I opened my eyes up friskily, and raised up for the shout of the morning. "Garaaah!" I yelled in gibberish while releasing a large stretch. "Another day.." I smiled, laying my arms down on me, and looked around sleepily, quickly pulling out one of the apples from my prettyful basket. The one I stole. I guess I couldn't get over the fact that I was practically a criminal now. I specifically wanted live a difficult life, but old habits die hard. Stealing was fun, and is always good for a snicker of pride. "What to do today.."
I leaned back on the wall and looked out the window at the morning light, "I don't need food. I could scrap a few Ryo for the bath house...." I took a large chomp out of the apple and chewed it wildly, free to chew with my mouth as wide as I want. I smirked wildly as no one shouted at me to "eat properly" any longer. I greedily smiled, "Sure!"
I stood up, dusting off my legs and jumping out the the side window of my humble abode. I scattered through the trees, the feelings of freedom and criminal running through my veins. As soon as I reached Konoha's outskirts, I watched a few people travel down the pathway I saw, looking for any dropped Ryo; before resorting to peculation. I sighed in defeat; alas, no Ryo was on the ground. Who in their right mind would drop some anyway?
I painted over the sigh with a smirk, and spotted my victim. Middle-aged woman, perfect target. I dashed up and walked to her, waving my hand. "Excuse me, ma'am!" I smiled, blocking her path. "Hm? Can I help you?" I smiled to see she was friendly. "I need some kind of paper to write down groceries with; mind if I borrow some from you?"
She half-smiled, "I'm sure I have some," and reached down for her pockets. I hid my arm and reached in her small handbag, that was on the other side of her, as she searched. I brought out a small pouch and stuffed it in my shirt as she rose back up. She frowned as she found no paper. "I'm sorry, dear.." She sighed. "Oh, no, I'm sure I can find some around here!" I stretched my arms to represent Konoha. She smiled and went on her way. I brought the kitty-shaped wallet to my face, "Checkmate!" I smiled and looked around to see if anyone noticed.
No person confronted me, and the woman continued walking. I jumped a bit, proud of my accomplishments, crime or not. Running to the bath house, I quickly paid (with money to spare) and washed myself clean. My clothes got a bit of a wash too, I just threw them in with me. I walked out happily and felt much better. Any trail of mine was gone, sent, sight...maybe even smell... A small dog appeared at my feet and pawed at my skirt. I looked down in surprise, "What's wrong, Inu-kun? Lost your owner?" He continued to paw at my feet.
I picked him up by his chest and behind, cradling him into my chest. His fur was soft, and I praised him. "I'm happy to help a fellow dog-family resident, Inu-kun. If you had been a kitty, that's another story," I smiled at him. I felt around his neck to see if a collar was on him. I frowned, no sign of ownership was there. A bit like myself.. I shook my head frantically, and looked the pup in the eye, smiling. "Could it be you saw my ears, and thought of me as a friend?" I laughed. He barked in reply. I beamed at how adorable he was. "There! That girl stole my wallet!"
My eye size extensively increased, and I turned around in horror. The woman from earlier was pointing a finger at me, with a few people behind me. "Get her!" One shouted, and I instinctively bonded for the trees, the dog still in my hands. I wasn't too, too far away from it, but they were gaining fast. If I went directly to my tree, they would follow me directly there. I panted wildly and made a large turn, running through the streets, and grasping the dog in my hand. "I bet that's not even her dog! She's a dog-napper!" I wanted to shriek in happiness at the fun this was, but I knew that this time was different. I had never been chased by that many people; some of them were large men. If I was caught this time, I would be seriously hurt.
This time I wasn't looking for excitement. I was scared. Engi-kun.. My thoughts raced as I ran more and more, yet my lungs were bursting, giving out on me already. I had to stop someplace, and fast. I breathed faster and looked back for one instant of a second, for that instant, no looking to the path before me. Like a horror story, the innocent and beautiful damsel looks back and trips, only to be cornered by the evil, brain sucking zombies. Only, this time, I was not innocent, nor beautiful damsel, and the people behind me wouldn't touch my brains.
They would only kill me. I gasped a squeezed the dog a bit, holding him to my chest to protect him as I lost my feet on the ground. I fell forward and rolled into a rough corner, and when I finally stopped, I pulled myself up so my back faced the back curtain of a booth. I let out a large pant as my lungs continued to burn a hole through my chest, and I released some grip of the dog. I pushed up on my hand to get up and run again, I knew it wouldn't take long for the mob to turn the corner.
Before I could raise up, two arms swooped over my stomach and instantly pulled me back into the curtain, and I squeezed my eyes shut. ENGI-KUN! "Oi! Open your eyes!" A male voice hissed a me.
