Tales of a Super Teen 002

Okay, so next chapter of T.O.A.S.T! I know this comes from nowhere, but if you don't like my story, then tough. Don't read it. I can't exactly change it to make it more interesting. It's only as interesting as the story it holds, and the story it holds has already taken place. I am the Writer. The Creator has made this happen. I am such a corny sack of potatoes. Well I hope you like it anyway. Kind of boring in my opinion, but only I can say that. It's my life. :P And you might think I sound like a player

A few weeks later

I was perched on the deck by our pool, soaking in some much sought after sun. The pool, a standing pool that held 12,000+ gallons of water) sparkled, reflecting patterns on my bronzing skin.

Riiiiiiiiing!! My cell phone interrupted the soothing lap, lap, lap of the water on the side of the deck.

The caller ID read: Ryan calling. I smiled softly.

"Hello?"

"Hey, what are you doing? Ryan asked curiously."

"By the pool. What are you doing?" I questioned back, emphasizing 'you'.

"Nothin', Curtis is here."

"I see." Curtis was always there in the summer, "Are him and MacKenzie still dating?"

"Hold on", I heard him yell to Curtis, and then to me he answered, "Nope".

"How come?" I asked, not at all surprised. They were forever breaking up, and making up.

"I don't know", probably no reason, he lowered his voice to a whisper, "they'll be dating again by next week."

I chuckled, yeah, they probably will be.

"So about the MountainCats game?" He brought up a possible weekend pastime we had been talking about.

"Oh sure, I'll ask my mom to order tickets. Okay?" I replied, just remembering the conversation.

"'Kay, sounds good, but hey, I gotta go. Curt wants to go swimming in the creek. I'll talk to you later."

Okay.

"Bye", he said tenderly.

"Bye", I said before hanging up.

Next week

We were at the MountainCats baseball game. A day filled with the smell of food, and the rest of the baseball sounds: erupting cheers, echoing boos, and the crack of baseballs.

"Take me out to the ball game", a deep, masculine voice rumbled. After further inspection, we noticed the woman didnt remember the words to the common American song.

Quaking with laughter we left the stadium after the game, grinning about the victory of the game. We dropped Ryan off at the campsite where his family was staying. We hugged and left.

One new message

My phone had been vibrating off the hook for the last week. All urgent text messages from Ryans dads phone.

I rolled my eyes after the hundredth text that read the same thing.

Hey Stella, wanted to know what you were doing...Love Ryan

I talked to Olivia, you guys had volleyball tryouts and band camp? Thats cool. Miss you. Love Ryan

At one point I became peeved. Why cant he leave me be? I obviously want my space?!

I turned off my phone. And logged onto Messenger.

"But what couldve gone wrong? I thought you two were a match made in heaven!" Olivia said astounded.

"Me too Stel, what went wrong?" Olivias mom chimed in. Liv just gave her the dont-butt-in look.

I tossed my phone to her and her mom. Momentarily, expressions of alarm and horror overtook their features.

"Clingy much?" Her mom said repulsively, "Ugh, you need to get rid of him."

"I do, don't I." I wrinkled my brow as if in deep thought. In reality, I was trying to think of a way to let him off easily. Not really deep thought.

Next week

After avoiding his calls and responding shortly with as few words as possible to his texts, I had come up with a short, but effective note to disintegrate our relationship. To be delievered: tonight.

I climbed out of our burnt orange FordEdge, and immediately following entry to the football game I dispersed from my family and sought a few friends. Finding Carly first, I ran over the plan swiftly and passed her the note. I spun away from her hastily and hunted out another friend to cower behind until the repugnant chore completed. I observed among my group of friends as Ryan opened the note, and then after finishing it, clench his teeth and stalk through the fence to stand with the football team.

Guilt pulsed through me like ice, but I had done the right thing...right?

First day of school

I strolled through the halls with Carly, MacKenzie (whom was dating Curtis again), Olivia, and Sam taking in the greatness that was high school. A bit intimidated by the hoards of seniors and juniors clustered by groups of lockers in spontaneous areas, we made our way to the band room where Carly, Sam, Olivia and myself would begin the day. MacKenzie said 'goodbye' as she entered her homeroom (art) and we entered the bandroom.

After being delievered from Carly and her love interest Mark flirting for the last 10 minutes of class, we exited the class and headed back toward our lockers at the other end of the tiny school.

Me and Mark had liked eachother when I was in 7th grade and he in 8th (yes, that makes him a sophmore), but now we were just friends. A senior, Jason, bear hugged Carly from the back and lifted her up (which was a bit harder than it seemed it would be considering he wasn't much bigger than her 5'7" frame. Short and stout. That's him.

Anyway, back to me. That sounds so self-centered. Is that because it is...?

We were passing through Junior's territory when I saw a boy, a boy I had never seen before. He was only a bit taller than me, and he was crouching trying to wrench his locker open. His hair was medium length, the ends curling slightly on his forehead. Caramel eyes looked annoyed and frustrated by his defying locker. There was a small hump in his nose, but it just made that feature so much cuter.

I broke my stare, feeling silly, even though he hadn't noticed a random girl gazing in his direction as if he were some kind of god.

From then on, I strived to know more about him. His name was Sebastian Walker. He was a freshman on the JV football team. His older sophmore sister was in my Geometry class.

Finally after pulling some strings with a sophmore named Peter who was on his football team, I got the chance to meet him.

Fortunately, we had a home volleyball game and would be staying after school.

Peter pushed through the freshman crowd to my locker and said, "Hey you comin'?"

"Yeah, yeah, hold on," I assured him, thrusting a stack of assorted notebooks into my backpack and slamming my locker shut. "Okay, lets go."

I didn't know why I was so anxious, I was just getting introduced. Wasn't I?

We approached him, I saw him bending over thrusting book after book into his bursting at the seams bag. I could have laughed if not for the situation.

"Walters," Peter called, "I have a friend I want you to meet."

Sebastian straightened up, his mouth slightly ajar and said coolly, "Hey."

I could just smile as charmingly as I was able to muster and mutter a rushed 'Hey' in reply.

"Walters, this is Stella. Stella, Sebastian. Okay well..." And he walked away.

"Peeeeter," I dragged of, realizing he wasn't about to come back.

"Well, just wanted to say hi," I fumbled, "Have a good practice."

"Yeah, later," he smiled and proceeded to stuff even more books into his straining bag. I didn't know carrying so many books was possible!

My legs were carrying me toward the gym where MacKenzie was waiting but my mind was far away.

His voice...it was much deeper than I thought it would've been. And his laugh, kind of hearty and rumbly. I shivered. My heart pounded.

'Oh no, not again,' I muttered, and yet I couldn't help but grin like a fool despite myself.
