"Is it ready?" I asked in a hushed voice like it was supposed to be a secret.
She nodded her head, "It is."
I squealed in joy. "Kay then. I'll get ready right NOW!' I said excitedly as I rudely slammed the door in Kurenai's face and ran to my closet.
I quickly threw on my costume.
++
I walked happily down the street as I saw little ghouls, goblins, ghosts, or nekos.
I felt a little bit over dressed.
I had put on powder on my face to make my face look paler than what it usually is, dark eye shadow with thick black eyeliner, black lipstick, and I had dyed little parts of my hair red. I wore a black cloak that resembled the grim reapers, with black combat boots, and a huge plastic scythe.
I quickly shook my head, No one can be over dressed on Halloween! I thought smiling which I think scared some little kid since I heard crying from my right.
I like my costume, really.
I loved my costume in fact. I dressed up as a female grim reaper. Now isnt that pretty cool? It's not every day in Konoha you see a girl dressed morbidly. Almost all the girls that dress up on Halloween usually wear girly costumes.
I walked to the training grounds were I was supposed to meet up with Kakashi and his cell.
There stood the three gennin but no Kakashi.
I sighed as I walked up to the three.
"Were the hell is Kakashi?" I mumbled rubbing the back of my head.
Sakura and Naruto stayed quiet for a minute before realizing who I was.
Naruto's eyes widened to the size of dishes, "Oh My God! Why the hell do you look like that?!" He asked as he shivered behind Sakura.
I rolled my eyes, "Better than what your wearing."
Naruto was dressed up as a fox. He wore something like a reddish-orange tux with fox ears and tail.
Sakura was dressed up as a witch. She wore her head band in the usual way. She had on a short(and I mean short) black dress (which I guess was to try and turn on Sasuke) with some black high heels. She carried a broom.
Dude. Not even I would wear clothes like that. It was just so...slutty. When in the world had the kids grew up so wrong?
And the party pooper Sasuke...wore nothing. He wore his usual clothes which meant he probably didnt have any plans which meant Sakura and Naruto had to drag him here.
I frowned at the group, "A very...strange group you are." I mumbled.
Naruto frowned also, "Hey! Watch it, lady! The only one strange in this group is Sasuke! He didnt even dress up!!" He shouted pointing at Sasuke.
Soon I had a group of annoying yelling kids.
I had anime tears in my eyes as I cursed Kakashi for not being hear earlier. That's when I thought of something evilly funny.
"Okay kids! Follow me!" I said smiling.
Naruto looked confused, "Why?"
"Just follow me!" I said rolling my eyes.
The three gennin (Naruto dragging Sasuke) followed me back to my apartment. I opened the door and told the three to sit before I went back to my room and got all the items I needed before going back to the room.
I smiled evilly, "Ok Sasuke. Your getting into the spirit weather you like it or not."
He just sat there glaring at me while I played with his hair and adjusted his head band and made him through different close on.
I had spray painted his hair gray and made it stick up in a odd angle way with his head band going down on his left eye as I put a mask over his face that covered the bottom half of his face.
I smiled in my accomplishment as I stared at Sasuke. Naruto started cracking up laughing while Sakura was letting out small un-controllable giggles.
"A mini Kakashi!" I said laughing.
I frowned knowing something was missing.
...
...
...
Icha-Icha Paradise!
"Of course! Your missing the book!" I said remembering, "Okay kids once again follow me!"
I said walking out my door with the three behind me.
I had to hurry. It was only three hours until night fall. Three hours until IT opened.
Walking quickly down the hall to were Kakashi lived I bent down to the locked door knob and picked the lock. I quickly went in with the three gennin still behind me.
Sakura spoke up, "Ai, were are we?"
I smiled evilly not turning around though, "Kakashi's house."
I heard the three stop and scatter around the house along with naruto's outburst and Sakura trying to shut him up. I kept walking heading to the bed room.
I walked in spotting what I was looking for.
Kakashi's library selection. His Icha-Icha paradise selection. I crept silently to the small book shelf and right when I was going to grab one I heard the voice behind me.
"What are you doing in my home?"
I turned around only to start laughing.
There stood Kakashi dressed up as a scarecrow.
((think of how the scarecrow in the wizard of oz looks like. That's how Kakashi looks like only he still had his head band over his eye and a his mask.))
I wiped the tears away from my eyes as started to gain my saneness back.
"I was going to get a book for Sasuke's costume." I said smiling.
He stared at me for a moment like I was the craziest person in the world, "What?"
"I made him into a mini Kakashi."
"Oh."
"Yup!"
"And what are yousupposed to be?" Kakashi asked looking me over strangely.
"A female grim reaper of course!"
"Uh-huh. Okay...I'm leaving now." He said plainly starting to walk out the door.
