Chapter 1: Just Meeting and Already Theres Some Chemistry
Im sorry it took forever to upload this chapter! Ive been having my friend beta it at school for more than a week now to make it perfect for you guys! Ive also got chapter in the process! These are pre-made chapters so if I take forever, its because Im ta“You’re perfect miss…? I’m sorry, I didn’t get your name.” the man said as he got up and reached over the table to shake the young girls hand.
”It’s Angeles Mr. Jonas, Dylan Angeles.” The girl answered, shaking the man’s hand.
”Well Ms. Angeles, all we have to do is get the papers in order, confirm everything with your parents and then we’re set.” Mr. Jonas informed her, getting up from the chair he was sitting at.
The two got up and left the coffee shop. Mr. Jonas led her to his car and opened the trunk and got out the necessary papers that she needed. He turned back to Dylan and handed her the papers in a folder.
”Well Ms. Angeles, these are the papers that your parents need to fill out and sign. Inside the folder has my contact information if they need to contact me or if they have any questions.” He told her and then handed her another piece of piece of paper. “I would also like to talk to your parents this Saturday if they are free.”
”Alright, Ill explain everything to them and well set up the arrangements.” Dylan told him.
The two shook hands, said their good-byes, and parted ways. Once she got home, she called out to her mother and got an answer from the kitchen. She entered the kitchen and there was her mother, preparing their dinner.
”Ma, anong kakainin natin?” Dylan asked her mother.
(A/N: Dylan is Filipino. She asked, “Ma/Mom, what are we going to eat?” Everything is pronounced the way it is spelled. If you have any questions, MESSAGE ME! I don’t mind answering any questions! *smile*)
”Kanin (Can-In) and adobo (A-dough-bow). Meron din (den) pancit canton.” Her mother answered her. (Translation: Rice and chicken. There is also pancit canton (Filipino chow mein).)
”Mom, I have some papers for you and dad to look at. It’s from that job interview that I had today. The one where I get to travel out of state.” She told her mom.
”Alright, we’ll look it over after dinner. Now, go upstairs, get cleaned up, and help me set up the table.” Her mother told her.
She nodded her head and went upstairs to her room. Once she reached her room, she dumped her bag on the bed and changed out of the clothes she wore at her interview. She changed into some shorts, a tank top and slipped on her flip flops. She washed her hands in the sink of her conjoined bathroom. Once she was done, she walked downstairs to help her mom with dinner and setting up.
”Dylan, tawag mo na ang tatay mo and ang kapatid mo rin. Na sa kwarto ang kapatid mo.” Her mom told her. “Ako na mag tatapos dito (dee-toe).” (Translation: Dylan, call you father and your sister. Shes in her room. Ill finish up here.)
She nodded her head and ran upstairs to get her little sister. She knocked on the door that said, “Reggie’s Room” on the door in multicolored foam letters. When she heard a “come in”, she entered her sisters room.
”Oi, Reg, kakain na. Baba ka na. Tatawag ko lang si papa.” Dylan instructed her younger sister. (Translation: Hey, Reg, its time to eat. Go down now. Im just going to call dad.)
”Ok, ‘lamat ate (ah-te).” Reggie told her sister, turning off the TV and heading downstairs after Dylan. (Translation: Ok, thanks sis.)
Reggie walked into the kitchen as Dylan headed to the garage. She walked inside and found her dad fixing up Reggies bicycle. She walked up to him and got his attention.
”Pa, kakain na.” She told her dad once he was looking at her. (Translation: Dad, time to eat.)
”Oh, ok, mag huhugas lang ako. I’ll be there soon.” He told her, wiping his hands on a rag. (Translation: Oh, ok, Ill just wash up)
She smiled and nodded her head. She turned and walked back to the kitchen. She saw her mom and sister putting the food on the table and decided to help. She took some of the food and brought it to the table and sat down with her sister once all the food was brought in.
”Dylan, saan na ang tatay mo?” her mom asked, sitting down at the table with her daughters. (Translation: Dylan, where is your father?)
”He’s coming. He’s just washing up.” She told her mother.
Soon her father came and they started dinner. Once they were all done, both Reggie and Dylan ran upstairs to their rooms. Dylan ran over to her bag from earlier and grabbed the folder that Mr. Jonas had given her. She went back downstairs and to the dining room where her parents were. She sat down at the table and handed the folder to her parents.
”Ok, so I got that assistance job that I applied for, and like I said, I would have to travel with them. But before you tell me I can’t go, Mr. Jonas set up a meeting with you both and you can call him any time. His info is on the card.” Dylan told her parents.
They didn’t argue with her, but smiled. They talked for a few hours and she agreed to their conditions. She had them sign the necessary papers, took the folder, and went up to her room. She put the folder away and changed for bed. She did her nightly routine and then went to sleep.
