"I... am petrified of bugs. I don't know why... But I just am. I think it's because I'm a girl." Jita admitted over lunch with Kiba and Hinata.
She didn't know that Shino was dirrectly behind her, but he was, and he was very offended, despite the simple fact that most people would avoid him fo his traits.
It really shouldn't have bothered him at all...
"Hey! Shino!" Kiba shouted nervously.
Jita completely fell, head in hand onto the table.
"Sh-shino? Why d-don't you c-c-come and sit down?" Hinata said mousily.
Finding that the only remaining seat was next to Jita, Shino began to decline when she got up.
"You porbably wouldn't like to sit with me after what you probably ust heard, so I'll let you eat with your team mates..."
As she went to walk away, Shino gripped her arm and shook his head.
"It would be rude of me to interupt your lunch..."
"Rude of you? Haha. That's a laugh."
Kiba finally stood and pushed them both into the booth.
Shino on the inside.
"Instead of having you both argue and or leave, you both will eat with Hinata and myself." Kiba said proudly.
Jita sighed and shook her head, "I'm sorry guys..."
"You d-d-don't have t-to appologize, Jita." Hinata said with a small smile.
Jita nodded and righted her posture.
They all ate and had such a great time that they stayed even longer, talking and catching up.
It lasted till dinner and then after.
All had jut returned from previous tasks and missions just this morning and decided to get together.
hinata was now fast asleep on Kiba's shoulder as Jita and Kiba drank sake.
"You're... You're my drinking buddy, Jinta... Ji... Jisha!" Kiba slurred.
Kita laughed loudly with cup in hand, "That's not even my name, you stupid dog!"
She wasn't fazed at all by the alcohol, well, it made her a little giggly was all.
Shino shook his head and sipped his tea, "Kiba, you're smashed."
"N-no! I am..."
"LIGHT WEIGHT!" Jita shouted with glee, downing her cup and slamming it.
"Am... I... Not!!" Kiba finally shouted back.
"Hahaha... You're so stupid... Let's pay the humungous bill and drop you and Hinata off." Jita said, fishing into her pocket.
So, they paid and just as they went to pick up Hinata, who had had her first taste of Sake after her dinner couldn't take it, Neji came in and smirked at Jita.
"Causing another disturbance, Jita?" He asked, picking up Hinata, no problem.
"Oh-haha, Jerky." Jita said, placing her hands on her hips.
Without any cause, Jita started laughing.
"You're buzzed... I see... Shino? Take her home. I'll take these two home." And without another word, he walked out, dragging Kiba, some how, out the door.
"He's such a friggin' jerk!" Jita growled through her ebbing laughter.
"If you don't want me to..." Shino began.
"No, no. I don't mind. You're a really nice guy... A little quiet, but cool, none-the-less." She smiled, placing her hand on his shoulder.
He nodded, swallowing a nervous lump in his throat.
They walked and eventually, the alcohol began to really affect her as she tripped and nearly fell.
Shino moved to catch her, but she fell any ways and stared up at him.
"Are you alright?" Shino asked.
She burst out laughing and nodded.
Shino felt a tug at the corner of his mouth and reached out to her.
She reached up and let him haul her to her feet.
Pulling her arm over his shoulders, he walked her home.
As they entered, she giggled and pulled him in further.
He shut her front door and let her lead him to the living room where she colapsed onto the couch and pulled him down next to her.
"So! Talk to me!" She said happily.
Shino blinked behind his glasses, filling the room with only Jita's slightly heavy breathing.
Her smile turned into a frown until she reached for his glasses.
Out of a spastic grip for her wrists, Shino ended up on the floor with her on top of him, peering into his unshaded eyes.
"My... Stunning..." She whispered.
Tossing his glasses a bit away from them, she unzipped his coat, just enough to see his face fully.
"Oh, wow... What makes you hide such a handsome face, Shino?"
Handsome? He thought, then became flustered and flatered.
"You're just drunk..." Shino said quietly.
She smiled and shook her head, tickling her face with her hair, "Don't think so... It makes me happy, but not blind or stupid."
Jita grinned at Shino's redening face and pulled the head band free from her friend and tossed it aside as well.
"You are so odd... You have such a face that would make every woman and her mother swoon! But then again... Perhaps this is just what your family hides from?"
"What do you mean?"
"Beauty is blinding." Was all he said.
It made Shino think back to what his father told him about his mother.
Out of slight envy of Jita's freedom, Shino released one of his insects.
Jita paled as the bug crawled towards her.
Her grip on Shino's arms tightened profusely and her eyes became large.
"Why do you fear it?" Shino asked.
"Uhm... I, uh..." She stammered, watching the bug.
Shino's eyes studdied her as she began to shake when the insect crawled onto her hand.
Her chest siezed up and she gasped for air.
"Sh-i-no!" She cried out, tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
"A natural fear of insects... Not a simple disgust." Shino muttered to himself.
As his insect made it to her shoulder, Jita absolutely could not breathe and her eyes rolled into her head as she passed out on top of Shino.
Recalling the insect, Shino couldn't help but feel really guilty, so he set her up on the couch as he went and got water.
He dipped his fingers into the cold water and flicked it onto Jita's face several times while calling her name.
In a minute or so, she awoke and looked around terrified.
"What happened? Where am I?" She asked quickly.
"We're in your living room. You passed out." Shino answered.
Jita calmed slightly and nodded.
Shutting her eyes, tears fell softly at the trauma she was reliving.
Shino frowned, then moved closer to her.
He touched her shoulders, but she jerked back, letting out a sob.
Shino thought a second, then quickly pulled her into a tight hug, "I'm sorry. Jita, I'm sorry." He repeated as she struggled against his tight grip.
"Why would you do that to me!? I hate you! Let me go!" She cried out until calm, which took no more than twenty minutes.
"I'm going to cure you of your phobia, Jita." Shino said.
Jita simply nodded as she nearly fell asleep against Shino.
"Come on... Let's get you to your bed." Shino whispered.
He walked her to her room and then laid her down after taking her shoes off her feet.
As he covered her up and went to leave, she gripped his hand gently, making him look back at her, "Don't leave me. I'm afraid." She blushed.
Shino began to sweat, but nodded any ways.
He went to take a seat in a chair in the corner of her room, but she wouldn't let go.
Her grip was like iron.
"Ji-" He stopped as he saw that she was already asleep.
Finding that just standing there was purly uncomfertable, he sighed and crawled in behind her.
He studdied her as she slept and soon joined her in slumber.
Two years had passed, and Shino found himself on a mission with his newfound beloved.
He never told any one about his feelings, so no one really knew.
But she had also come to harbor a secret love for Shino as well.
She told Hinata, but that was it.
"Jita!" Shino called, releasing his bugs to finish off the last opponant.
Jita looked back at Shino, nodded, then dodged.
She moved to Shino's side as victory became theirs.
She grinned and jumped happily, then turned to Shino, pocketted his glasses, unzipped his jacket, "God, I love you!" then kissed him hard.
Shino stumbled backwards as his hands held her close.
He had ached to have this moment.
To hold her like this.
Jita finally realized what she had done and pulled away, blushing deeply.
Both stared at one another, glancing from eyes to lips, then clashed again.
Clearly, it was a moment for a memory book!
