The train chugged along the track slowly as I watched the neat hills and forests whiz past. My head vibrated softly as I leant against the window, my headphones on and tuning out of the world and the annoying stares I was getting from the old ladies and men.
I began to doze off when the ticket man came around and woke me up rudely.
"OI." I heard a voice shout, I jumped up hitting my head on the low luggage holders that were above my head.
"What?" I snapped annoyed.
"Ticket." He replied. I sighed and reached into my pocket and pulled out a rather tattered ticket. He straightened it out before punching a hole in it. Then threw it back to me and moved on. I picked up the ticket that had fluttered to the ground and shoved it back into my pocket.
Then taking up my previous position and tried to get to sleep. I was so close to falling asleep this time when the buzzer came on.
"We will be arriving in Brighton in five minutes. That is the last stop for the train, may all passengers get off there." And with a slight buzz it was gone and the compartment fell quiet again.
I didnt bother trying to get to sleep now, it was pointless, instead I got my luggage down from the storage and made my way to the train door. I waited there for a minute or two before the train slowed down and lurched to a stop.
I got off the train heaving my luggage behind me, holding up many annoyed passengers. I just glared back at them when they tried to scold me with there eyes.
I looked around the station looking for my dad, eventually I saw him, he was staring intently down at his blackberry, not looking up so he didnt notice me until I was right next to him.
"Oh hello Lily, I didnt see you there." He said looking up at me with a crinkled smiled.
"Dont worry about it." I said glumly.
"So how was your trip?" He asked as he picked up my second trunk and helped me carry it out of the train station.
"Uneventful." I replied.
"How was your mother?" He asked, with a strained voice.
"Cheerful."
"Why?" He asked turning around.
"Because I was going. Shes probably having a party right now." I said, walking behind him, carrying a very heavy bag.
"Your mum isnt like that Lily and you know it."
"You havent seen her let alone talked to her in ten years, shes changed."
"She still loves you though."
"If she did she wouldnt of married him." I said snarling at the mention of him even though I didnt say his name.
We piled the trunks into the back of a land rover, and he slammed the door shut, I climbed into the passengers seat and he went into the drivers seat.
"So..." I said into the silence as we drive down a seafront road.
"You'll be starting school tomorrow. Its about a twenty minute walk from the house, or a five minute drive."
"I dont mind walking." I stated.
"Are you sure? I can drive you, it wont be a problem."
"Nah I like walking." I sighed. We drove down another road, these houses were very nice and large, Ben, my dad, stopped outside a rather large one with a well kept garden.
"Welcome, to your new home." He said and got out of the car.