>>FF - Saturday: The Meeting>>
Dylan and her family walked into the hotel that Mr. Jonas was staying at. They walked towards the dining area where Mr. Jonas was meeting them. They saw him at a table with three other boys and walked towards him. When he saw Dylan and her family, he stood up and greeted them.
”Dylan, it’s nice to see you again, and this must be your family. Am I right?” he asked, extending his hand to her parents.
”Ma, pa, ito si Mr. Jonas.” Dylan said, turning to her parents. “Mr. Jonas, these are my parents, Sean and Marie Angeles.” (Translation: Ma, pa, this is Mr. Jonas.)
They shook hands and greeted each other. Then Mr. Jonas turned to the three quiet boys that were looking at them. He ushered them up to greet Dylan and her family.
”Mr. and Mrs. Angeles, these are my sons; Kevin, Joseph, and Nicholas.” Mr. Jonas told them. “Boys, these people are the Angeles family, Mr. and Mrs. Angeles, Dylan, and, oh, I’m sorry dear. I didn’t get your name.”
”My name is Regina, but everyone calls me Reggie.” Reggie told him with a smile.
”Well, it’s nice to meet you Reggie.” Mr. Jonas smiled at her and then turned to Dylan and his sons. “Boys, how about you show Dylan and her sister around the place, get to know each other. I need to talk with their parents.”
The boys just nodded their heads and Dylan took Reggie’s hand and followed the boys out of the dining area. They walked into the lobby and stood there, not knowing what to do.
”So, is Dylan really your name?” the boy with the Mohawk asked.
”No, its Adylan. Dylan is just one of my many nicknames, like Reggie’s real name is Regina.” Dylan explained to him. “So, who’s who?”
”Well, I’m Joseph, but call me Joe. These are my brother, Kevin and Nick.” The guy with the Mohawk said.
”Nice to meet you. So, what do you guys do for fun around here?” she asked them, looking around.
”Loads of things.” They guy with curly hair, now known to her as Nick, said.
”Like what? Like what?!” Reggie asked, jumping around.
”Oh, we do loads of stuff around here. We have a whole bunch of games in our room. We have a Wii, a PS2 and PS3, and an Xbox 360.” Nick said with a smug look.
”Do you have Guitar Heroes II or DDR Extreme?” Dylan asked, not seeming really interested or impressed.
”Um, Kevin, do we have those games?” Nick asked his eldest brother.
”We’ve got Guitar Heroes II, but not DDR Extreme.” He answered Nick’s question.
”Can we play?” Reggie asked, letting go of Dylan’s hand and running over to Joe, and then attaching her to his hand since she couldn’t reach his arm and giving him the puppy dog eyes.
”Argh! Those eyes! I can’t stand puppy dog eyes! I ALWAYS FALL TO ITS POWER!!” Joe bellowed, looking down at Reggie. “Make it stop! AH!!!”
Dylan just giggled at his over dramatic antics. She went over to them and bent down to Reggie’s height. She pulled Joes hand out of the younger girl’s grasp and turned to face her little sister.
”Reggie, tama na. Nag loloko na nga yung lalake.” Dylan told her sister, who started giggling at her sister’s words. “Mag patawad ka na.” (Translation: Reggie, stop now. The guy’s already going crazy. Apologize now.)
”Ok, ate (ah-te).” Reggie said and turned back to Joe. “I’m sorry Mr. Joe.”
(AN: Ok, there will be a small dictionary at the end of the chapter for some Tagalog words in this chapter and most likely in the other chapters.)
Joe looked down at the little girl and then at Dylan who was still kneeling down next to Reggie with a smile on her face. He watched Dylan intently. Dylan held her hand out to her sister and turned to Joe as she stood up. Once she was standing up straight, they noticed how close they really were to each other. She stepped back a little and had a small blush on her face. Joe’s face was pretty similar to her own. Then, out of no where, Dylan let out a small squeal as her cell phone vibrated in her pocket. She pulled it out and saw a text message from her mom. She opened it, read the text and quickly answered and sent it.
”Um, we should go. The parents are done with their meeting.” She told them, taking her sisters hand and walking back to where their parents were.
Once they all reached their parents, Dylan looked at her parents with hopeful eyes.
”Ma? Pa?” she asked them.
”Ok, pwede ka sumama sa kanila.” Dylan’s mom said. “But there are a few conditions.” (Translation: Ok, you can go with them.)
Dylan smiled at her parents and gave them both a hug and a kiss on the cheeks.
”Salamat mama, papa. Maraming salamat!” She told them and then stopped. “Sandale lang, anong conditions?” (Translation: Thank you mom, dad. Thank you so much! Wait a sec, what conditions?)
”Sweetie, it’s not much, just a few things.” Her father told her. “They’re just small things to keep you safe.”
”Just tell me please.” She told her parents, having completely forgotten about the Jonas family standing right next to them.
”Ok, well, first of all, if you have any problems, you can always call home and if you ever want to go home, that’s fine too. When going out, I don’t want you to go out alone. There are a lot of crazy and psychotic people out there. Anyways, if you are going to go out, always go with one of the boys. Mr. Jonas actually suggested that one.” Her father explained.
