Chapter Eighteen: Haunting Memories.

Good god
Is it true?
Is this really part three?
Sorry for the delay and such.

I tried not to think about what Itachi would do to me for using up my chakra like that. I really wasn't in the mood for sex, as Sasuke had already had me on edge since the moment I got to Konoha. But, in the last year I had grown accustomed to the almost nightly work out with Itachi.

I suppose I just began enjoying it more then what was really healthy for someone my age. Itachi noticed and was thoroughly pleased. However, he would make it worst for me if he found out that I wasn't exactly turned on enough to where I would make the night sexually better for him.

I shook my head, "We should make camp for now." I looked at Kakashi who was looking up at the sky. "I'll go get wood for fire." He nodded and I darted off into the woods with Takai. I stopped at a stream. "Itachi-sama?" I felt a finger tap my shoulder and I turned around to see him. I smiled. "Itachi-kun! I've missed you so much."

"Gow long do you thing this will take?" His tone was emotionless, as always, but it didn't effect my mood.
"Hopefully only a few more weeks. I have to wait for the Sakura festival. That is when I will strike." He nodded, "And my brother."

I snorted, "Isn't a factor. I could care less if he went down with his precious village." It wasn't hard to tell that Itachi was pleased with the idea. "Don't kill him just yet. I have something else in store for him."
I nodded, "Hai, I should get back before they grow suspicious." I stood up on my tip toes and kissed him on the lips, as a parting gift.

Takai had been gathering wood while I was speaking with Itachi. I grabbed what he had managed to find and brought it back to the campsite. I dropped it beside the fire pit Sai had made and watched as Sasuke stared the fire. I sat down beside it looked around at the tents. It occurred to me then that I had forgotten my sleeping pills. Damn, another night of lost sleep.

Naruto made some instant ramen for everyone, which I ate scantly. After all, eating was the least of my concerns. There were too many things on my mind to concentrate. "I'll take first watch, then Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, Sai, and Tsukiko."

We nodded and got into our tents to get ready for bed. Me and Sakura shared one, while the boys shared another, and Kakashi had his own. I turned onto my side, staring at the interior wall of the tent. My body shook uncontrollably.

Even if Sakura was a girl, even if no one was around to do me harm, and no matter how used to sleeping with Itachi I got, I could never get use to going to sleep. It was a subconscious thing, and even time I laid down it brought me back to the night I lost my virginity.

I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to force the images and recollection of pain out of my mind. I could feel the ropes around my wrists and the helplessness it brought. Takai curled up beside me, trying to help. But it didn't do anything for my being.

I regretted falling asleep instantly, as I woke up screaming. It nearly scared Sakura to death, Naruto burst into the tent, as it was his shift. "Where is she?" Sakura looked around, "I don't know she just disappeared!" By now everyone was awake, and for the most part annoyed. I suppose I could be a nuisance if I wanted to be.

I hit my head against the tree. "Just a dream, just a dream, stay focused. Why did I come out here?" because I felt like I had to run for my life, for my sanity. "Shut up!" Damn it, now I'm talking to myself. I closed my eyes for a split second, seeing a flash of a vision.

Sasuke and Sai were headed right for me. Ok, now let's see what can be my excuse? I tapped my chin with my index finger, trying to make up a believable story about why I had run off. Even though it was done on instinctive actions. However, only Sasuke knew about Itachi's doings so...this could be difficult. I put my hands into my pockets and casually began walking towards camp.

Sai and Sasuke began running into view in no time. I watched them boredly as they come to a halt. "What happened?" I walked past them,
"I didn't bring my sleeping pills."
"So?" I snorted as Sai's blunt question.
"So I had a nightmare." If you could call it that.
"That's it? You ran away from a nightmare?" I felt Sasuke tense at Sai's question.

"Iie. Aho. It's my kekkai genkai I was running from." (Translation: no. dumbass.) I sighed, "the Shinkirou Kiraboushi not only forces me to relive my memories, but when I wake up it creates mirages of people in it. I was running from what my subconscious thought was potential danger."

