I finished my guitar solo and hit the last note, causing the crowd to topple over each other with excitement. Applause littered the air and I proudly showed a peace sign on my fingers. The bassist, Demyx, stood awkwardly and twiddled his thumbs a bit. I could still tell how happy he was, though. I walked over and grabbed his wrists, holding them up. The crowd cheered and Demyx smiled.
Our lead singer, Anthony, was bathing in all the glory he could get. I rolled my eyes. I wasn't sure why, but I just didn't like him. Not at all.
Our drummer, of course, was Axel. He always had this thing of tossing around his drum sticks in which he would light on fire at the end of the show. I sighed. He would have to stop that soon enough or else we would waste too much money buying him new drumming sticks. Surprisingly today he just sat back and waved. He looked a bit too worn out for his fire act, anyway.
Anthony walked back and yanked my arm up into the air, rather hard.
"My girl!" he yelled, becoming empowered by the crowd's wild cheers. I smiled. But secretly I was planning a way to beat him up later for doing that. He knew I hated it. Which was probably why he was doing it.

Later on we were all hanging out at the local cafe, talking about what we did decently and what we sucked at during the concert. I wasn't paying too much attention to Anthony's self-praising session of how "amazing" his vocal talent is. I just seemed too interested in watching the marshmallows melt in my hot chocolate. Fun, no?
Axel suddenly waved to someone behind me. "Hey, Roxas!"
I turned around. A guy was standing behind me, waving back at Axel.
"This is my buddy Roxas, guys. He watched our show tonight."
We all greeted him. He sat down across from me and Demyx and immediately stated, "You all were awesome."
Anthony put his hand around my shoulder. "Isn't she quite the guitar chick? My little guitar chick was hot tonight, right?" He looked over at me. I grabbed Anthony's hand and twisted it. Standing up and grabbing my sweater, I slapped him hard in the face. "I am not your little guitar chick."
I turned to walk away but turned back around and slapped him in the face again. The whole table was silenced by shock and the only sound I heard was Anthony's groaning.
"... I've always really wanted to do that." I said before turning back around and storming off. I didn't care if the band rode back without me, I needed to find a way to convince them to kick Anthony out. For good.

"Hello?" I answered my cell. It said Axel was calling.
"About last night..."
"Ughh." I blew a piece of hair out of my face and frowned.
"Anthony's out. We kicked him off last night."
I almost jumped out of pleasure. "YESSSS!!!..... I mean-uh... so who's our new singer gonna be?"
"We're not sure. But the band has decided to have a meeting later tomorrow about it."
"Alright. See ya then."
"See ya."
I hung up the phone and did a mini happy dance. "No more perv! No more perv! Woohoo yeah! No more perv! No more! No more! No-"
I then realized I was in the middle of Burger King, being stared at by freaked out customers and employees looking for something more interesting to stare at than a packet of ketchup.
I started to put on an embarrassed look but shook it off and said, "I'll take a whopper. Don't skimp on the cheese, pal."

Upon getting my order I chose a booth and sat down, ready to eat like I hadn't for years. I frowned a little because I noticed that when I poked the bread, it sunk down a bit but never fluffed back up. Kinda gross.
I patted my stomach once I finished the sandwich. It felt so good to hear it stop growling at me.
"Mind if I join ya?"
I looked over and saw that guy from last night. Roxas.
"Sure!"
He sat across from me and smiled a bit. "Hungry, huh?"
I nodded frantically. "I was so hungry today that I didn't even care about the squishy bread!"
He unfolded the paper and poked his hamburger. His eyes squinted and his mouth gawked at the shape it left behind. He pushed it forward. "Well if you're still that hungry then you can have mine. Bleh!"
I laughed. "Thanks, but yeah. I have a feeling that I should skimp on the hamburgers, now."
We talked and talked. Almost as if we were old friends. I told him about me and my peeves and stories. And he told me about his. Before I knew it, we had become pretty tight. And what was funny was that it had all started at the simple poke of a hamburger.

