Dreams Of You (A Kouga Love Story part 7)

Hi. Well I got it done. I want to thank everyone who sent me a message, wanting me to continue the story. It made me really happy ^^ But I have realized after writing this chapter that I can't write fight scenes. I tried. So please keep that in mind while you're reading. Thank you.

Did you read the memo?
Yes. (Me: Good you may continue)
No. (Me: Well then you can't send me hate mail, complain when you read the fight scene or throw stuff at me) *starts throwing stuff* (Me: *grabs Kouga* NO, Wait! *pulls Kouga aside and grabs Sasuke* OK! Bring it on! Thinking: DIE Sasuke *does happy dance*)
"Kouga, I want to see Kouga. I have to keep moving, have to see Kouga." you kept repeating these words to yourself as you continued your journey through the dark. "Kouga." mentioning his name seemed to bring some comfort. Walking through the darkness, once again you were starting to lose hope.

"Kouga...Kouga...KOUGA!" so frustrated with the darkness you fell to your knees, yelling his name. You could feel the burning of hot tears on your face, falling into the palms of your hands that you had brought to cover your face. It's hopeless, I can't go anymore. "Kouga, I'm sorry." "(Y/N), it's ok, I'm right here, don't cry." as you feel someone wrap their arms around you and pull you against them. You opened your eyes and looked up to be met by sky blue ones looking down at you, "Kouga?" you whispered into his chest. "I'm glad to see your awake." you heard him say as he tilted your chin upward to look at him. You stared up at him as he gave you a warm smile, the moonlight was shining in through a small window to your left, and you could see the shadows of the trees near by blowing in the wind. This really isn't a dream you thought as you felt kouga pull you closer to him. Your ear twitched as you turned your head away from the blinding light of the moon, making you aware of your other surroundings. You seemed to be in a hut of some kind, as your eyes continued to adjust, you could make out what seemed like people sleeping near you, with what looked to be the remains of a small fire, that was only embers now, as it tried to hold on to what life it still had.

You closed your eyes and listened to the rhythmic sound of Kouga's heart beat as he continued to hold you in his arms. "Kouga, where are we?" it was just above a whisper, your whole body ached and you felt your self growing sleepy but you just wanted to enjoy the warmth that Kouga was offering you. "It's an old priestess' hut. She's a friend of Kagome." he said as you felt his body shift a little. Feeling the shift in his movements you turned and looked at him, he was now looking out the small window, "After mutt-face" he said the name with a hint of anger, "pushed you into the well, I went in after you, you were unconscious. We brought you here, you were hurt pretty bad, your arm was broken and you were bleeding a lot from hitting your head during your fall." You looked down at the arm that wasn't pressed against Kouga, it has bandages all the way past the elbow, as you look at, you wiggle your fingers, "It doesn't feel broken", "That's because your a half demon, idiot" you heard a voice say from behind you, it was Inuyasha, he was standing in the doorway to the hut. "You heal faster then humans." "Hey shut-up MUTT-FACE!" Kouga yelled, waking everyone up. "What are you two fighting about now?" asked Kagome, who was still half asleep. "IT'S (Y/N), she's awake" shouted a very happy Shippo, as he pointed in your direction. By now, the suns glow was starting to show through the small hut, the sky was shades of pink and the song birds were beginning to welcome the coming dawn. You looked around at everyone, and then you saw the smirk on Miroku's face, as you shot him a confused look. The smirk only became more perverted, until Sango started beating him over the head. "What?" you asked as Shippo came running towards you and taking the blanket in his little hand, he motioned you lower so he could whisper something to you. "You should cover up." To your horror and embarrassment, you had no shirt on, just bandages covering your upper body. You quickly pried your good hand away from Kouga and grabbed the blanket from Shippo and covered yourself up. You could feel yourself turning red and out of the corner of your eye, you saw that Kouga was also blushing.

You were saved from your embarrassment by an older lady with gray hair and an eye patch over one eye. She entered through the door carrying a basket of some kind of plant. She ordered the men to leave the hut.