I completely forgot the book and started after Kakashi.
I walked into the living room expecting to see the gennin but the only thing there was a note that said,
Ai, Naruto couldnt wait any longer so we had to leave. Sorry!
-Sakura
I sighed. As I looked over at the...deformed Kakashi, "Well lets go bob." I said throwing a arm around his neck and dragging him out the door.
"Bob?"
"Bob...you dont remember bob?"
"No." He said simply.
"It was the scarecrow we made when we were 5. You know the one that we name and then I ended up killing it."
Kakashi made a 'Oh'ing sound like he understood.
While we were walking down the street we got a few glances that said we looked crazy. Im sure it did. The grim reaper with her cloaked arm around a scarecrow's neck practically dragging him down the street.
~~
I stared happily up at the old building.
It was old, creepy, scary, and freaking awesome!
A few people had found this old mansion and for Halloween made it into a haunted house with the permission of the owner.
THIS is what I wanted to come to.
I squealed happily as I started walking up to the door with Kakashi following behind me reading his book.
I walked into the house smiling.
It was everything I expected it to be.
It was covered in old cobwebs and some slime looking stuff was all over the walls.
"Come on, Kakashi!" I said grabbing his hand as I walked through the house.
Of course, this is a haunted house after all...
I hadnt seen anything for a while and it was starting to give me the creeps. We were currently walking down a old hall way with pictures on both sides of the wall.
I un-consciously walked closer to Kakashi as the lights around us were dimming greatly.
Bangs could be heard in the walls. I heard foot steps behind us but when I turned my head to see if anyone was there no one was. For some strange reason the cobwebs and slime on the walls seemed all to scary. Something like in a horror movie.
"It's just a haunted house, Ai." Kakashi said reassuring me. He had a lazy look on his face as he looked around the hall as I clung to his arm.
I nodded my head. I repeated those words in my head and they didnt help a goddamn bit!
There were no doors on either side of the walls so I was sort of surprised to see a door while we wear walking. There was screeching noises coming from the other side of the door.
"Well go ahead and open it." Kakashi said chuckling.
I shook my head fiercely, "You open it!"
He shrugged as he opened the door with his free hand.
On the floor was a dead woman(well that's what she looked like) and her hands were near door scratching the floor near it. She slowly looked up at me and Kakashi and said in a hoarse voice, "Help me."
I let out a ear piercing scream. I held onto Kakashi's arm so tight I dont think any blood was circulating through his arm anymore. I hid behind Kakashi as I stared at the woman. My screaming only increased as I saw a man in the room in a hooded cloak holding a bloody kunai. He gave out a maniacal laughter as he suddenly started running toward us. I quickly grabbed Kakashi and ran further down the hall. Screaming like a idiot while I was at it.
I sniffled as a few tears from fear fell from my eyes, "This isnt a haunted house! This is Hell Hole!" Kakashi chuckled as he patted me on the back.
"There, there now. It's only for show. Nothing hear can really hurt you." He said laughing. I nodded my head sniffling.
"Okay...but..." I didnt finish.
"Yes?" Kakashi asked patiently.
"...Can I ride on your back?" I asked sheepishly.
Hey! I was scared out of my mind it would be nice to have some one to hang onto before I start trying to attack workers here with my pathetic ninja skills. Besides my knees are still shaking from that last attempt to give me a heart attack I dont know I'll have the power to run for the next one.
His eye curved as he smiled, "Sure." He said as he bent down as I got onto his back. And then we continue are journey on my heart attack path.
We walked a little farther and now the screaming and creaks were louder than before. I tightened my arms around Kakashi's neck as I stared ahead of us with wide eyes.
"Oh my god!" I shouted. I screamed banshee like and I'm sure Kakashi wont be able to hear for the next couple of days.
There in the middle of hall was a man with black hair that was spiked in every direction. He had clown make up on but his face resembled something from horror movie with his eyes the color of blood, the white powder on his face, the red eye shadow around his eyes gave him a crazed look, the make up around his lips was designed into a huge smile which made him look even more crazed. He wore a un-tied straight jacket with matching pants. Instead of finger's he had knives of sorts. He started toward us laughing crazed with his eyes wide. I screamed but Kakashi stayed calm.
The man ran right past us and I nearly strangled Kakashi from holding on him so tight.
I was shivering so hard even Kakashi was shivering.
"Please! Please, lets leave now!" I said scared completely.
Kakashi shook his head, "Were not even close to the end yet. Dont worry."
I'll make him choke on those words. Just wait. I'll come after him with a real scythe one day.
Kakashi continued walking down the hall that eventually led to a huge ball room. The room was decorated with cobwebs, spiders, dust, and to add to the affect the lights were dim which gave the pictures around the room the affect that made that they were watching us as we walked.