”Yes, we don’t want our newest member to get hurt on this trip. So boys, be good to her when she needs to go out, one of you go with her.” Mr. Jonas told his sons.
They just nodded their heads and then Dylan’s mother cleared her throat.
”There are just a few more things to say before we go.” Dylan’s mother told the group. “For the sleeping arrangements, now we know none of you will try anything. You’re all mature children. We, as in your father and I, were allowing you to share rooms with the boys. We don’t want to hassle them by having to rent out an extra room each time you go to a hotel, so this was the next best thing. Sa bahay na tayo mag uusap para sa pera.” Her mother told her. (Translation: Well talk about the money at home.)
Dylan agreed to their terms and gave her parents a hug in thanks. They handed her a few sheets of paper and a pen. She signed the papers that she needed to sign and said their goodbyes to the Jonas’. As they left, Dylan realized that she left her bag behind. She told her parents and ran back to the lobby of the hotel. She was about to go to the dining area when she crashed into someone as she turned. Both of them fell to the floor with a small thud. She rubbed her lower back a little before she looked at the person she crashed into. When she looked at the person, she noticed that the person happened to be Joe with her purse in his hands.
”Joe! Oh my gosh! Are you alright? I’m so sorry.” She told him, moving towards him to see if he was alright or not.
”Yeah, I’m fine. The floor broke my fall.” He joked with a grin on his face. “Here, you left this.”
He stood up and held out his hand to her. She thankfully took it and he pulled her up. He handed her her bag and she took it from his hand and thanked him. She looked down and noticed that they were still holding hands from when he helped her up. He noticed this too and quickly pulled his hand away, a blush creeping up both their faces.
”Um, so are you ok?” He asked her, not looking her in the eyes, the blush still on his cheeks.
”Ah, yeah, I’m fine thanks.” She told him, not looking at him either. “Um, I should go. My parents might be wondering where I’ve gone.”
”Yeah, sure. See you later.” He said.
”Yeah, later.” She said to him, heading out the door of the hotel.
She turned and then waved at him with a smile on her face. He waved back and she ran out of the hotel to where her family was. She got into the car, put her seatbelt on and her dad left the parking lot of the hotel.
>>FF Angeles Home>>
Dylan and her family got home and she walked into their home, her family following right after her. Reggie went up to her room and Dylan and her parents talked about her money. Once they were all done and everything was set, Dylan ran upstairs to her own room and started packing her bags. As she set her clothes down on the bed, she heard her cell phones messaging ring tone go off. She put the clothes she was holding down and walked over to her bag. She took her cell phone out and looked at the sender. She seemed confused when she saw the sender’s name. The text read:
From: Rapp3r Jo3 XP
Yo yo yo! This is yo man Rapp3r Jo3 XP!
Hit me up on MSN! My SN is CrazyJoe87@ hotmail.com. We should talk some time baby gurl!
Peace, Rapp3r Jo3 XP
(AN: That SN is not real! I just made that up! And I know not many people use MSN, but I do and I like the features there. That and I didnt really want to use AIM since everyone always uses it in these stories! I wanted to be a little different at least! LoL XD)
She grinned reading the text message one more time and then turned on her computer. Once fully on, she logged onto her MSN. She quickly added Rapp3r Jo3 XP and saw him online. She clicked on his name and sent him a message.
(AN: Again, the emails and SNs are all fake! And Dylans SN has nothing to do with the anime DNAngel. It actually means, D=Dylan, N=And, A=Angel (after her last name since Angeles is Spanish for Angel).)
D-N-Angel: Joe, how did you get my cell number? Btw, its Dylan!
CrazyJoe87: How’d you know it was me?
D-N-Angel: All your info that you sent me kept saying Joe. But you didn’t answer me. How did you get my number?
CrazyJoe87: Oh um, well, you see, um, when you left your bag earlier, we didn’t know who’s it was, so I, uh, I checked to see if there was an ID inside. Then I saw your cell phone and, I’m sorry. When I found it, I just couldn’t help myself!!!
D-N-Angel: It’s alright. Don’t freak out! So, what’s up?
CrazyJoe87: Hmm…let me see. What’s up? Duh! THE SKY!!
D-N-Angel: LoL…funny, real funny Joe. But seriously, anything new?
CrazyJoe87: Nothing really…oh! Wait, do you want to go to the movies with me and my brothers tomorrow?
D-N-Angel: Sure, why not.
CrazyJoe87: Ok, great! Well, I g2g.
D-N-Angel: Yeah, same here. Gotta finish packing. Night Joe!
CrazyJoe87: Night Dylan! ^_~
When Dylan saw the box saying that Joe logged out, she closed the screen and smiled to herself. She put her status to Busy and went back to packing her bags. She put her clothes in the two duffel bags she took out and changed into her PJs, then went to bed.
