Grace looked from Hope to Faith. "What shall we do first?" she asked
"Let's pack, that ALWAYS takes the longest," replied Faith
"For you!" replied Hope. "You take forever! And you pack so much stuff! even for a sleepover, you have 2 duffel bags!"
"Well, I don't like my clothes all wrinkly and squished," retorted Faith, crossing her arms over her chest
"They wouldn't get wrinkly and squished if you packed what you need and an extra set of clothes, just in case-" said Grace, calmly until Hope broke in.
"Not five!" Hope said rudely
"Hey! Hope? Calm down, alright?" said Grace, standing up. "This is NOT a subject that is worth arguing over. Since we're at Hope's house, she'll go pack first. Then we'll go to your house, Faith. Then we'll go to my house. Okay?"
Faith and Hope nodded. Grace walked into Hope's room with Faith and Hope bickering behind her. "Shush up, already! It's done! Over! Finito (sp?)! Now Hope, Faith and I are gonna help you pack. AND help you pick out an outfit that will make Joe drool like a dog seeing a piece of steak...not that you're a piece of meat or anything..."
Hope laughed. "Let's hope not! Okay girls, you know where my closet is. Pick out that outfit while I pack the necessities."
Hope went to her dresser and started pulling out shirts, jeans, and undergarments. Grace and Faith started ripping through her closet, throwing all her nice clothes onto the couch. Hope watched them and shook her head as she walked out of the room.
Grace and Faith were putting together and pulling apart different outfits that Hope had in her closet. "Now, it has to be somewhat casual," Faith said. " 'Cause, you know, it is a concert."
"But it has to also be somewhat dressy, 'cause they all like girls that dress up a bit," added Grace tossing a pair of black slacks out of the way.
"Oo! It also has to be original. Joe LOVES girls that have their own style," said Faith, pulling out Hope's bright red heels that she kept in the box.
As Grace and Faith worked diligently on Hope's outfit, Hope was putting her shampoo, conditioner, straightener, body wash, shaving gel, and razor into a plastic bag. She set the bag on the counter and looked in the mirror. "Could Joe Jonas really fall for me?" she asked herself. She looked at the make-up she always wore: green eye shadow, black eye liner, black mascara, and glitter that she put over the eye shadow. "Should I take all that?" she asked herself again.
She walked back to her room, opened the door, but Grace quickly shut and locked the door again. "What the heck?!" Hope shouted. "Let me into my room!" She banged on the door with her fist.
"Not until we're done!" shouted Faith through the door
"Well, I need to ask you guys something," Hope replied
"Go ahead," Grace said
"Should I take the make-up I usually wear with us?" she asked
Grace and Faith muttered a little bit. "Don't worry about make-up," replied Grace
"Yeah, we'll take care of that," added Faith
"Okay. Are you guys done yet?" asked Hope like a little kid
"In a second!" replied Grace. "Go do something else for a little bit."
"We'll come out when we're done," said Faith
Hope sighed and walked into the kitchen, poured herself a glass of milk, picked up the latest copy of People magazine, and flipped through it.
"There! That's perfect!" said Grace, zipping up the garment bag (me~yes, they are so spiffy that they have a garment bag just lying around). "Who should hold on to it?"
"Uh, why don't you. I'll probably end up holding yours," replied Faith
"Oh geez, don't remind me! I'm scared to think of what you guys do to me," said Grace, unlocking the door and walking out.
Hope looked up as Faith and Grace. She saw the garment bag in Grace's arms. "You're not gonna let me see it, are you?" she asked, standing up
"Not until concert day!" said Faith, patting the bag.
"Fine. Is my room back together?" Hope asked, walking down the hallway.
"Of course! What do you think we are? Animals?" said Faith, walking behind Hope
Hope opened her door and sure enough, Grace and Faith put everything back in her closet. Well, everything except what was in that bag. Grace rushed passed Faith and Hope to the closet, closed the door, and sat down in front of it. "No peeking at what you're missing!" she said
"How am I going to get shoes?" Hope asked
"Just tell me which shoes you need and I'll get them," Grace replied with a smile.
"Ugh, fine! Get me my tennis shoes, my yellow flip-flops, and my silver ballet flats," said Hope
Grace opened the closet carefully and pulled out the shoes. She threw them on Hope's bed. "There you go!" she said
"Thanks," replied Hope, trudging over to her bed. She got out her big, pink suitcase and plopped it on her bed. She put the shoes on the bottom, then the bag of stuff from the bathroom, then her clothes, then another small bag with all her hair stuff [scrunchies, clips, etc.]. She zipped it up, set it down on the floor, and grabbed her purse. In that she put her cell, wallet, and hand lotion. She grabbed her house keys off the dresser and said "Shall we?" and walked out of the room, rolling her suitcase behind her.
Grace and Faith followed her. "We shall!" they said together.
