Things Can Always Change (A Draco Malfoy Love Story) Chapter 13

[RECAP]

Stacey and you walked around passing out schedules, making sure to let everyone know if they had any disputes to make an appointment with Professor Snape before Monday. About half the girls and all of the guys you gave schedules to asked you if you and Malfoy were actually together. You being the confidential person you are would just smile and keep going about your business handing out the schedules, nicely pretending not to hear them.

~Why do they even care?~
**Well the girls care because they all want Draco, the guys do because they all want to be with you.**
~Why though? Most of them don't really know either of us.~
**That doesn't mean that they wouldn't love a shot to be with either of you.**
~I still don't get it, but what ever.~

**Note at this point I've decided to skip some time - I don't want the story to drag on. Plus I have this problem of over writing everything, so one day can take 15 pages to write. But don't worry I will give summations of what has happened since we left off - I can't leave everyone hanging completely =)**


FF Two weeks.
Very little has happened in the past two weeks, just classes starting (and of course Draco is in all of your classes with you), many nights of staying up late with Justin, Mike & Stacey doing home work. Draco, Mike, Justin and Blaise have all become the best of friends, which was not at all surprising to you. Draco and you are still sleeping in the same bed together every night, you've gotten so used to him being there that you can no longer sleep without him beside you. You still haven't told him that you like him, Stacey is still trying to figure out a way to get him alone long enough to ask him, since Blaise wont tell her anything. Speaking of Stacey and Blaise, they still haven't gone out on their date, that is happening tonight during the first open weekend of the year to Hogsmead. (In my story 6th years and above can go to Hogsmead when ever they want just as long as it is a Hogsmead weekend.)

~If Stacey says one more thing about her date during lunch I'm going to smack her.~
**I don't blame you, she hasn't stopped talking about it for the last two weeks.**
~Yeah I know, the only time I get a break is when Draco and Blaise are around.~
**Speaking of where are they?**
~They said they were going to over to talk to Mike & Justin about something.~
**Don't look now but someone is staring at you.**
~Who?~
**Oh just the Slytherin Prince himself.**

You looked around the Great Hall to see Draco watching you, smirking as he watched you none the less. He noticed that you had seen him staring at you so he quickly looked away, you couldn’t help but smirk when he turned away. He'd been doing this a lot lately, you found it quiet strange, especially because it was almost like he got embarrassed every time you caught him, and he never gets embarrassed by anything.

Stacey: Yeah I caught that, and yes he was staring at you. For a good amount of time actually, I’m telling you right now, that boy likes you. (As she said this she lightly nudged you in the arm with her elbow.)

You: Think what you want but I still haven’t heard or seen any actual proof of your suspicion. (As you said this you elbowed her back playfully, almost poking fun at her.)

Stacey: OMG I have the perfect idea!! SQUEE!!! (As she said this she started to jump up and down.)

You: I’m listening, now hurry up and tell me, before you explode from excitement. (As you said this you rolled your eyes, she always had these hair brained schemes that never seemed to work out.)

Stacey: We can invite Justin & Mike along with any two girls they want to come, and play truth or dare this afternoon before mine and Blaises date tonight. (As she said this continued to jump up and down.)

You: I don’t know, isn’t truth or dare kind of childish, we haven’t played that since third year. Besides why would we want to play that any ways? (As you said this you smirked at the fact that she actually thought this was a good idea.)

Stacey: Duh we can totally go swipe some veritaserum and make sure that everyone tells the truth. Then one of us can ask Draco if he likes you, and we will know for sure. (She still continued to jump up and down as she spoke.)

You: Sure it’s a good idea in theory but I wouldn’t want to do that to him, just like I wouldn’t want to tell him that I liked him in front of a bunch of people. (As you spoke the smirk faded and you started to look almost depressed.)

Stacey: Hm well then we will just have to change the rules or the game. OMG I’ve got it, and this one is way better than the first idea! (She started to jump up and down even more, if that’s possible, as she spoke.)

You: Come on let me here this brilliant idea. (You laughed at the site of her jumping up and down.) But please stand still when you tell me. (As you said this you stopped her from jumping by putting your hands on her shoulder.)

Stacey: Oh okay, we will still play truth or dare but mixed with spin the bottle, with the veritaserum of course. You spin the bottle and who ever it lands on gets to pick truth or dare. But instead of it being all public you take the person in another room and either ask them a question or dare them to do something. That way no one else in the room will know what happened or what the person has to do. For instance I could dare Draco to come out and kiss you, and he would have to just walk out of the room and kiss you. It would make the game much more personal, but also a lot more exciting. (She kept trying to jump up and down the entire time she was speaking, but you kept your hands on her shoulders to make sure she stayed grounded.)

