The girl was flying. Soaring over the endless white terrain, the frigid wind stung at her lungs and made her gulp for breath. Her arms were spread wide, but more in an attempt to keep balance in the air than to grant her flight. Her features displayed a serene beauty, despite the creases slowly carving their way onto her forehead.

She soared on through the white abyss, pitching up and down unsteadily, as if struck by waves crashing through an invisible ocean. Her eyes, shockingly green against the white landscape, remained focused and clear despite the turmoil the rest of her body was enduring.

She blinked, and fine wrinkles splayed across her temples like cracks in a statue. As her lips parted for breath, lines bracketed her mouth and a streak of silver brushed her dark hair. In just a few moments, she had aged a lifetime.

The wind whipped ferociously at her limbs, sending her into a brief summersault before leveling out to the same uneven route as before. The woman's eyes flashed wide for an instant, betraying the terror that she had previously concealed behind her placid mask. She blinked hard to regain focus, but the fear would not leave her eyes. She knew that if she did not reach her destination soon, then all hope and purpose for her journey would be lost. She would be doomed to roam the endless, empty expanse for eternity; forever aging but unable to die.

Hours stretched into what felt like a millennia, and the woman found her hope slowly dwindling. Constantly consumed by the white glow, she feared that even if she reached her destination, she wouldn't be able to see it through the blinding emptiness. She no longer doubted the outcome of her journey; she knew it would not end well, if at all. The woman had blackened her mind so much with thoughts of her failure that she was almost knocked into oblivion when it began.

The colors came in rolling, graceful waves, emanating a power and wonder beyond that of any the woman had ever seen before. The bland and miserable white landscape melted away under the force of sound and light that resonated from each shard of color in a sweet, harmonic symphony.

The woman, too, felt the power of what lay all around her. She shed her years like layers until her skin shone with youth once more. She smiled as she slipped into the airwaves.