Outside the hut...

Miroku and Shippo had gone to fetch water to avoid the anger growing between the two male canines. Inuyasha laid stretched out on a branch of a tree, while Kouga sat on a patch of grass with his back up against the same tree. "So you've given up on Kagome now, right wolf?" Inuyasha said while looking down at Kouga from the corner of his eye. "What the hell are you talking about mutt, Kagome is my woman. Someday I will make her my wife and there's nothing you can do about it." Kouga yelled as the two now stood staring each other down. "Hmph, then what about (Y/N), you two were getting pretty cozy together when I came in." Inuyasha said as he turned his back on Kouga. "If you think I'm going to give up on her just because some she-wolf won't leave me alone you got another thing coming." as he now turned his back and crossed his arms, "(Y/N) means nothing to me...nothing at all" the last just loud enough for him to hear. Inuyasha walked over to Kouga and grabbed him by his armor, "You're such a stupid fool, Kagome doesn't want you, but (Y/N) she does. She cares for you and if you keep chasing after something that's not going to happen, you'll lose her too." He let go of Kouga's armor roughly making the wolf stumble back a bit. He walked off to find his other two companions leaving Kouga to his thoughts.

Back to you:

Once all the men left the small hut, the older lady set about changing your bandages. You learned her name was Kaede and she was the priestess of this village, which you already knew from Kouga. All the cuts and bruises you had sustained from your fall had all healed quite nicely. Your arm that you had hurt during your fall had also healed well. Once you were given the okay by Kaede, Kagome decided it would be a good time to just talk.

"So Kagome, Sango? What happened after I fell into the well?" "Oh (Y/N), I'm so sorry about that" Kagome said with tears running down her face, "I never would've thought you would get hurt. I thought it would work since we're from the same time." "Well it didn't help that Inuyasha pushed her in either." Sango said as she came to sit down beside you, with Kilala in her arms. "But Inuyasha feels really bad about it. He never would have done it if he knew you would get hurt." "Oh I know Kagome, don't worry. Plus I'm okay now." you said as you gave both girls a reassuring smile. "Oh that reminds me, I need to thank Kouga for helping me." you sighed and started to get up That was real smooth, I had the perfect chance to thank him before and I blew it. "Hey umm (Y/N), we both wanted to ask you about that." "About what?" both Kagome and Sango gave you a look and you knew you would be there awhile. You returned to your sitting position on the floor now facing the two girls. "Well we know that you are from Kagome's time and that Kouga was the one who found you near his den one day. You've been staying and traveling with him for a short time now." you nodded your head to Sango, "Well we want to know how you feel about him?" this made you blush. "Well I don't know how he feels about me," you began twiddling your fingers "but I really like him. I don't know how to explain it but when I'm near him I just feel safe and I never want to lose that feeling." Kagome began to giggle as she noticed your face become redder, "Well that's simple your in love with him." "Well I know that but please don't tell him but it's like I'm drawn to him." You then proceeded to tell them all about the dreams, the voice, and the wolf.

"Oh wow it's almost like you were meant to come here and find Kouga" Kagome yelled with joy. "It's all so sweet. When he jumped into the well and found you hurt he was so worried, Inuyasha wanted to carry you back here but Kouga wouldn't even let him near you."
Kind of don't blame him there "You were asleep for almost two weeks and during that whole time Kouga never left your side." "Really? That was really sweet of him." as you trailed off into thought. "Everyone was really worried. We didn't know why you didn't wake up. You kept saying Kouga's name." said Sango. So every time I thought I was saying his name to myself, I must have been saying it out loud. But, he stayed with me while I was asleep and he was there when I woke up too. I was never really alone in that dark place. Maybe Kouga does care. You turned to the now chatting girls and told them that you were going to go see Kouga.

