I was seriously about to pass out. The heat today was really intense. It didn't keep people from coming to Warped though. In fact, there were more people here today then I had seen on any stop of the tour so far. Thankfully, Jeremy kept his promise and came to take over things at the merch table after his band performed. I gave him a hug before leaving to find something cold to drink.
"Riley, can we talk?" someone asked before grabbing my hand.
I turned around to be met with Alex. "Jeremy told me to stay away from you." I told him.
"Can you just give me five minutes?" Alex asked "Please, Riles?"
"I need to get something to cool me down first." I told him.
"Here," he said, holding out an ice cream cone "take it. I promise that I haven't ate from it."
"You sure?" I asked.
He nodded and I cautiously took the ice cream cone. Alex grabbed my free hand and led me to his bus where it was cool. He didn't say anything until he was sure we were the only ones on the bus.
"I wanted to apologize for my behavior a few nights ago." he told me "I drank too much and acted really stupid. I was hoping that you could find it in your heart to forgive me, and maybe give me a second chance?"
I looked into Alex's eyes and found only the truth. However, I wasn't quite sure how to handle this. I really liked Zac and wanted to go out with him, but I also wanted to give Alex a second chance. He really deserved it and Zac hadn't mustered up the courage to ask me out yet. If he hadn't by now, he probably never would.
"Alright," I said "I forgive you and I'll give you a second chance. But I want you to know that there won't be a third."
A smile washed over Alex's face. "What do you say about me coming to your bus tomorrow at seven so I can take you for some fun?" he asked.
"I'd say you havea date." I replied with a smile.
I got up off of the couch and left the bus. As I walked to my bus, I ate the ice cream cone and thought about what had just transpired. It was then that I realized that I had to tell Zac about this. Suddenly, the scorching heat didn't seem so bad.