I acted like running for my life was nothing, and in reality it really wasn't. "The sleeping pills keeps me from waking up and making a fool of myself like I just did." I walked into the camp site to see Takai waiting patiently. He barked at me and I nodded, showing him that it was just another dream.

My chakra is still quite low. I should have been more sparing with it. "Takai, go find the others. No sense in them being out all night." He nodded and ran off into the woods. "Now if you'd excuse me I'll be in that tree." I pointed to the tree behind them and jumped up into it.

I closed my eyes and exhaled slowly. I wasn't tired, since I had gotten so much sleep the night before. However, it was taking a lot of work to keep my thoughts from drifting. The truth of the matter was, I could easily put up a barrier that would last all night and go to sleep myself. If only those damned nightmares didn't haunt me so badly.

I didn't need the sleep, but sitting here in the midst of cricket chirps was really thought provoking. I had everything planned out, every step I would make, every word that would come from my mouth. This plan was full proof...only there was a thought in the back of my head.

A voice that told me something was out of place. Something was going to be different and I'd have to reconstruct the whole thing. But, thinking like this was something I had been doing for three years now. It wasn't any different from back then. It was the only thing that ever irritated me, but it was the only thing I could do in safety.

"Chikuso."

I woke up a few minutes later to the sound of Sasuke screaming...Itachi had him right where he wanted him, with his Tsukuyomi. "Sasuke-kun!" I tried to run towards him but Kisame knocked me back with his sword. I landed on my butt and stared in horror at the scene before me. I never heard him scream like that before... He kept on screaming too, making me burst into tears. "Itachi-san please stop!" Kisame laughed at me, at my foolishness. It was....it was...I don't really know how to say it...heartbreaking?...Hai heartbreaking to hear him in so much pain. And here I was, cowering in fear, unable to move! Itachi ignored me, of course. "Cut it out already, you bastard!" Naruto's voice startled me, but did not help the state I was in. Jiraiya did a jutsu to make the walls turned into a frog esophagus? ew..."Kisame, get her." He nodded and picked me up, slinging me over his shoulder. They began running away and I reached out to Jiraiya, "Jiraiya-sama!"
"Don't worry Tsukiko-chan, no one has ever escaped from this!" His words didn't encourage me, because deep down I knew that if anyone could get out of this jutsu, it was Itachi. And, they did get out...with me helplessly slung over Kisame's shoulder.

I looked down sadly at Sasuke's tent. "Kuso baka." (damn idiot) I shook the thoughts from my head. "The sun should be up in a few more hours, I shouldn't let my mind keep wondering." Takai barked at me, "Nani?" I looked down at him, through the lower branches of the tree. The boys' tent opened and Sasuke stepped out of it and into the night.

I closed my eyes quickly, but regretted it. I saw a pair of sharingan eyes staring at me, Itachi's red eyes. My eyes snapped open. I couldn't stand those eyes, those cold, cold eyes. Sasuke looked up at my frightened face and jumped up to see what was wrong. I casually looked off to the side, acting like it was nothing. "What is wrong?" It made me smile,
"You make it sound like there is something right." He seemed too serious for everything.

Arrival in Konoha

I didn't talk much, as there wasn't really anything to say. I was ashamed of waking everyone up last night, but that was furthest from my mind at the moment. "Hey, Kakashi, Tsunade just announced the Sakura Festival is next Friday." I stared at the familiar hideous green jumpsuit.

"What is your point Gai?" He winked,
"This is how I will finally beat you in our 60-60 tie!" I squatted down to my nindog's level and whispered, "Go find the plans for the Festival." He nodded and scampered off, "And how do you plan on doing that?" Gai smiled his famous smile, a sparkle gleaming off his teeth. I think I'm going to be sick. "By getting a date before you!"

It really is sad how funny that statement was. "I need to go." Kakashi volunteered Naruto to be my "guard". This was really starting to get ridiculous. "Suki-chan! Wait up!" I casually looked over my shoulder, "Let's go get some ramen, Naruto-kun." He laughed and ran up to my side. I put my hands it my pockets, and began to stare at the path in front of me. "You're not as oblivious as you used to be, Naruto-kun." He stared at me, a confused look on his face. My expression was blank, like it used to always be when we were younger.