You got to your feet with a bit of help from both Sango and Kagome. Your muscles were sore from being asleep for so long. After you assured the two that you were ok and able to make it on your own. Maybe I should tell him about the dreams and what my beast told me. Or maybe I should tell him how I really feel about him. Perhaps he feels the same way. As you started to open the tarp that covered the entry way to the house your ear twitched when you heard Kouga's voice: "If you think I'm going to give up on her just because some she-wolf won't leave me alone you got another thing coming." "(Y/N) means nothing to me" You held back the tears that were starting to burn your eyes, demanding to be released. I've been making a complete fool out of myself. I should have known he would never have the same feelings I have for him. I was thinking too much into what Kagome and Sango said. Kouga was just worried because he's my friend." you sighed to yourself, "(Y/N)? Are you ok?" you heard Sango ask, as you turned around to face them putting on a smile. "I'm fine. I don't feel like going outside I think I'll stay and chat with you two. Hey Kagome do you have anything to eat, I'm starving." Kagome started pulling food out of her bag as you made your way back over to your spot. Trying to forget what you had heard.

A few days later you were back to your old self. Everyone, including you, Kouga and Ginta and Hakkaku had set off to the north east in search of a demon known as Naraku. You had learned from Kagome that he was a powerful half demon that, just like Inuyasha and she was in search of the sacred jewel shards. You learned that Naraku was the cause of Miroku's wind tunnel, that he was controlling sango's little brother Kohaku by means of a sacred jewel shard that was embedded in his back. Also that he had caused something to happen between Inuyasha and a now resurrected priestess named Kikyo, which Kagome didn't want to go into much detail about. Later Shippo had whispered into your ear that it was a love triangle. Even Kouga had his reasons to seek revenge upon this Naraku demon, for tricking him and destroying almost his entire pack, just to get the shards in his legs. Kouga was keeping his distance and you were fine with that. You didn't want to force him to talk to you but you also thought it could have something to do with Kagome too. Before everyone left, Kouga was planning on going off by himself but wanted you to stay with Kagome for now. Kagome insisted that he stay and travel with you. But both males had taken it the wrong way, Inuyasha was now extremely angry, even when he had pulled Kagome aside and she said she tried to explain everything, the conversation ended with Kagome walking away and Inuyasha face first in the dirt.

It's been almost two weeks of traveling the country side. It's been very peaceful except for the occasional demon slaying, in which you just had to stand back and watch. You had to agree you didn't have good skills for fighting. When you made camp at night now, Ginta and Hakkaku would show you some fighting stances and moves, even Kouga would try and teach you something, by taking you into the woods and making you fight him.

