The boy's soft, black hair fell into his face...his dim black eyes were focused on the tree in front of him...his pale hands curled around the kunai in his hand. He was so concentrated on hitting the target, on getting it perfect, that I was merely like dust in the wind. I could see the crease on his forehead, the sweat dripping from his chin...it was amazing.
I quickly jotted down a few notes in my small notebook before tapping my lips with my pencil, studying the boy that trained in front of me. My own ruby eyes scanned over the boys outfit, then to his hair again.
Oh how I craved his hair...I wanted to feel it, run my fingers through it...grip onto it and feel the texture. I mean, I've never seen such hair! It's shape is so much like a bird's, its shine like the sun glittering on a lake...and it looks so soft!
I contained a squeal as I danced in my seat...well, branch?
Crack.
My red orbs widened as I looked down at the branch beneath me, only to see a large break behind me. I quickly scrambled up and reached for the branch above me, but it was too high.
Before I could decide whether or not to jump...the branch broke. I screeched as loud as my voice box allowed as I pummeled to the ground at a high speed. My poor ninja skills never kicked in...but, I never hit the ground.
Though I did land on something soft.
"Oh...shit."
I closed my eyes tightly and tightened my fists into small balls, refusing to see who had caught me. Well, I knew who it was, but I wouldn't admit it.
Oh god, he's gonna kill me! What do I do...what do I do? No, no, no...this isn't right! We weren't supposed to meet like this! I had it all planned out....
"Who are you?" A dull, malevolent voice questioned.
I whimpered in the boy's arms before slowly opening my eyes and staring up into his deep, black eyes. My lungs seemed to stop functioning, and I could feel my face turning blue from the lack of oxygen. Then, with a deep breath, I smiled and giggled awkwardly.
That's when it hit me. His hair was right there...so close.
Without a second thought, I reached up and ran my fingers through his hair, squealing at the sensation of it. It was like every nerve-ending in my hand and fingers went off as each strand of hair raked over my skin.
I shuddered at the feeling. It was better than I had imagined, it was better than when Kiba had showed me how to describe making out...it was even better than eating umeboshi filled onigiri!
The boy gave me a weird look, obviously considering me crazy, before dropping me. A sharp pain ran through-out my ass and I glared up at the fair-haired boy. My sassy side began to take over and I stood, dusting my blue skirt off and I crossed my arms, giving the boy a nasty look.
"Oh...and like you would do something with it. Would you trash my name? Start rumors with your clan name? Hmm?" I quirked a brow and smirked haughtily at the boy. "Or...! You want to know who your superior is! Is that it, lover boy? Finally realize that someone is smarter than you?"
Oh shit I didn't just say that.
"No, idiot."
FUCK...where's my notebook?
I quickly ignored the brooding emo in front of me and panicked, running over to where the branch fell and began searching through the rubble of sticks in search of my notebook.
"Hair the color of a raven's feather...sweat dripping like rain on a windowsill...eyes of unused coal.... Stalker."
A small booklet hit me over the head, and my eyes stretched to the size of saucers as I jolted around and stared at my notebook as it fluttered to the ground. My pencil finally fell from my behind my ear and my jaw seemed to pop out of its socket.
This boy...he thought...I was....
"Oh hell no, pretty boy! Why the hell would I stalk you? You're a no-good-fucked-up-cockatoo-haired bastard!"
I huffed loudly, picked up my notebook and pencil, turned, and stormed off with hate flaring in my eyes.
"Ume-nee-chan! Ume-nee-chan!" My little sister squealed, tackling me and clinging to my leg. "Ume-nee-chan, I missed you!"
"Yes, Toshi-imouto...I missed you too."
The small five year old grinned, letting her bright blue eyes shimmer in the sunlight patches that washed over her face as she clinged to my leg as I walked towards our small cabin. Her long, brown locks barely stroked the ground, and the yellow ribbons were holding the ends of her hair tightly in bows.
"Di'joo see Sasuke-san training? Any good descriptions? Can I use anything?" She questioned quickly.
"Yes, yes, Toshi-chan. I have a few things...but he caught me this time." I muttered.
"No! Are you serious? That's not what was supposed to happen!"
"I know, Toshi-chan...and it felt so weird. I told him off because he asked for my name. I'm such an idiot."
"You are not, Ume-chan! You are one of the smartest fifteen-year olds I've ever known!"
"Don't even go there, child. My grades are one of the lowest in Umino-sensei's class, oh...I just know I'm going to fail!"
"Now you're talking about failing again, Nee-chan! You mustn't do that!"
I laughed and walked up the stairs to our cabin, opening the door and making my way to the kitchen. Umeboshi onigiri had been nagging my mind since I compared Sasuke's hair to it...wait.
"WHERE'S MY RICE?!" I screamed, hitting my head on the cabinet roughly.
"...You ate it all last night, Nee-chan."
"You're kidding me...you're freakin' kidding me."
