he stated softly.
Meghan lifted her head to see Frankie Muniz on the screen talking about some plan or something, she wasn't paying attention.
A loud bang came from outside the house to which Meghan screamed(more like shrieked) at the sound.She knew watching a scary movie on a rainy day with all your lights turned out was a bad idea.
Tom chuckled before removing her arms that wrapped itself even tighter around his arm.
Meghan quickly followed Tom to the door seeing as she didn't want to be alone in darkness with somebody(even though it was fake) dying.
She watched as he opened the door to see a soaking wet Danny.
"DANNY! WHAT THE HELL? YOU SCARED THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS OUT OF ME!"
"Sorry,I accidentally tripped over your mum's pots," he explained,shaking his hair like a dog.
"Well,get out of the rain before you catch a cold." Tom pulled the other brunette into the house before shutting the door behind him.
Tom ventured into the house to find some towels for the Bolton lad while Meghan stayed behind with Danny; not wanting to be alone.
"Getting cozy with Tom are we?" Danny teased.
Danny knew Meghan had a crush on Tom, and he even knew that Tom had a crush on Meghan.How ironic?
"Shut up Danny," she said,playing pushing him.
He stuck his tongue out at her while she did the same thing.
"Here are some clean towels for ya." Tom threw the blue clean towels at his mate.
Danny left tow hours ago.Tom and Meghan were still on the couch watching a different movie(that Meghan chose).Her head was in his lap with him stroking her hair.
If you didn't know them you would have though they were couple enjoying a quiet night in.
Much to their dismay; they weren't.
"Meghan?"
"Mhm?"
Before any one of them could register it; Tom's lips were on her own.
It was quite uncomfortable for Tom who was bending over to kiss her, but he didn't mind.
Her brown eyes shone into his own chocolate eyes after they pulled away.
"You never asked me the question," she stated.
"Oh,will you be my girlfriend?"
He didn't get an answer; just Meghan's lips.
"Does that answer your question?"
"Very much."
