Part 3:Traveling
After some time, Alessandra woke J'Ghasta for the second time that night, the vampire inside her pleased. She stood, stratched and picked her armor off of the floor where it had been tossed before. With everything in place, she lightly smacked J'Ghasta on the back of the head. He opened his eyes and she scolded him for sleeping so much, he always did. He grumbled,
"Leaving now?"
"Yes, let's go lazy cat."
He smiled and rose slowly, as Alessandra handed him his light armor and cloak from the drawer. He dressed and together they exited Olav's silently. They didn't want to wake anyone and have to explain their abrupt departure.
The air was cold and the night had just begun as they bridled their horses and left Bruma. The pair's appearance alone would be sufficient to frighten away any potential road bandits and other creatures of the night. Both were dressed in dark attire with weapons in view. The khajiit's beast horse was threatening enough to unsettle anyone who had never seen anything like it before.
They traveled south down the Silver Road at first, then left the road for a more direct route to Cheydinhal.
They traveled in silence, both of them used to it because it was better to watch the surroundings then talk about nonsense. They were a practical pair; the khajiit's ear listened for trouble and Alessandra's night sight was an asset considering the moon wasn't full and they did not use torches.
They traveled on like this through the Heartlands only passing by a few caves and a shrine later on in the morning. They had no trouble but were forced to stop around eleven in the afternoon; the sun's rays were becoming stronger, affecting Alessandra. The had covered a fair distance though and could even see Cheydinhal in the far distance. The two let their horses free next to a small stream and went about building up the tent the khajiit had brought along. The elf curled up insid ethe tent with the tired khajiit and slept, protected by the sun's scalding light.
The dark elf woke a few hours later when J'Ghasta was prodding her with venisen, prompting her to eat. "It'll do you good, Aless" he said and she accepted it hungrily. As she ate she started to feel the strtong glare of the sun even through the tent and fell asleep again, J'Ghasta covered her with a blanket to block out the sun better.
She awoke again when evening had begun. Feeling the need to feed, Alessandra crept out of the tent and scanned the area. There was an encampment close to a quarter mile away. Alessandra considered J'Ghasta who was now down by the stream, but decided against it: she needed him completely well to travel, they were not too far off from their destination.
She quickly ran through the trees anticipating the taste of fresh blood, feeling the violence she so desired. Weaving through the trees, she was at the camp in a few minutes.
