Faith sighed contentedly as she lazy, yet gleefully, jumped out of her bed. She smiled, replaying the previous night's events over in her head. Walking into the bathroom, she gripped the day's clothes in her hands. She showered quickly and dressed just as fast. She walked back into her bedroom while running a brush through her long, brunette locks. She applied a small amount of eyeliner and a thin gloss of grapefruit lip gloss.
Her phone began to ring and she focused her attention to it. She picked it up, and in a sugary voice she greeted the caller. "Hello, Faith speaking".
"Oh hey, Faith. Just the person I was meaning to call" a male voice sounded.
"Um, who is this?" she questioned.
"Its Ryan" she smiled at his name.
"Oh hey there" she grinned
"I was wondering if you'd like to come chill with the guys and me sometime today?" he asked.
"Oh I have to work from eleven to four, but I'm free any time after that" she said, noticing the clock read 10:20am.
"Oh, well, we have practice from one to four, so maybe we could meet up at Teddy's Pizza after, around 4:30?" he asked.
"Yeah, sure" She answered, smiling with excitement.
"Cool, I guess I'll see you later" he said, before hanging up.
Faith stood with the phone still to her ear, grinning like a maniac. She didn't care that the other guys would be there, but she did care that Ryan would be there and she was flooded with excitement, joy, happiness. Faith twirled around, making herself dizzy, walked it off, and grabbed her purse and work shirt before heading downstairs. She left the house quickly, got in her car, and drove a short while before reaching the outskirts of Las Vegas-where the location of her workplace sat. She parallel parked on the side, locked her car and went inside the small record store which she worked at.
She walked inside and into the back, where she quickly threw on her work shirt. It was simple, black with random neon blue splatters, the name of the store "Sapphire Lightwaves". The store itself was filled with music of every genre-rock, alternative of every kind, country, rap, hip hop, and more. Faith loved the store because she got to have one free CD every week, or 20% off of anything she purchases.
She headed out into the main area of the store, where everyone browses, where she met up with Cassie. They both started their job together, so neither would get lonely working by themselves or with someone they didn't really know.
"Hey" Faith greeted, poking Cassie on the shoulder. "What's up?"
"Hey, there. Nothing much" she grinned, "I tried calling you last night, but you weren't there Where'd you go?" she asked.
"Oh I went down to that teen club place Brendon and the guys were playing a gig I figured I'd go check them out" she told her.
"Ooh... But... I thought you hated Brendon?" she said, giving faith a confused look.
"Oh, well, he is a pest, but he's alright. He's not terrible..." She said.
"Oh , well... Were they good?" she asked.
"Yeah, they were amazing" Faith replied, grinning.
"Okay, something else happened, and you're holding out on me" Cassie grinned. "What happened?"
"Ryan asked me to dance and then some other stuff" Faith squealed, and jumped excitedly.
"ooh awesome. I didn't know you liked him" she said.
"I know. I didn't want to tell you You do have a big mouth, you know. You might 'accidentally' tell somebody" Faith informed Cassie.
"Yeah, whatever" Cassie grunted before going into the back room and grabbing a new shipment of CDs. Faith walked around, checking to make sure that most, if not all, CDs were in their proper place.
The place was deserted, which is unusual for weekends. The place is usually crowded and chaotic. Today there is silence, only Cassie and Faith in the spacious store, quietly working.
The five hours went by quickly, small amounts of chatter was exchanged between the girls, and a few customers here and there.
At four o'clock, Faith said goodbye to Cassie, informing her that she was going to chill with 'the guys'. "Do you want to come? You can if you want" Faith asked. Somehow Cassie's grumpiness had departed and she was friendly again.
"Ah, no thanks. I'm supposed to be hanging out with mike tonight" she grinned, before heading back to work. Faith shrugged before heading to her car and driving to Teddy's Pizza. She smiled, turning the radio on to hear Shimmy Shimmy Quarter Turn by Hellogoodbye to come on. She moved her head to the beat and tapped her fingers on the steering wheel as she anxiously neared the restaurant.
She pulled into the small parking lot, locked her car and walked inside. She frowned when she got inside; Ryan and the guys weren't there yet. The waitress asked how many people were coming. Quickly counting the number of guys in the band, she replied, "five". The woman walked her over to a table, and Faith sat down.
"Would you like a drink?" she asked.
"No thank you, I'll wait until they get here" Faith told her.
Faith sat at the table for what seemed like hours, only because she was an anxious child. The ringing of bells sounded, as Faith turned to see four guys walk into the restaurant. Faith grinned as she saw Ryan walk in, and the guys walked over to the table.
