Love Is A Crazy Ride [Jonas Brothers Love Story] (Chapter eight)
They got off the plane and retrived their luggage. When they stepped out of the airport, they were greeted with taxi cabs honking, people whislting for taxi's, smoke from passing by buses, and the bright lights of New York City. It was midnight, and still the streets were packed.
"Should we get to the hotel?" asked Grace
Faith yawned and Hope was leaning on her luggage to stay upright.
"I'll take that as a 'yes'," Grace said. She went up to the street, whistled and a cab instantly stopped. "Wow, just like in the movies!"
They put their luggage in the trunk and climbed in the backseat. "Where to, girls?" asked the driver
"The Benjamin hotel," Grace said
"You got it," the driver said, and he did the flagdrop and drove off.
In a matter of minutes, they were at the 4-star Benjamin hotel. Grace, Hope, and Faith split the cost of the ride and went inside. They went up to the front desk. No line, it was midnight.
"Good evening, ladies," said the lady at the front desk. "Do you have a reservation?"
"Yes, we do," said Grace
"Name please," she said
"Rollins," Grace replied
"Ah, yes. Room 432. Right through that archway," she pointed behind the girls, "is an elevator. Take it to the fourth floor and turn left. Your room is near the middle of that hallway. Jeffery!"
Suddenly, a man came running up. "Yes, ma'am?" he said
"Take these ladies bags up to their suite, please," the lady said
"Yes ma'am. What suite?"
"Room 432."
"Okay," Jeffery said. He got a luggage cart and put the girls' bags on it. He rolled the cart to the elevator and the girls followed.
Once in the elevator, Grace, Hope, and Faith were freaking out.
"I can't believe we're here!" exclaimed Faith
"I know! It's like a dream come true!" added Hope
"Totally!" said Grace
"So, what bring you girls to New York?" Jeffery asked, in a semi-monotone voice
"We're here to see the Jonas Brothers!!!" Faith practically yelled
"Who?" asked Jeffery
All three girls gasped. "You don't know who the Jonas Brothers are?!" asked Hope
"Sorry, no. My life is basically contained in this hotel and my home. Anything that happens around that, I know nothing about," Jeffery explained
"Aww!!" all three girls said in unison. "Do you have a family?" asked Grace, but kinda regreted it
"Oh, yeah. I have a wife of 25 years and 2 children: a boy and a girl. My boy is 17 years old, and my girl is 13 years old," replied Jeffery
"Does your daugh--" Hope was cut off by the doors openning.
Jeffery rolled the cart to room 432 and openned the door. He led the girls in, unpacked the cart, and left.
Grace looked at the bed: queen size. She looked at Hope & Faith and knew they were thinking the same thing. "Coin toss?" she asked
Hope and Faith nodded. "Coin toss," they agreed
Grace took out a penny from her purse. "Usual rules?" she asked
"Of course!" said Faith
"Call it in the air *ting!*," Grace said, flipping the coin
"Heads!!" yelled Hope, beating Faith to it
Grace caught the coin in her hand and turned it upside onto the back of her other hand. "Tails," she said
"Yes!!!" said Hope, punching her fist in the air
See, the way they played it was you had to guess the opposite of the coin. If you guessed right, it guarentees (sp?) your place or whatever they flip for. Then the other two people go head-to-head. The object of that game is to guess the actual showing of the coin. I know, it's strange. But hey, these girls are strange.
Grace tossed Hope the coin. Hope flipped it.
"Tails!" yelled Faith
Hope caught it and flipped it over onto the back of her oppisite hand. "Heads," she said
"That settles it!" said Grace. "Hope and I get the bed. Faith, you get the couch."
"That's okay," Faith replied, walking out of the bedroom into the small living room and plopping down on the couch.
Grace went into the bathroom and took a quick shower. She put on her pajama's and walked out. Hope was unpacking her suitcase into the dresser.
"Are you hungry?" asked Grace
"Kinda. Do they have room service this late?" Hope replied
"I think," Grace said, and dialed the front desk
RIIING RIIING RIIING "Hello, Benjamin Hotel," a lady said
"Hi, is your room service open this late?" Grace asked
"Yes, ma'am. But we have limited items. You will need to call room service to know what they are," the lady replied
"Thank you," Grace said, hung up, and called room service
"Yo! What can I serve you?" said a male voice, maybe 20-ish
"Uh, hi. I was just wondering what you have down there, this late at night," Grace said
"Well, little lady, we have soft drinks galore, New England Clam Chowder, the Chicken basket, and wine," the guy replied
"Mm, I would like 2 New England Clam Chowders and 2 Sprites, please," Grace said
"Okey-dokey. Room number?" the guy asked
"432," replied Grace
"Okay, and name?" the guy asked again
"Grace," she replied, wondering why he needed her name
"Wow, Grace," he said, as if it was the first time he heard that name.
"Yeah, and my boyfriend's name is Taylor," Grace quickly said, "Taylor" being the first name to pop in her head. She didn't want to give this creepy guy any impressions.
"Oh..uh, okay. Your food will be right up," he said quickly and hung up.
Grace laughed and hung up the phone. Fifteen minutes later, the food was there and Grace & Hope had a 1 am dinner. Faith was passed out on the couch. When they were done eating, they covered Faith up, turned off the light, and went to bed.
Tomorrow (or rather, later today...), they would explore New York...
