Chapter Selector

Author's Note: Hey hey hey! Okay, so my friend lyndsey called me from the Jonas Brothers concert in Portland last night, and it was absolutely AMAZING! They totally played all my favorite songs! Anyways, enough about my love of Jonas (there's never enough!) it's time for chapter eighteen! How will this fight end up? Keep reading to see :]

    Chapter Eighteen
    Belle's P.O.V.

After Marissa left to go downstairs for dinner, I thought about the conversation I heard going on below. I know Marissa didn't hear it because she wasn't paying attention to anything other than me.
Nick and Corey were going to fight tonight just to get my sister? They act as if she's just some trophy to win, and they're the last two contestants in the game competing for the big prize.
Boys can just be idiots sometimes.
Well, what they don't know is they'll have a little visitor...

    11:46 PM

I was now sitting by the lake where they said they would meet, just staring at the reflection of the clouds in the lake. It looked as if it would rain at any moment, but I didn't care. I wasn't going to let them fight over my sister, literally.
I heard something crack, so I looked up and I saw Nick walking over. I looked at my watch. Only 11:46. He's early. I went back to looking at the lake. He seemed to notice the clouds because every few seconds, he'd look up as if expecting it to rain.
About ten minutes had passed when Corey showed up. They walked up to each other.
"So Yevon, ready to lose the girl you love?" Corey looked like he was about to punch him.
"It's not me who should be worrying about that, Jonas." I stood up.
"Actually, it's neither of you who should be worrying." Their eyes went wide.
"Marissa?!" I was confused. They think I'm Marissa? It must be because it's dark. Oh well, I could play this to my advantage.
"Yeah, it's me. And I don't want you two fighting over me, that's just an idiotic thing to do." They looked at each other, then back at me.
"I'm sorry Mar, this is something we've got to do. Besides, I have to prove Jonas here that he fights like a girl." Nick looked at him.
"Oh, that's how you wanna play it, huh?" Nick lunged and tackled Corey to the ground. They started rolling around in the dirt, throwing punches, and trying to hurt each other as much as they could. I sat there screaming at them to stop, then thought for a moment. Marissa would be trying to break them up,and then she'd just walk off shaking her head in disappointment. Me, on the other hand, would actually get in the fight, show them girls don't actually fight like sissys, then walk off saying a very colorful array of words.
    Which sounds more fun?
    You guessed it.
"You two are such freakin IDIOTS!" I ran over to them, pulled them apart, and punched them each square in the chest. They both fell to the ground.
"Belle! You said you were Marissa!" Corey said, now having a bloody nose and a black eye while Nick appeared not to be hurt at all, except he was holding his arm where blood  was seeping through his fingers.
"Actually, no, you said I was Marissa. But right now, I'm being me so I can explain the oh so complex mind of Marissa." They were quiet.
"Do you honestly think she'd like either of you if she found out you were doing this to get her to like you more? No, in fact, she would think you're both total jerks for treating her like she's just some trophy to win, and would most likely not speak to either of you for a very long time." They looked down.
"You're right...it's not up to us who she likes, it's up to her." Nick had finally said something. Corey nodded.
"Now stand up, shake hands, and you're going to have to shake with your left hand since Nick's right hand is now covered in blood. Unless, of course, Corey, you don't mind having Nick's blood all over your hand." Corey held out his left hand, Nick shook his hand.
"Now, if I hear you two ever talking about fighting over something as stupid as this, you'd better learn to sleep with your eyes open. But for now...what's your excuse for being hurt?" Nick already had his.
"I'll just say I went to go use the bathroom, tripped, and cut myself on a nail.
"Okay, that works for you, but what about black eye over here? His nose we can clean up." Corey thought for a moment about what his excuse could be.
"I fell of the bed, and landed on the baseball next to my bed?" I laughed.
"That would be good, but you don't have a baseball next to your bed."
"No, I do, I took yours earlier and was tossing it and catching it in my room." He must have seen I looked like I was about to hit him again because he backed up a few paces.
"Okay, we'll worry about you taking my baseball later. Right now, we need to get back to the house and get all the blood off you two."
We walked back to the house in silence, thinking the whole time of what would have happened if Marissa found out about this.