"Now (Y/N) come at me with everything I've taught you." Kouga told you one night, taking a fighting stance. "I don't know Kouga, aren't you afraid you'll get beat by a girl." you joked, "Not really, now come on!" he ordered with a smirk on his face. You didn't react immediately, which seemed to edge Kouga on because he came running towards you. You prepared yourself to block his oncoming punch, while going over the new techniques he and the others had taught you. You blocked his first punch which earned you a compliment from your dream guy, but the second collided right into your jaw sending you back into a near by tree. You recovered quickly and ran towards Kouga determined to show him what you can do. Seeing an opportunity, you began to strike. PUNCH. KICK. KICK. PUNCH. PUNCH. He was blocking all your moves. You caught him off guard with a blow to the stomach. He caught himself at the last second as you sent him into a tree. As you waited for him to make his next move, he came running towards you and then was gone the next moment. Your ear twitched, as you stared at the spot Kouga once was, he was behind you, he was using his speed. The jerk how am I suppose to stop that, "Kouga that's cheating." you shouted into the darkness. "Everything is fair (Y/N). It's how you survive!" you heard him say back as he moved around you. Then out of nowhere, you felt someone move behind you. You positioned yourself to block his move but you were just a second too late. You closed your eyes as you felt your body slam against a tree. When you opened them again, Kouga held your arms pinned above your head and had the rest of his body pressed against yours keeping you from moving. "Looks like I win (Y/N), you should try" he was interrupted by you placing your lips on his; you looked into in eyes as the realization of the situation set in. He pulled away, still holding you against the tree. You began to blush and felt yourself becoming redder as he stared at you. You gazed at the stars glowing above you through the trees, trying to hide your growing blush, "I guess I win now Kouga." you felt him shift his weight and place both your hands into just one of his. You watched him out of the corner of your eye bring the other one down, tracing the out-line of your jaw, where he had hit you before, the bruise already starting to heal. He placed his hand on your chin, bringing it back down to face him. Your eyes met with sky blue ones as he gazed into your eyes. He slowly began to move in closer. Using his free hand he started to caress one side of your face as he continued to move in. He slowly raised his mouth to your ear and whispered, "I don't like to lose (Y/N)." as you felt him release your hands, they fell limp to your sides, the only thing keeping you from falling to the ground was him still pressed against you. He then cupped your other ear and gave it a small pinch which made you gasp in pain, in that moment he claimed your lips as his. You closed your eyes as you felt him make contact and saw his eyes close. He placed one hand on your waist as the other went and undid the ribbon that held your pony-tail in place. He slowly ran his tongue over your lips, you moaned into the kiss when he slipped his hand under your deer pelt shirt, massaging the skin on your hip. Seeing his chance he slipped his tongue in and began exploring your mouth. Swirling his tongue around yours and exploring other areas. You both continued like this, taking turns exploring each other's mouths until Kouga pulled away for much needed air. When your breathing became steady again you opened your eyes to find Kouga once again gazing into your own. Nothing was said between the two of you, as Kouga once again made his way closer to you. You felt your eyes close in anticipation of the next kiss, but it never came. You could feel Kouga's breath on your face just inches away. You opened your eyes to find Kouga staring off into the distance with a serious look on his face. "Kouga?" you gently whispered as you placed a hand tenderly on his cheek. The touch seemed to bring him out of whatever trance he was in, as he looked down at you, he had a smile on his face but his eyes held anger. "Of all the times," you heard him mumble under his breath, "(Y/N) we have to go, NOW!" You didn't have time to ask as he picked you up in his arms bridal style, he ran out of the forest back to the campsite.

"HEY MUTT! Do you smell that?" Kouga yelled as he came out of the forest and over to an already tense Inuyasha. "Of course I do you mangy wolf." "Inuyasha is it Naraku?" Kagome asked as she came running up to Inuyasha's side. You felt Kouga adjust your weight in his arms as he took off running. You couldn't do anything except hold on to his armor as the wind whipped around you. When Kouga finally stopped, the two of you were in a clearing next to a small river, but there wasn't anyone around. "Kouga what are...?" "Sshh, be quite (Y/N), he's here" Kouga said as his warning turned into a growl. Just then laughter broke the silence of the small clearing, " Well well, I expected to get Inuyasha but instead I get the wolf, and what's this you brought me a female to play with and kill after I'm done with you." as the voice began to laugh again. Kouga's growling was starting to get louder now, "Leave her out of this you BASTARD! I'm going to KILL YOU!" he yelled as his grip tightens around your form still in his arms.

Kouga placed you gently on the ground, keeping you to his left, incase there was a need for escape. Your ears twitched, an uncontrolled reaction, a natural instinct, but one you were beginning to honed, learning to obey the reaction. You barely managed to dodge the strike as it came from behind you.

"WINDSCAR!" you heard Inuyasha yell as a bright stream of energy went flying past your head in the area you had just stood not even a minute before. Inuyasha came running over with Kagome on his back, quickly followed by Sango and Miroku on Kilala and then Ginta and Hakkaku.

Inuyasha let Kagome off his back and came to stand beside you. "Hey mutt why don't you watch where you aim that thing, you almost killed (Y/N)." Kouga said in a hushed growl, "She moved." was all Inuyasha said as you watched him draw the tetsigua out of his sheath and grow to an immense size. The moon shone brightly off the cold steel of the demon forged blade. "I hope you're ready to die Naraku!"

