Time seemed to be flying since you had seen Dan. It had been two months. One month from the night where he told you he didn't know whether you were going to make it. You had sent him your responce, and had recieved nothing back. It had broken your heart. But it hadn't stopped you from thinking of different reasons as to why he hadn't responded.Your life felt completley different than it was before you left for London. A lot of things had changed, but you knew that you still loved Dan and that hadn't changed. You just wished he knew it. It was a Friday afternoon you sat at your dining room table finishing up some Chemistry homework when your phone started ringing "Miss you Love" by Maria Mena,you picked it up and saw that Rupert was calling you.
"Hello?"
"Hey Ness!"
"Rupert, how are you? Its been a long time."
"Yeah it has, I'm good but really tired,how are you?"
"I'm good, where are you, its loud there."
"Oh sorry, I'm on a break at the set."
"Oh really, hows that going?" you asked.
"Its been really good, but what I wanted to talk to you about is if you know if anything is going on with Dan he's been acting a bit odd."
At this point you told Rupert everything that had gone on a month ago.
"...and I haven't talked to him since." you finished.
" That would explain it, why haven't you talked to him?"
" He hasn't made the effort to respond to me."
"Why do you think that is?" he asked.
"I think he's angry at me. I think the long distance is too much for him."
"You think he wants to break up?"
I hope not..."
The conversation ended and Rupert promised you that he would try to talk to Dan and he would get back to you. You realized that this wasn't only affecting you. You had worried that you were reading too much into it. But Rupert had confirmed that Dan too was suffering.You just wished he would talk to you.
The second ring of your phone interrupted your thoughts....It couldn't be Rupert again...not so soon. You looked at your phone which was lit up and said,"Adam Calling"
"Hello?"you answered.
"Hi, um Vanessa, its Adam, do you remember me?"he asked.
"Of course I do Adam, we went out to eat at Panera, I know who you are."
"Oh good, well in that case, wanna do something tonight?"
"Sure what do you have in mind?"
"Oh I dunno, what kinda of mood are you in, do you wanna go out or stay in?"he asked.
"Stay in, how bout you come over in like an hour and we'll have pizza and watch movies?"
"That sounds excellent."
Don't get dressed up, I'm going for the couch potato look."you said laughing and then gave him your address and such.
An hour later you were grabbing sodas from the fridge and getting random snacks from your cabinet when you heard the doorbell ring.You walked to the door and opened it up to Adam standing there with a smile on his face. He was wearing a navy blue American Eagle sweatshirt or a plain white t-shirt, and gray Abercrombie and Fitch sweatpants.You led him into the kitchen to get food.
"So how have you been?"Adam asked you filling his plate.
"I've been alright. Things are changing so fast."you sighed.
"Oh yeah? Like what?"he asked sitting down next to you on the couch.
"I've made new friends. Dance takes over my life. I'm drifting away from my boyfriend. I barely get to see my old friends. School is hectic, and all that."you said.
"Busy girl, whats going on with you and your boyfriend?"he asked sounding genuinely concerned.
"I dunno, its a weird situation." You began to explain to him what had happened.
"He's probably stressed because he's filming and he misses you and needs your support but he can't get that cause you're on a different continent." Adam said.
"Don't worry he will come to his senses. If he doesn't, he is loosing something really really special."he finished.
You just looked at Adam for a minute before reaching over and hugging him.
"I think that was one of the sweetest things anyones ever said to me."you nuzzeled into his shoulder.
"The sweetest person deserves sweet things."he said.
You leaned against Adam and he put his arm around you as you ate and watched the movie with scattered conversations throughout.
A couple hours later and Adam had to leave. You were sorry he had to leave because you had had a really good time with him. You hugged him and watched him get into his car, honk twice, and drive away. You shut the door, and walked back into your family room to clean up all the trash from the food you had ate. Once that was all cleaned up, you shut all the lights off. Your Aunt was not home yet. You knew she would be home in like an hour. You walked up to your bedroom as you were quite tired. You turned on your light and walked over to your bed. You sat down and thought for a moment. You looked down at your phone and saw that it was lit up which meant a couple of things. You opened your phone and saw that you had a text message from Jess. It read:
-"Ness me and Jules miss you, lets do something."
You decided agaisnt texting him back, you'd just call him tomorrow.
The next text was from Adam.It read:
"I had so much fun with you, lets do it again soon."
Your heart fluttered when you saw his name. That surprised you. It was an odd feeling. It confused you that you felt that way. You shouldn't feel that way when you had Dan, or well...you had felt that way when you had really had him...it could turn out you don't have him anymore...you didn't want to think about that so you tucked it in the back of your mind for now.
You looked back at your phone which also told you, you had 2 missed calls one from Rupert, the other from...
Dan.