"Nope! I watched you hog it all down like a big scary, MONSTER!" Toshiko laughed, jumping off my leg and making her eyes wide, creating "gobbling" noises and "gulping" noises.
I couldn't help but laugh at the little girl as she "imitated" me. She began laughing too, and so hard, might I add, that she fell to the ground. Her small form rolled and her dress was sprawled around her feet. I shook my head at my little sister before yawning and looking at the stove clock. It was only four o'clock...maybe I could make it to town quick enough before mom and dad got back from their mission.
"Did you want to go to the store, Toshi-chan?" I inquired, eyes glittering.
"Kiba! Mah buddy! Mah love! Mah pimp!" I squealed, tackling my dog-loving friend.
"Tomo! Mah sistah! Mah love! Mah high-moraled slut!" Kiba laughed, holding my weight up.
"Nee-chan." Toshiko grumbled while staring up at me as I clinged to my boyfriend. "Stop embarrassing me."
A sweat drop appeared on Kiba's head as he looked over at my five-year old sister and, laughing innocently, he placed me down on the ground. He then gave me the ugliest look I've ever seen...well, in front of Toshiko. I shrugged and turned, swooping my sister up in tight hug. Kiba raised a brow at me, but rolled his eyes and wrapped an arm around my waist, walking with me to the grocery.
"Since I know you're going to the grocery, Love, what are you out of? Plums or rice?" Kiba questioned.
"...You're a mind reader, Kiba-kun."
"Must be rice."
"I stand with my statement."
"Ume-nee-chan, you were out of plums last week. It's only reasonable to know you're out of rice this week." Toshiko reasoned.
"Smart kid." Kiba laughed, ruffling her hair.
"Don't touch my hair, brat!" She backfired.
"Feisty, too."
I laughed and placed Toshiko back on the ground, only for her to cling to my leg. She grinned up at me the moment I looked down to glare at her. Kiba laughed.
"You know how awkward this is? I have a hormonal, sixteen-year old boy clinging to my waist and an immature, age-acting-five-year old clinging to my leg. Have you ever tried this?"
"Oh, yes...every day, Tomo."
"Don't be sarcastic with me, boy."
"And what will you do?"
I quirked a brow, then turned my head and whispered into his ear, "I know where you live...I know where you sleep...."
"What will happen with this information, anyways?" He retaliated, pulling me a little closer.
"I know where I drawer full of knives are...."
I laughed as he scooted, at least, five feet away. Even Toshiko was laughing along...but then she screamed. I felt her body get pulled from my leg, and her voice fading slightly.
"TOSHI!" I screeched, turning and ready to fight off the bastard that touched my sister.
"Let go of me, you big, fat meanie! Let go!" She screamed, fighting to get free.
"Tomo-chan...is that Sasuke-san?"
"Oh god damn it, that fucking piece of shit." I growled, backing up and staring at the top of the building.
"You won't be able to get him, Tomo-chan. You're no good at ninjutsu or taijutsu. Illusions are no good."
"Don't you think I know that!"
Then, like nothing happened, Toshiko was right next to me with tears streaming down her face. I quickly scooped her up and hugged her tight, then glared at my boyfriend.
"Kiba, if all you're going to do is insult me every time something happens, we're over. You're hormonal and all you want to do is get in my pants and it's fucking obvious. Get. A. Life."
"What?"
"I said we're over, damn it!
"You know what, fine! If you want it to be over, then I'm gone. There goes a fucking three year relationship, Tomoko! Forget you."
With that, Kiba stormed off. Akamaru, who was sitting on his head, whimpered loudly, seeming to wave to me as his owner stomped off. I sighed and held Toshiko close, forgetting about my trip to the grocery and began walking home.
"What did Sasuke-baka do, Toshi-chan?" I questioned.
"He...he told met th-that you must go o-o-over his house...tonight. H-He was very c-clear that he...that he...." She took a deep breath and clinged to my neck. "That he wanted to hurt you."
Toshiko burst into tears again and the salty liquid spread onto my shirt and hit my skin. It was clear that whatever he actually told her was completely different than was she said. And what would I say to Mom and Dad?
"Izumi Yasu Tomoko!" Came the two voices.
"Oh shit."
"What are you doing out in the village? What happened to Toshiko?" My mother questioned.
"Mom, Dad! I was going out for rice...we're out this week. And, as for Toshi...well...." I tried to explain, but was interrupted by my little sister who was still sniffling at the events.
"I fell."
"What?" Dad questioned, barely hearing his second daughter.
"She said she fell. Can we go home?"
My parents gave me a cross look, but gripped onto my arm tightly and performed a few hand seals, and we disappeared. When we reappeared in the living room, I quickly freed myself from the grasp of whoever held me and made a break for my room.
"I deliberately said no going to town on Saturday's, Tomoko!"
"I know! Just leave me alone!"
"You put your sister in danger, Tomoko, and you expect us to just leave it be?"
I slammed my door shut, placing hand-written seals on my door and muttering a few words. The seals lit up a light lavender, then faded to a normal paper.
