Tasha's eyes shot open, but she didn't see anything. She rubbed eyes in hope that that would help. It didn't. She felt around her pockets for her wand. Once she found it, she said, "lumos." The tip of wand lit up and she was able to see where she was.
She was in a bed, inside of a dormitory, but it was not one that she recognized. She sat up and got out of the bed, her wand still lit and placed closed to her face. She walked over to the nearest bed and pulled back the drapes. She saw that a man was sleeping. She put the light closer to his face. Before she was able to make out his features, he woke up.
The man, only noticing the red hair on Tasha's head, pulled her closer. "I knew you couldn't resist me." He pulled her even closer, thrusting his lips onto hers. Tasha tried her best to pull away from the man, but his arms were placed around her too tight. Eventually he let her go, their lips parting.
"Bloody hell, what was that?" Tasha spat at the man, moving his wand closer to his face so he could see who it was. It was James Potter. He had a stunned look on his face, as if he had just done something that he found completely atrocious.
"You're-you're not Lily," he stuttered out, pulling his blue blanket up, so that only his eyes were seen.
"Obviously," Tasha said, her eyes rolling amuck in their sockets. "Now will you tell me why I am here?"
James looked up at her and said, "Well, you fell and went unconscious. Remus found you and brought you up here so that you didn't, like, die or anything." Tasha nodded, but didn't say anything. She closed the drapes on James' bed and made her way over to the door and left, trying to do her best not to make any sound.
She walked down the steps, hoping that no one was in the common room. It had been years since she had been in the Gryffindor common room. Her steps were not silent, though. Heels never were. To no surprise, the man on the couch heard Tasha walking down the stairs.
"I see you're awake, that's good," Remus said, placing his book down on the coffee table in front of him. "I hope that none of the guys bothered you or anything, they can be can be kind of perverted at times."
"I've noticed," Tasha said, kneeling down and placing her head and hands on the back of the couch, her head about a foot away from Remus'. "Why are you down here and not sleeping?" she questioned.
Remus, with the perfect timing that he possessed, let out a sigh. "You were in my bed. And this couch is very far from ideal to sleep on." Tasha, once more, nodded and didnt say a word. They sat there and spoke nothing as time just passed.
"Oh," Tasha added, her mind slowly falling asleep, "thank you for, you know, saving me and all. It wouldn't have been any good if I had been caught out late. I get in trouble, way too much." Tasha laughed slightly, knowing that she had too much fun doing everything that she shouldn't.
Tasha made her way over to the couch and took a seat next to Remus. She eventually laid down, her legs sprawled across Remus' lap. She let out a yawn and then slowly fell asleep, the sound of pages turning singing her to sleep.
When she woke up again, she was in her own dorm, although she wasn't sure how she got there. She slowly got out of her bed, thankful that it was Saturday and there was no school. Tasha let out a small laugh as she thought of how she was making a habit of waking up in a place different from where she had gone to sleep.
She went down to the common room and then she made her way to the Great Hall. She swore she could already smell bacon and toast. She couldn't wait to eat. When it came to food, Tasha and food were closer than many people and their mother were.
She walked out of the cold dungeon, her heels making a clicking sound with each step she took. She nodded to a few of her fellow Slytherins that she saw walking the opposite direction. She entered the Great Hall and slid her way into the nearest spot she could on the Slytherin table. She ate her food, savoring each and every bite.
"Tasha, where were you last night?" Tasha looked up and saw Regulus standing up, looking down on her.
She swallowed the food that was currently in her mouth and said, "Long story, no need to worry about it, though." Her voice was quiet and low, as if she was afraid to be caught for doing something wrong. Regulus always knew when Tasha had just done she shouldn't.
He took a seat next to her, his eyes never leaving her as she stuffed her face. It was a miracle that she didn't gain weight. Then again, she went running for two hours every morning. She knew all the paths and trains within the forest before her second year ended just from running.
"Tell me what's going on. I know something is up." Regulus took a piece of toast and began to eat himself. Food was always great there. Not even Regulus, who hated so many things, could disagree with that fact.
Tasha shrugged her shoulders and said, "Like I said, it's nothing you need to worry about." Tasha took a swig of her water, trying to think of some way to change the subject. "You find anything out from the fellow Slytherins?"
"Everyone said they had no idea what was up. It was hard to tell who was lying and who was telling the truth, most of them have perfected the art of lying." Tasha nodded in agreement, it was the truth about all Slytherins; they were natural born liars.
"We'll have to use other means to find out what is going on." Tasha's signature devilish grin grew on her face. Regulus let out a small chuckle and looked around at the nearly empty Great Hall. Only seven people were still in vicinity and only Regulus knew four of them. There was James Potter, his brother, Remus Lupin, and Tasha's sister.