I shook my head wildly and held onto the dog. It barked and I could feel it's furry self squeeze out of my arms. "Huh?" I popped open my eyes and saw the dog on top of a boy's head. Brown hair scruffed his face, eyes like tiny slits, and red marks down his face stared at me with an annoyed face. He looked almost like Engi-kun...not much..just a slight remembrance. "Where'd she go?!" "Find her!" I exhaled for the first time and looked to the shadows cast on the curtains. "You didn't have to freak her out so bad.." "How else should I have approached it, eh, sensei?"
The boy looked up from me with a tiny scowl, but continued to hold me by my stomach. "K-Kiba-kun....just put her down.." "Fine!" He took his arms back to himself and I scooted to the far end of the tent, gaping at the people who had, apparently, attempted to kidnap me. "What the hell is wrong with you people!?" I whispered loudly, looking at their faces, pointing a loud and hateful index finger at them. The tallest, twenty-looking woman grabbed my hand, "Don't swear. Swearing is for good girls."
I raised an eyebrow, but tugged at my hand none-the-less. "If your looking for a kidnap, you've come to the wrong girl. I'm tougher than I look," I sent a very ugly glare at the crimson-eyed woman grasping my wrist. I slipped it through and rolled below the large curtain, and jumped up to run again. My lungs still hurt terribly, but I just wanted to go home for now. I scrunched my eyes a the thought of kidnap...mame...rape. I began egging my legs to go faster, my fear pressuring my lungs. A white-pupiled girl from the earlier group appeared in front of me as I went. She fiddled her fingers and looked nervously at me, "You can't go, Hitori-chan..." "How do you people know me?!" I shouted and spun around on my heel, and she never touched me, oddly just letting me go.
I smiled greatly as the trees came into my view, and I scurried into the bushes, a small "swish" occurring. I thought they would be gone by now, and that I would be safely concealed. "Come out! Now!" Wrong. I was pulled by my hand to the ground, and the lady once again grabbed my hand. Only this time, it was both hands. She held me down on the ground, and looked me straight in the eye. "I apologize," She sighed, and her eyes suddenly became large crystals. Slowly hypnotizing...slowly...very sleepy... My eyes drooped and I stood still.
She had put some kind of spell on me. "Now, you must cooperate. We spent the entire night looking for you. I suggest you listen, or we will resort to force." She kept staring into my eyes directly, and I couldn't snap out of the faze. The four of them surrounded me once again, the three that were missing jumping down from the trees above. "Finally..." the boy I saw earlier sighed. I tried to look at his face, so I could get some kind of hope. I couldn't for the woman held my face to look at me. "Matsudai Hitori.." she spoke my name. I looked wide-eyed at her. my heart pounding in unimaginable fear. "It's time for you to go home."
She must have ended the gaze at that very point, for I could think and speak at that moment. "Home?!" I hissed and shot a glare at her, "My parents sent you, huh." "Yes, they did. They miss you like crazy, moron, so we're bringing you home." The boy said it as cold as I'd ever heard. I eyed the rest of the group and got an image of them in my mind. "I am out here for a reason, and it's none of my parent's business. I will come home when I succeed. Please tell them that," I calmed down as I said this, and the woman closed her eyes, standing up and letting go of my wrists. I didn't run, but looked at the ground. "We have a specific job to bring you home...Hitori-chan..." The younger girl one spoke to me gently.
I eyed her with softer expressions and looked at the ground. "I need to stay here. I promise, I will come home when I have done what I have needed." "Sorry, girl, but when we have a mission, we completely. It's a do or do situation. You're going home whether you like it or not." I creased my eyebrows in anger at the boy's continuous rude comments. The other boy refused to speak for some reason, but I didn't take to much note to it. I stood up and smiled pitifully, "I guess I have to give up don't I? I don't have a choice at all." The woman nodded, not a sad or angry expression on her face. "Then tell me your names..." "I'm Yuuhi Kurenai, that's Hyuuga Hinata," she threw a thumb to the girl, "That's Inuzuka-" The second she turned her head to look at Kiba for reference, I smirked and shuffled right back into the bushes.
I ran even faster this time, my lungs recovered enough to run like I wanted. I dashed for seconds at a time and eventually began walking, until I collapsed on the ground completely gasping and begging for air. I looked up and beamed with tears of joy as my tree house laid in front of me. I forced my legs to lift me up and walk to the rope ladder, climbing slowly up into the warm room. I crawled from the entrance to the covers and fell onto them with a small "poof".
I exhaled with deep pleasure. I was home and no one could touch me. I was home and I was safe. But no more robberies for along time. I felt a small tug on my shoulder, and let a small shout as it came to a pull and the four stood in front of me once again. The woman, Yuuhi, held my shoulder. "Wrong answer." I stared at them with the widest eyes I could muster, and I Yuuhi's arms moved like lighting, making signs I had never seen. "Chikara Nemuri no Jutsu!" He shouted and her eyes seemed to impulse and I suddenly felt very tired again. I dazed around and swayed my eyelids, before slowing closing them and falling down onto the floor. "Aburame Shino and Inuzuka Kiba.""