My legs took me to my bed and I took a deep breath before a tear fell. And, soon enough, many tears were streaming down my face as the tip of my nose turned a light red. I tried to take a silent breath in, but it only resulted in a sobbing spell.
I can't believe I broke up with Kiba. He'll never talk to me again...what've I done?
"Ume-nee-chan...." Toshiko murmured, knocking on my door. "Ten o'clock."
"Yes, Toshi-imouto...thanks."
The five-year old uttered a weak 'welcome' before walking off down the hall. I sighed, wiping at my eyes and looked over at the clock.
Eight? Go figure...I didn't even know I was gone that long.
Slowly, I willed myself off my bed and walked over to my closet. I pulled my white t-shirt over my head and stripped a black spaghetti strap from a hanger, slipping it over my shoulders. I then removed my blue skirt and replaced it with a red one. Black, knee-high socks slipped over my feet, and I stepped into some "mock-dress shoes" which were converse. My collar jingled lightly as I reached down to grab my white short-sleeved jacket, slipping it onto my shoulders and zipping it up and looking in the mirror.
I look like a whore...where's my hat?
I frowned, picking up my glasses from my table and making a face of amusement as I found my hat sitting neatly on my bedpost. My lips stretched up lightly as I looked in my body-length mirror again...I didn't look as trashy.
"Do you know where Uchiha Sasuke lives?"
"Fan girl!"
"Excuse me...do you know where the Uchiha brat resides?"
"Hmph."
"Where does the fucking Uchiha live?!"
"Get lost!"
"...Fucking emo bastards." I grumbled after my twentieth attempt to figure out where the idiot lives.
"This way...." A blonde boy growled, taking my hand and leading me to a deserted part of the village. "That house."
He released my hand and pointed to a house with lights in it, then disappearing in a puff of smoke. I sighed, frowned, and made my way towards the house.
"Stupid bastard."
As I made it to the porch, the door opened, making me roll my eyes and walk right in and sit on a random couch I noticed in the room. It was almost dark, the room being lit by a light on the ceiling and a small lamp next to the couch I decided to sit on.
Perfect scene for some kind of rape. Lovely. What a bastard.
The door slammed shut and the brunette walked towards me slowly. His stride was well calculated...like a romantically involved man in a novel based on two lovers that could not be together. He let his ebony eyes wonder up my legs and up my body to my ruby ones, and that, frankly, pissed me off.
"You did not scare the living hell out of my sister just to find a way to get in my pants."
"Hn."
I glared at the Uchiha boy heavily, ready to stand and leave when he actually spoke.
"Why were you watching me today? Why have you even been watching me? Is stalking a game you like to play?"
"Me? Play games?" I scoffed at the thought. "The only one playing games here, Uchiha-san, is you."
The sixteen-year old glared at me, obviously not liking that I had the nerve to raise my voice and have a tone with the heir himself. His bangs fell into his eyes and my heart began to melt.
I love his hair.
"You fawn over me, girl...and yet you are not in that fan club that squeals. Why?"
"Because I do not fawn over you. You are a mere character to me, one that needs to straighten up if he wishes to revive his clan." I hissed.
He stared at me for a second, and then nodded to himself, muttering, "I see you've done your research."
I bit back a growl and snarled hatefully, "I only research things that are worth a story. The only thing of interest from you is your past and your hair. Get a life and a normal sized ego."
"My hair?"
"Yes your goddamn hair! And I'm not a stalker! Stop thinking it!"
I stood up and pressed my chest against his in a challenge. He obviously complied as he stepped forward, glaring down at me. My eyes seemed to flare in anger at his stupidity, and his ego.
"Then why are you still here?"
"Because you're a bastard."
"As I've heard."
"Oh...but I really mean it. I know all about you, and I've read more about your family than any other person in this village. I probably know more about your family than you."
He stared at me for a second, seeming to think, before he smirked.
"You're not smart enough to know anything more than Yamanaka Ino."
"Take that back, bitch."
"No."
"I said take it back!"
I threw my hands up to push him away, but he grabbed my wrists before they could begin their descent to his chest and pulled my body close to his. My look darkened by a thousand and I fought to get free.
"You know...I love a feisty girl."
As soon as he finished his sentence he crashed his lips onto mine. Surprised, my eyes widened, and I grabbed the back of his head and tried to pull him off of me. When that didn't work, I closed my eyes and opened my mouth. I felt his tongue begin to wonder into my mouth. And, as his tongue ran over the roof of my mouth, I bit...hard.
The boy screamed and I let go and pushed him away, giving him a good smack in the process.
"You know what, Uchiha? To put up with your arrogant ass, I'd rather have some other person to study." I murmured lightly, walking to the door and opening it. "And you know what? I thought you'd at least have a bit of decency...I just broke up with my boyfriend, jackass."
With that, I slammed the door and started walking home. A single tear trickled down my cheek as I sniffed lightly, shaking my head at the events that just occurred.
And to think...we could have had a story-book romance.