Old music was beginning to play when we were in the middle of the ball room.
Around us people started to appear in old Victorian clothing dancing to the music and drinking in merriment.
I stared 'aw' ed at how much they were putting into the haunted house. I certainly never saw anyone do this with a genjutsu.
The people around us continued to dance laughing with joy but slowly you could see there skin starting to rot while there clothes did the same. You could see the people slowly turn into skeletons.
I stared wide eyed as the skeleton people started running toward us screaming like we could help them but they only came two feet away from us until they disappeared into the ground.
I was so scared I couldnt even scream this time. I buried my face in Kakashi's neck as he kept walking. His body shook with laughter.
"We're almost all the way through."
I nodded my head not saying anything. I kept my eyes peered in front of me. The air around us suddenly got increasingly colder and the screaming and creaking could no longer be heard as the moans of pain filled the air.
I tried to concentrate on something else but ended up on concentrate on my boot that was un-tied. I eventually asked Kakashi to let me down so I could tie it but when I looked back up to tell him we could keep going he wasnt there.
I stood up shakily looking around me scared, "Kakashi?" I said tears of fear running down my cheeks.
"Kakashi come out! This isnt funny!" I said over again as I slowly walked down the hall way.
I kept walking until a reached a door slightly opened a bit.
I gulped as I hesitantly put my hand on the door knob, He probably went in here to see what was ahead. I thought to myself as I opened the door completely.
All there was a dark room. I stupidly walked in, "Kakashi?" I asked quietly. I could feel I was walking on somethingwet. I squinted my eye's until they adjusted to the dark. I looked down to see blood on the floor. I froze. I gulped as I squinted my eyes to see anything farther away from me. A figure was on the floor.
A woman's figure. Her body was like a rag doll. Her curly red hair was in tangles, her skin was covered in stitches, her left eye was dangling out of it's socket while the right was wide, her mouth was stuck in a position like she was screaming, the clothes she was wearing were tattered and old. Blood was still coming out of a wound.
I fell to my knees wide eyed and scared to my mind. I could hear foot prints ahead of me, deeper in the dark room. The agonizing tap of how the feet hit the blood on the floor was fritening. A man dressed like a doctor with a few blood spatters on his face looked at me with a maniacal look, "Who's next?" he said slurring while he looked at me leeringly.
I stood up as I slowly backed out of the room with him taking a step forward each time I took one back.
I quickly ran out of the room. I couldnt hear anyone following me anymore but I didnt dare stop running. I saw the door to the outside. I panted trying to catch my breath as I slowed to a walk. Right when I was at the door the a figure on the side of me showed to reveal a butler looking person. He was a old man with greenish skin, there were no eyes in the eye sockets but yet he looked at me like he could see perfectly. He held the door knob open with a bony hand while the other was crossed in front of him.
He said in a shaky and hoarse voice, "Please, Do drop by again."
I stared at him wide eyed before I ran out of the door completely screaming to run into someone.
That didnt stop me from screaming.
"Ai, what's wrong?" A startled voice said.
I stopped my screaming as I looked up to see Kakashi.
I said in sobs, "Dead..man...Butler" I pointed to the door that was a good distance behind me.
Kakashi shook his head again, "It was probably fake. Were have you been? I've been looking for you every were."
I shook my head. There was no way that was fake.
Kurenai walked up to us smiling, "So did you like it?"
I shook my head glaring at her. She was after all the one who designed it.
Her face fell, "Really? Why?"
Kakashi chucked as he patted me on the shoulder, "She said that there were real ghost."
Kurenai laughed.
I pouted. "Look!" I said pulling them back to the door and slightly inside were the dead butler had been.
I paused as I stuck my hand in the darkness and even flashed a flash light in there. But the butler was no were in there. "He..was right...here."
Kakashi chucked, "You just imagined it, Ai."
Kurenai joined him in the laugh.
I nodded my head and quickly changed the subject so this wouldnt be etched into my mind, "Oh! Kurenai the clothes the ghost wore in the ball room looked really valuable. How did you get the money to get em? Oh and the doctor with the dead body was pretty scarey too." I said laughing nervously as we walked outside house.
Kurenai looked at me in confusion, "What are you talking about? We never had people do that."
I slapped her on the arm playfully, "Come on, Kurenai! Stop pulling my leg. You know you really did it."
She looked at me still confused, "We never bought any dresses. And I dont remember having a doctor as part of the horror fest. The only thing the crew was in charge was making scary noises and slamming doors."
I stopped dead in my tracks and so did Kakashi. I looked at her wide eyed only to see the complete truth on her face.
I slowly turned my head to the House as laughs of merriment and dancing could still be heard.