"Is that a compliment or an insult." I smiled slightly, noting the people walking along the streets, buying and selling food and other goods. "Just take is as a compliment, that way its easier for both of us, Naruto-kun." His confusion did not leave is face, "Why do say my name so much?" My face fell, my gaze shifting to the ground. Truth was, there wasn't much reasoning behind the needless repetition. I suppose it was just a way to hold on to the present, before I lose it at the Sakura Festival.

But, I couldn't tell him that.

"To make up for lost time, that's all. I can stop if it bothers you." He laughed again, while smiling cheekily, "I don't care Suki-chan! You just sound so....sad when you say it that's all." We sat down beside each other on the stools of the ramen stand, "Habit I guess." He pretended not to hear the comment and ordered five bowls of ramen, while I got the simple one bowl of chicken ramen.

But another sat down beside me. "Sasuke, I did not know you'd be joining us. I may not have enough money with Naruto-kun's stomach." Naruto snickered at my cold tone and the fact that I didn't say Sasuke-kun. "Who said I was going to eat any of this unhealthy garbage." The cook scowled as he placed a bowl in front of me and two in front of Naruto,

"Well this garbage happens to be one of my favorite foods, and if your feelings are as strong as you implicate then maybe you should leave." He let out a barely audible growl from his throat, "And leave you in the hands of this loser?" I turned to him, my eyes narrowed dangerously, "Arrogance will be your downfall, Sasuke-teme, I'd mind your mouth if I were you."

Another snicker from the boy beside me, "You're no better Naruto-kun, hurry up and eat so I can go look for a kimono for the Sakura Festival." But even after the harsh words, he did not leave. Damn the persistence of Uchihas. Thank Kami they're all dead! Takai walked up at that instant, laying down lazily by my feet. I glanced down at him and he nodded slightly. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Sasuke staring at the two of us, but I dismissed it as some insidious thing clueless ninjas do.

After finishing up my last noodle, I turned to see Naruto on his last bowl. He downed it quickly and grinned at me while I paid the bill, "I'm sorry that you couldn't have had more. I think I have a few extra meal tickets at home. If they're not expired by now then I'll give them to you." He let out a cheerful "Yay" before following me obediently towards the side of town that had the best clothing shops. Sasuke stared at us curiously, wondering how I was able to make Naruto obey me so frivolously.

"Hey Naruto, have you ever noticed Tsukiko's eyes?" He turned to face Sasuke, while I was in the shop changing. "Huh?" The Uchiha was staring intently at the store window, "They're blank. Even why she smiles or glares, they never change." Naruto blinked, having never realized the strange feature before, "Ever since she came back, they've been that way." He still didnt understand what his teammate meant by the sudden question, "Doushite?" Sasuke turned to him, a look of seriousness on his face, "My brother."

"Oh dear you look positively dashing, we can get you fitted right away just-" I glared at my reflection, "No. I hate it." The sales woman helping me sighed desperately; so far after eight kimonos I had been disgusted with anything she handed me.

After searching once more and checking a list of preferences I gave her, she handed me an elegant red kimono:
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
I tried it on and stared at my reflections blankly, "Finally your stupidity hasn't gotten in the way of things." It was cut in such a way that fighting would be easy, and the thick layers wouldn't get in my way. I quickly changed out of it and handed the clerk the right amount for the expensive clothing.

I stepped outside to see Naruto and Sasuke's eyes glued to the window even after I had walked out. "Naruto-kun, I have work to do. Standing here gawking at nothing will do us no good." He turned his head, startled, a strange expression on his face. I noticed he was staring into my eyes, as well as Sasuke. It was as if they were trying to find something in them, something that wasnt there.

Look all you want, but youll never find it. I turned away and started walking, behind me Naruto gave Sasuke a shocked look. He only nodded before the two began following me.

"Hey Sasuke-kun!" I twitched at the sound of that grating voice. I glared over my shoulder catching the glimpse of a familiar blonde clinging to the Uchiha desperately. Naruto caught my gaze and shuttered under it. I quickly placed my hands together and muttered, "transportation jutsu."
