"Denise! Its been to long love."
We were all walking out to the car, I pretty sure Denise and my mother had forgotten about my dad and I, and Denise's sons seem to fall behind us, I could hear sly whispers, but I pretended not to car and smiled at my dad. He noticed briefly and nudged my shoulder grinning. I know my parents were so happy at this moment, and I should be too. But on the inside I was scareaming; half of me wanted to turn around and jump back on that plane.
I looked around at the new surronding; the weather was warm, really warm considering it was the beginning of Summer. Lucky for me, that meant I didn't have to start a new school for 2 or 3 more months. But it meant getting use to a new state, rules, house, everything. But once again; if it made my parents happy, I would do it.
We finally reached a black SUV, and my dad helped Mrs. Jonas open the back and place our bags in. My mom shuffled into the passenger seat, and my dad headed to sit in the way back, before I had a chance to get into the car, Mrs. Jonas grabbed my elbow and pulled me into a side-ways hug. I grinned and hugged her back.
"God, you've gotten so grown up, last time I saw you, you were 8! Now your double that; 16! You're gorgeous, your father must be concerned about boys all over you." I couldn't help at laugh at that; she had always been a sweet women.
I remember everything she would come out and visit she'd buy me ice cream and take me shopping with her and mom. She use to be like a second mom to me, maybe that will come back, I would have 2 mom's for advice! "Awh, thanks Denise! You look really nice, and thanks for taking us in for a month, it means alot to us."
"Oh phss, I would do anything for you family!". She gave me one last smile and we climbed into your seats. My dad sat in the back with the oldest and the one with cool flipped out brown hair. That left me to sit in the middle with the youngest, he had brown curly hair, and the cutest smile I had ever seen. His skin seemed to be flawless and his clothes were awesome, he looked like a boy that shopped at Wet Seal, Hot Topic, and Zumiez combined. And let me tell you; its working for him.
I quickly slid into the seat next to him, and pulled out my phone. I had to turn it off for the plane ride, and I wanted to know if I had any missed calls or texts. I pushed down the red end call button and saw my phone light up. it viberated to tell me in was on, and sure enough I had 3 texts and 2 missed calls.
The 3 texts were from Kayla, Sarah, and Mercedes. The missed calls were from Christian and Emily. I made a mentally note to call back Christian and Emily, and just sent Kayla, Sarah and Mercedes the same text message saying 'HI:) I miss you guys already". I looked up from my phone and heard my mother talking rapidly and my father talking with the oldest about music and life. They seemed to know each other pretty well, maybe I've met them, but it's just been long since I had.
The window view seemed pretty, the little stores and a people all looked normal, but just being here made it seem different. I guess I had to get use to this 'different'.
"So Becky. Hows Mike and yourself?" I heard Mrs. Jonas ask. I started to blush, obviously my mom hadn't told her. The car got really quiet, it seemed everyone awaited my answer. "Oh, well...I kinda broke up with him 3 weeks ago". A frown appeared on her face, "oh, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have brought it up".
"Oh nonono! It's okay, I'm over it believe or not". I smiled to reassure her, she nodded and started talking to my mom again, everyone went back to there conversations again, and I was left in akward silence with myself.
Mike was my ex boyfriend, I didn't tell my parents why I broke up with him. But I had my reasons, trust me. But the shocker was that we had been together for almost 8 months and I wasn't even heartbroken. But my curiousity to that still bothers me, but what he did to me doesn't. [You'll find out more later in the story...]
Weird, right?
As the weird feeling of thinking about Mike started to go away, we pulled into a very nice neighborhood. Big houses that took up double the space of my old house. Was this the neighborhood we were going to be living in?
Dayummm.
I smiled to myself, maybe this move wasn't bad after all. My phone viberated. I frowned once again. Yes it would be, I don't have my friends. I opened my phone to see a sweet text message from Josh;
Were sitting in my living room
talking about the good time with you:)
Remember one thing.
WE LOVE YOU!
I sent back a text message with a happy face that said "I love you guys too, and I'll call everyone as soon as we got settled in. I could wait to hear all their voices. I looked up and saw that we had pulled into a long drive way. The house at the end was red and black bricked with a long overhang of plants in the front. It was a huge two-story with pillars next to the 2 door front.
Wow. Huge much?
As the car engine was turned off, everyone started to climb out of the car and opening the back door to pull out our bags. I was the last one to get out of the car, I guess my mind was just somewhere else. I'm just not use to moving, this actually was the first time I've ever moved. I had always lived back in Califorina in the old house.
The old house.
Eh, yesterday I would have never said that. But I guess it's a "memory" now.
I went back to help everyone, I noticed that the 3 boys were once again stealing glances at me, finally one of them spoke up;
"Hi, I'm Kevin. Sorry, my mom was so excited about seeing your mom she must have forgotten to introuduce us." he laughed, and turned around a pointed to the second oldest. "That's Joe, and that's Nick," last he pointed to the youngest.
I nodded my head smiling slightly, "And I'm Becky."
They all nodded and said 'hi' again. "So how old are you Becky?" Joe asked, his hair flipped as he looked back up at me, he was pulling out a bag. "Oh, 15, you guys?".
"19." Kevin said.
"17." Joe squealed.
"15." the youngest, Nick, finally spoke.
As I looked at him, he smiled and pointed to the house, "I'll show you your room after dinner, Okay?"
"Okay, thanks."
We all headed in, making small talk about the plane ride and leaving Califorina. The parents seemed to have disappeared into the kitchen to start making dinner or something. The boys pointed to the back door, and I followed.
They opened the back door, and we stepped onto a very nice wooden deck with 3 bar chairs and a glass high-table. There was a rail, and if you went to end of the deck, you had a nice view of the large in-ground pool, the backyard was HUGE!
"Let me out,
let me out,
I am suffocating,
I can't live without!
I looked down at my jean pocket, and saw my cell phone screen glowing. I pulled it out quickly and flipped it open,
"Hey."
"Are you there!?"
Sarah!
"Yes, I got here a little less than an hour ago."
"We miss you already!"
"I've only been gone a day Sarah! Haha."
"Yeah, well I still miss you, love."
"Awh, well can I call you later? I just kinda got hear and I need to put my stuff away and all that jazz."
"Of course, but you better call!"
"Haha, I will! Bye Sar!"
"Bye Beckster!"
I laughed as I hung up, and slipped the phone back in my pocket. I looked up and Joe, Kevin, and Nick were all starring at me again. "What?" I said chuckling again. "We can see your friends miss you!" Joe laughed and sat down in a chair, Kevin laughed to and followed suit to Joe. Nick just leaned against the rail and faced us.
"Come on kids! Were going out to eat tonight!" Mrs. Jonas voice shouted.
Just take a breath...
