AUDREY'S POV

-~-*-~-

At 4, the doorbell rang.

When I answered it, the man seemed to be older than I expected. He had graying hair, but a giant bald spot, and was wearing what looked like a custom suit. Richness. He held out his hand.

"Hello, you must be Audrey. My name is Phil Gemson. You can just call me Phil. I am glad to meet you. Do you need help moving your stuff?"

"Yeah, sure."

I lead the way upstairs. I went into my room and picked up my box of CDs. I am an insane music lover. I will listen to anything except certain stuff like heavy metal and rap. Mr. Gemson picked up my suitcase that had all my clothes in it.

"Be careful," I said. "That has my CD player in it." There wasn't anywhere else to pack it so I had just threw it in the suitcase. It worked. I grabbed my bookbag, which had everything else of mine - hairbrush, pictures, my sketchpads, and other random things, and started downstairs.

"Wouldn't you like to say goodbye to your parents?"

Well, he obviously knows nothing about me. Time to fill him in.

"My father left when I was seven. My mother is currently on a plane to France for business," I said.

I watched his face while I told him, and he did nothing but raise his eyebrows. He didn't say anything, and his face gave nothing away. I could tell already that I could like him...with time. I opened the front door while he started to talk.

"Okay. The limo will take us to the airport, which takes about 20 minutes. Then we will head on to the helicopter to California. After that it is just a short ride to the house. Okay?"

"Yeah." Limo? Helicopter? They really are rich.

All the way to my new house, I drew. But once I saw the house - well actually, mansion, I was kinda distracted. The mansion was huge.

As I walked inside the mansion, I was a little shocked at how nice it was. It wasn't like how most rich houses felt. They all felt like museums, but this actually felt like a home. My mom had money, but it was nothing like this. I heard footprints, and then I saw the man whom I was to marry.

"Hi. I am Damien. Welcome to my...um our home." He had a very business-like air around him. He stuck out his hand, and I shook it. He had a firm grip too.

"Audrey."

"Okay, so I am going to leave you two. The servants will bring your bags to your room, Audrey," he looked at Damien with a stern look, then continued.

"Damien will help you unpack, and then you two are going to go to the mall to get you some new clothes. You will need at least three dresses for now, Damien can tell you what kind. Have fun, kids."

With that said, he went upstairs.