"Well, it was really nice talking to you. . ."
"-----" I said, giving him my name.
"Ah. It was really nice talking to ya, -----."
We shook hands and I noticed how his eyes smiled when his mouth smiled. That was something you rarely found in people.
We both left and I got on the bus, ready to go home and sleep. In the middle of the afternoon.
"Gah!" I almost jumped when my phone started vibrating in my pocket.
I picked it up. "Oh, hey Axel."
"Hey. I just wanted to let ya know. We're having a meeting about our new singer in an hour. Meet at the usual place, alright?"
"Got it."
I flipped the phone closed and drooped my shoulders. Just when I thought I would get some friggin' ZZZZ's that Red-haired bossy-butt calls me. I just hope it's important this time. . .
I heard something coming from the direction of my window. It was pulled down a bit for some wind but I could hear something from outside the bus. I noticed we were stopped at an intersection so I reached up and pulled it down some more. I then realized what I was hearing.
I saw Roxas standing on the sidewalk at the intersection, singing a tune I knew well. Our band had played it before.
"Shot through the heart, but you're too late. . ."
With a sudden wanting to sing, I yelled out the window,
"You give love. . . a bad name."
Roxas looked up but the bus had started to turn and there was no way he could have seen me.
I flipped out my cell phone and immediately called Axel.
"Axel. Call that friend of yours and invite him to the meeting. He's our new lead singer."
<><><><><>
"Everyone present?" Demyx called out.
Axel and I looked at each other.
"Duh." I said.
"Hey, guys!"
We all looked over and Roxas was entering the room.
"Hey, Roxas!" we all called out.
"So what did you all need?"
"Well. . . uhm. . ." Demyx started tripping over his own words.
"Will you be lead singer in our band?" Axel finished.
Roxas looked disbelieving. He looked kind of like a child when they figure out that Santa Clause isn't real.
"But I don't really sing good-"
"Bull." I whispered.
"What?" Roxas looked at me.
"I heard you singing today."
"That was you?"
I nodded. "We could really use you, Roxas."
His eyes met with mine. I could see everything perfectly and I knew what his answer would be. but because of the nice person I am, I teased him into it.
"I know you wanna."
"Alright, alright, already!" He yelled with a smile.
Everyone cheered and I just laughed almost as if saying, "Told ya so."
<><><><><>
Roxas walked up to me as we were tuning up our instruments.
"I'm nervous."
I patted him on the back. "If I told you the 'imagine everyone in their underwear' thing you'd just screw everything up, so I'll tell you. . . just take it easy. You seemed perfectly serene singing on that sidewalk the other day."
He blushed. "Thanks."
I started to smile but grunted when someone yanked me from behind.
"How's my little guitar chick, eh?"
"Anthony, back off or I swear I will kick you in the balls." I said and then added as an afterthought, "If you even have any."
He let go of me but yanked me around to face him. "So you think you're just too hot now, huh? I bet you and this kid have been having the time of your lives."
"Leave Roxas out of this, damn-it."
"And why should I?"
"You're drunk. Get away from here. Now."
My voice was bigger than I but he bought it. However, he still wasn't done with Roxas who was standing not far away from us, clenching his fists.
"Leave her alone, okay?" He said with a surprisingly strong voice. It was way different than the honey-toned singing voice he had the other day.
"You can't tell me what to do, kid." Anthony threw a punch at him but was too stoned to even get a foot near his face. Roxas spun a kick at the back of Anthony's legs and Anthony lost balance. He fell to the floor, grumbling and cursing.
I flipped out my phone and called the cops, glad that the situation was over with. When they came they thanked me because apparently Anthony had been busy lately with stealing as well. I shook my head. "He screwed his own life up. I have no pity for him."
Axel bounced towards us and yelled in our ears, "SHOW TIME!"
We got on stage, took our bows and riled up the crowd for some serious rocking. Roxas looked like a pro as he took the spotlight and nodded over to us.
And on cue, he started to sing.
"Shot in the heart, but you're too late; darling you give love. . . a bad name."
And all of the music blared into focus, making the crowd literally erupt like a volcano.
After the song ended, roses were being thrown onto the stage, accompanied with the loudest cheers we had ever heard.
"Give it up for our new singer, Roxas!" Axel screamed.
Roxas smiled and picked up one of the roses from the stage. He walked back towards me and held it out. I blushed and took it. But he wasn't done. His hand touched my cheek. "Shot in the heart. . ." He sang.
The crowd awwed and finished the lyrics softly as I joined in. I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Darling you give love. . . a bad name."
And I kissed him softly. The crowd exploded and cheered as well as Demyx and Axel who were quite dumbfounded.
My only thoughts were of how much I loved this song.
Hope you all liked it! IT'S ALMOST 2008!!!!! YIPEEE!!!!!! Oh yeah and I got this game called Rock Band. It's basically Guitar Hero only you can play Drums and Vocals, too! And it's on the PS3 which means HIGH DEFINITION, BABY!! So I decided to write a Rock-ish story. XD
Have a great day, everyone!