Rosabel was looking at her sister, hoping she would look back at her. She desperately wanted to talk to her; there was something that she just couldn't put from her mind. It was also something that only talking to an older sister could help. Tasha, however, didn't notice a single other person in the Great Hall. She finished her food and left with a rush, not even telling Regulus that she was leaving.
Regulus walked over to Rosabel and sat down next to her. "Did you need to tell Tasha anything? I could see you eying her, but she was too busy with her food. I'm sure you know how that is."
Rosabel laughed. "I sure do. It does get a bit annoying after awhile, in truths, but she's always been like that. As for wanting to tell her anything, I do, but not really anything I want you to know about." She laughed again, her goblet placed to her lips.
"Okay, I'll tell her you need to talk, though." Regulus got out of his seat and left the Great Hall, looking back just once to glare at his brother. The space between just kept getting bigger. This year wasn't going to be any different. This year, if anything, Regulus knew probably would just bring them even farther apart. No matter how much he secretly missed his brother, he knew that the brother he once loved was gone. He also knew that the brother that Sirius loved was far gone and never, ever coming back.
Sirius walked over to Rosabel and asked, "What was that about?"
She looked up at him and said, "Just delivering a message." She smiled as she swallowed some pumpkin juice. "He's not that bad," she added, almost yelling at Sirius as he walked over to his friends.
He turned around and looked at her, her blond hair shinning in the light. "You don't know him the way I do." He let out a sigh, joined his friends, and left Rosabel all alone in the hall.
As he walked up to the common room, Sirius turned to his friends and said, "Can you believe Regulus? I bet he was one that cursed Rosabel yesterday..." Sirius went off on a small rant about his brother. No one listened; they had heard it all before. Every since there second year and Regulus was placed into Slytherin, Remus, James, and Peter had to listen to his on going rants.
They reached the common room and entered without a care in the world. When James saw Lily, her red hair looking beyond perfect, a picture of Tasha entered his mind, whose red hair looked almost as perfect as Lily's. He shook the picture of her out of his head. James couldn't believe that he had gotten anywhere near her, let alone kissed her. He felt the sudden urge to brush his teeth.
However what he decided to was walk over to Lily and try once more to hook up with her. He made up the best pick up lines on the spot that he could. However none of them worked. By the time he was done, Lily had slapped him three times and ended up barging off, hitting in the head with her book as she left.
Despite all of this, James had a smile on his face. It was all because the picture of Tasha in his head had disappeared and he had a feeling that it wouldn't be coming back.
Three hours later, in the middle of the forest, Tasha ran around, Regulus' hand placed into hers. They needed a place to go where they could be alone. In the Slytherin dorms and common rooms, the walls heard everything and then would tell whoever wanted to know. The only place that was really safe was only know to a very few students at Hogwarts.
Regulus wasn't sure where they were heading, but held onto Tasha, almost as if his life deepened on that. Tasha winded through the forest, her body dodging all the obstacles in her way. Regulus, who didn't go running in the forest every day like Tasha, ran into many trees and tripped and multiple tree roots.
Tasha would just laugh at her friend as he did he best to get back up. She would wait until he was back on his feet to take his hand and make their way through the maze of trees. Tasha knew the way to avoid the creatures in the forest, although many of them knew her and didn't have any problems with her.
They finally reached the spot - a secluded, large open space. No one ever came there; very few people had ever been there. Like many placed throughout the world thought that the spot was haunted. Tasha was among the select few that knew that it was - or at least in some sense.
The biggest difference lies in the fact that ghosts are seeable and the fact that ghosts were all once wizards and witches or other of the like. Here, however, it was what could be considered spirits all just voices, all mortals. All of which could be heard by Tasha. At times, it sounded like an angry mob, yet others it sounded like the most gorgeous chorus line.
Tasha sat on the hard, dirt ground, beckoning Regulus to join her. He sat down, muttering a spell so that the ground would be softer, a little more bearable. They looked at each other, but no one spoke anything. Tasha drew shapes in the sand, trying to ignore the little whispers that were flowing through her head.
She brushed away her picture and placed her hands behind her, placing her weight onto her hands. Tasha did her so to concentrate on the voices, trying to decipher what they were saying. When she became perfectly intone, sometimes the voices - spirits if you prefer - would show her things that no other person could see.
Her eyes closed tightly, although she could still feel Regulus' eyes on her. She did her best to tune him out, just enough until she could only hear once voice.
Regulus wasn't sure what was happening, but for almost a half hour she just sat there. Even when Regulus yelled at her, she didn't show any signs of response. Then, out of no where, she sat up with a jolt, saying, "The Dark Lord is coming."
I will marry a vampire one day.
