"May I join you Miss Daniels?" She nodded, instantly picking up Patrick's boy-ish voice.
Positioning himself next to her on the balcony, they peered over the Los Angeles landscape, watching street lights twinkling brightly in the black morning sky.
"Where is everyone?" Zach asked after minutes of silently scoping the horizon. "It's been oddly quiet the last few hours."
"They've left to a club some time ago, while you were showering."
"Lovely." Bitterness was articulated in her words. She hated Tavi and the others for leaving the two alone. "And Raina?" Her question was drenched with undisguised distain, her eyes gazed up awaiting a reaction.
"With them," A sigh escaped him. "We aren't on the best terms at the moment. I doubt that we are going to last much longer." His face collapsed into his hand smothering a frustrated grunt.
Zach hand wandered to his back, stroking lightly. "Pat, I want to say I'm sorry ,but..." His eyes lingered up to meet her hazel orbs. "But it wouldn't be sincere. Come on Patrick; look at her! Shes the type of person that we mutually hate. What exactly where you expecting differently from her?"
"Honestly," His hand ruffled his hair. "I wasn't expecting anything. I was just needing a distraction."
"A distraction? From what?"
"Do I really need to say it Zach? Is that what you need for this shit to work? Fine than. It's you."
"... Really?"
"Don't acted surprised Zach; you knew."
"I had my suspicions," Her body settled back into the chestnut love seat. "but I wasn't entirely sure."
"Well, that's what it is, Zacharie , but it seems stupid now. Don't you think so?" He asked searching in her eyes.
"Patrick," She could feel her pulse increasing. "what exactly are you saying?"
"I'm saying that I've tried searching for something I've found a long time ago." Zach stared into his blue eyes watching as he sat down next to her, feeling the soft leather gently sink beneath them. She fixated on him, making sure she heard his every word. "Zach, I know last time, I rushed into things. I recall promising to stay in love with you forever. Even after all these years, despite all the struggles and spiteful, hurtful words, my promise has never been false."
I love the girl, But God only knows it
Zach was speechless; heart fluttering intensely and her speeding pulse raced faster. She forced her eyes shut and inhaled deeply.
"Zach," Patrick said, breaking her concentration. "I love you." Her eyes flicked open, and focused on Patrick as if he was a stranger.
"Patrick" Raina whispered. Patrick leapt out of the seat, facing the bleached blonde. "What did you just tell her?" Raina said, hands fluttering up to her mouth. Tears were rimming her big, brown eyes.
