Love Is A Crazy Ride [Jonas Brothers Love Story] (Chapter six)
Grace sat at the window seat. She loved to look out at the minature world below her. Faith was in the middle, reading her Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince book. Hope was in the aisle seat, biting her nails.
"Are you okay, Hope?" Grace asked
"Uh, yeah. Just a little thirsty, that's all," Hope replied
"We did bring drinks, Hope. Remember?" said Grace. "It's in the cooler in the compartment above us."
"Right, right," said Hope. She unbuckled her seatbelt and opened the compartment. She took out the cooler and pulled out a Dr. Pepper. She, then, took her seat again.
"Is that Hope Richardson?" came a voice a few rows back.
Hope shuttered at the voice and turned around. Sure enough, there she was. The girl who has made her life a living Hades was sitting 5 rows behind them. "Hey Joy," Hope said reluctantly
Joy unbuckled and walked to where they were sitting. She gasped at the sight of Grace. "Ah! Grace!" she squealed
Grace looked from the window. "AH! Joy!" she squealed back. Grace unbuckled and stood up, practically tripping over Faith and Hope to give Joy a huge hug. Faith barely noticed, she was too enthralled in her book. Hope, on the other hand, did notice.
'Look at Joy,' she thought to herself. 'Pretending to be all goody-goody for Grace's sake. She's such a fake.'
"How are you, Joy?" Grace asked with a smile
"Absolutely fabulous, Grace. Absolutely fabulous," Joy replied
"So what's been goin' on with you in the past two years?" Grace asked, making Faith and Hope scoot down a seat.
"Uh, you know. Here and there a boyfriend..." Hope scoffed at that comment. Grace shot her a look, but Joy acted like nothing happened. "...And you know, the usual school stress."
"That's good, that's good. Any special someone's at the moment?" Grace asked
"Nope, I'm single. Plus, since Joe IS gonna ask me out, I wouldn't dream of turning him down because I already have a boyfriend," said Joy in a sure tone
'I can't believe her!' Hope thought to herself. 'She really thinks that Joe Jonas is gonna ask her out. What a pathetic airhead!'
"So what's new with you?" Joy asked
"Uh, nothing much. College, work, etc.," Grace replied
"Where do you work?" asked Joy
"Starbucks," Grace replied
Joy's eyes went wide-eyed. "Really!!!?? Oh my God, I love it there!! You HAVE to get me a discount!"
Grace laughed. "Sure thing. Just make sure I'm on that shift," she said
"Will do, will do," said Joy. "Well, I gotta get back to my seat, but I'll see you later!"
"Okay! See ya," said Grace. Grace looked at Hope, who was staring at her. "What?"
"Can't you see through her?" asked Hope in a hushed tone
"No, I can't! She's acting just like the Joy I knew two years ago," Grace replied in the same hushed tone
"She seems nice," Faith piped in, but not looking up from her book
"You see?! That's all an act! She's really just a no-good, lying slut!" said Hope, almost whispering but having a lot of intensity
"How can you say that?!" said Grace. "I've had enough. I'll be right back."
Grace stood up and walked to the bathroom.
*Grace POV*
"I've had enough. I'll be right back," I said and walked to the bathroom. I locked the door. 'Dang, these bathrooms are small!'
I didn't bring my razor with me, that was in my suitcase. I looked around, trying to find something sharp. I then spotted the corner of the sink. Not sharp, but nearby there was a jagged edge.
I rolled up my sleeves, took off my bracelets & bandages, and leaned my wrist into the jagged edge.
Suddenly the plane hit a bump of turbulance and I lost my balance. Instead of my wrist being cut, I scraped my head on the edge. I got back to my feet and looked in the tiny mirror. A small trickle of blood was rolling down from just above my temple. "Crap!" I said. I unlocked the door and went to a flight attendent.
"Excuse me. Do you have a first aid kit?" I asked politely, pointing to my head
"Oh dear! Yes, hon, follow me," said the attendent. She led me into the kitchen-type area. She had me sit down on the little chair that was attached to the wall as she got the kit.
She handed me an alcohol wipe. I then wiped the blood from my temple, feeling the sting of the alcohol on the open wound. Then I heard the attendent gasp.
"Is something wrong?" I asked, taking the bandage she was holding out
She was staring at me...No, she was staring at my wrist! Crap! I quickly rolled down my sleeves and put the bandage on.
I stood up, walked over to her, and said "I would really appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about what you saw. Please?" I tried to sound desparate.
She saw the desperation in my eyes and heard it in my voice. She then nodded slowly.
"Thank you. For everything," I said.
I walked back to the bathrom, grabbed my bracelets, and quickly put them on. I walked back to my seat.
*Third person*
Grace came back from the bathroom and took her seat.
"What happened to your head?" asked Hope, forgetting about what had happened earlier
"When the plane hit that bit of turbulance, I banged my head again a jagged edge," Grace explained
"Mm, okay," Hope said
After a beverage and the complimentary peanuts, all three of the girls fell asleep...