Your ear twitched again as the sound of the laughter once again filled the clearing. "Don't be so confident Inuyasha." You followed everyone's gaze to the top of a tree in the near by forest. There stood a man dressed in a navy blue haori and hakama with yellow and green stripes. With Long, black, wavy hair. You continued to take in every detail of the man that your comrades hated so much, never to forget him. He stood there like a statue emitting a dark black aura, like a predator gazing down on its pray waiting for a the right moment to strike. You watched as he slowly turned his head, looking at you from the corner of his eye. Your eyes met with crimson ones that sent cold shivers down your spine and settling a lump of fear into your stomach. Everything about this man screamed death.

WINDSCAR!!! Inuyasha sliced the sword through the air. A powerful gust of wind in the shape of a swirling vortex headed for Naraku. In the second it took for the vortex to be released Naraku was gone. Drawing you out of your trance. Beads of sweat were dotted on your forehead as you realized you had begun to pat lightly. "Running away again Naraku. Too afraid to fight me face to face!" What fools you all are. Just then tentacles came shooting out of the bushes in all directions, Inuyasha began to jump and slash, while Kouga kicked and punched at the ones closest to him.

From your left you heard a rustle in the bush; a green tentacle came towards you with blinding speed. You felt pressure on your chest as you stumbled into the bush. Kouga stood above you, tearing the tentacle apart. Chunks of meat flying every where. "Go some place where you're safe, you're just in the way here." you heard Kouga say as he ran off to where Inuyasha was struggling to hold his ground.

Kagome came and knelt beside you while sending arrows sailing in all directions. "Shippo is back at the campsite. You should be safe there. We'll come find you when this is all over." You gave her a nod of understanding as you scrambled to your feet and took off running as fast as your legs could take you, although you didnt get very far before you heard Kagome scream Inuyasha's name. In the distance you saw Naraku stab Inuyasha through the abdomen with one of his tentacles. Inuyasha didn't let it stop him. You watched as he tore the tentacle in half and leaped into the air. In an instant, he had drawn his sword and sliced down, using his falling weight, chopping into the mass right next to Naraku.

Not wanting to get in the way, you made your way back to Shippo. You found him in a bush playing with acorns. Not much was said between the two of you as you both waited for some kind of clue to the outcome of the battle. You were staring at the sky, watching as the colors began to change, and warning of the coming dawn. Suddenly a purple cloud disappeared off in the distance, in the direction of the fight. "What the hell was that?" as you jumped to your feet startling poor Shippo. "Come on Shippo, I want to know what's going on." you said as you and Shippo took off.

Mean while...

(Kouga's POV)

He watched in disgust as his love, Kagome, raced over to the bleeding half demon. Having been seriously injured in the fight, he was now laying in a pool of his own blood, his sword at his side. He watched as the raven haired girl ran into the arms of the mutt. How even though he was in pain, his face softened as she touched him. He couldn't stand it, even with a wound like that, he would heal. He turned away to observe what was left of their surroundings. The ground was now torn up in many places from Inuyasha's windscar. Many of the trees had no outer branches left to them; some were not even standing anymore. The ground was littered with torn pieces of flesh from naraku. He kicked at them as he walked through the debris, stopping at his comrades, who would need to seek shelter for a couple of days and rest to heal their injuries. "I'm heading back to the den, catch up when you can." they both gave a quick nod before limping off away from the battlefield. He took one quick look back at the tender scene that was unfolding in front of him. He clenched his fist as he felt the blood drip to the ground from the gash he had received while protecting (Y/N). Even though Naraku had escaped to a place unknown, it had been Inuyasha not him that had inflicted the critical blow. He had no intentions to stick around to listen to the mutt gloat about it. He also couldn't face (Y/N) yet. He has always claimed to love Kagome, to make her "his" woman someday but now he was unsure of what he wanted. He had to leave, leave and get away. (Y/N) would be safe with Kagome and her friends, they wouldn't turn her away.

As he ran into the forest, the wind twisting around him. He disappeared.
Pic of Kouga in the results.

Thank you for reading. Sorry again about the fight scene. I hope it wasn't that bad and maybe you could understand it. The next chapter will be up soon.