You: Actually I think that sounds like a really good idea, but I say forget Justin & Mike. I love them to death and all but I sure don’t want to end up kissing one of them. (As you said this you smirked and then made a face as if you were going to be sick.)

Stacey: Maybe we should forget Justin & Mike, I don’t think I could handle having to kiss one of them either. They are like our brothers, that’s just a gross prospect. (As she said this she also started to make a face like she was going to be sick.)

You: Besides I think everyone will be a lot less timid if it’s just the four of us, since were all just now starting to get used to being around each other. (As you said this your smirk returned to your face.)

Stacey: Yeah I think it would be best if it stayed just the four of us to. (As she said this she started nodding and smiling)

You: So do you think we should get out of here and start heading towards the common room, stopping by the potions closet first of course. (You replied, motioning towards the doors.)

Stacey just smiled and nodded once again letting you know she was ready to go. Before you left the Great Hall you gave it one final scan to see if Draco & Blaise were still in there any where, and to see where Pansy was as well. Draco and Blaise were no where to be seen, Pansy was still sitting stuffing her face. You & Stacey gave a wave over towards Justin, Mike, Harry, Ron & Hermione, they all waved back. Then the two of you made your way out of the Great Hall.

Once you made it down in the dungeons to the potions closet, you and Stacey looked around to see if you could spot Professor Snape anywhere. Lucky for both of you he was no where to be seen, so you accio four viles of veritaserum out of the closet and straight into your hand. After you’d acquired the potions you two raced down to the entrance of the common room.

You won, of course as usual, Stacey chased you through the entrance and you barley made it to the couch before falling over dying of laughter. The two of you just sat there giggling and trying to catch your breath nonstop for about ten minutes. Then you both decided you should probably go check in the prefects common room for the boys.

Sure enough when you walked through the portrait you heard their voices. You motioned for Stacey to stop walking and to be quiet, you wanted to try to eavesdrop. Stacey obviously wasn’t paying attention because she ran right into the back of you causing both of you to go crashing to the floor. Draco and Blaise stopped talking almost instantaneously, you and Stacey on the other hand broke out into a fit of laughter laying in the same spots where you had both fallen on the floor.

Draco: Are you two okay, that looked like it might have hurt. (He said, trying not to laugh at the two of you.)

Stacey: Don’t worry we’re fine, this happens a lot actually. Kaylee will just stop walking and I wont be paying attention and I’ll run right into her, generally causing both of us to fall. (She replied, still laughing)

Blaise: Hey why did you just stop when you came through the portrait? You weren’t trying to eavesdrop were you? (He said, smiling at the fact that he knew what you were doing.)

You: Maybe I was, but don’t worry I didn’t hear anything. This brainless oaf ran into me before I could hear a thing. (You replied, jerking your thumb towards Stacey while still laughing hysterically.)

They just continued to laugh at the two of you on the floor, giggling loudly. Finally after about 2 minutes you both regained your composure and went and sat down on the couch by the guys. Once you sat down you put the 4 viles of veritaserum on the coffee table in front of you.

Blaise: What's with all the veritaserum? Are you two planning on interrogating someone? (As he said this he went from laughing to suddenly worried.)

You: Oh yes, we are planning on making you drink it all Blaise. We want to know all your deepest darkest secrets. (You replied, in a sarcastic tone winking at Draco letting him know it was a joke.)

Stacey: Oh yeah, I have to make sure your not a serial killer or anything before our date tonight. (As she said this she started to giggle hysterically again.)

Blaise just sat there speechless with a look of total horror on his face. Stacey, Draco and you on the other hand were laughing hysterically.

You: Were only messing with you Blaise, calm down. It's actually for a game that Stacey wants to play. (As you said this you were nudging him playfully in the ribs.)

Draco: Wait a minute, a game? What kind of game would involve four viles of veritaserum? (As he said this he started to look just as concerned as Blaise.)

Stacey: Don't worry, it's nothing bad, I just knew how board we would all be this afternoon so I came up with a game for all of us to play.(As she said this a smile spread across her face.)

Blaise: Really what kind of game? (As he said this he started to sound suddenly interested.)

Draco: Yeah really, any game involving four viles of veritaserum must be interesting. (As he said this he also started to look very interested.)

You: Go ahead Stacey and explain it to them. (As you said this you looked at Stacey and showed her, and only her, that you were crossing your fingers.)

While she was telling them all about the game and explaining the rules to them you dazed off staring at the fire.

~I hope they decide to play~
**Yeah I can tell**
~I just want to know for sure if he likes me or not~
**Deep down inside you already know the answer.**
~Yeah maybe I have an idea, but I'd like to know for sure.~
**Understandable**

Suddenly Draco said something that snapped you back into reality.

Draco: Yeah we'll play, it sounds like it could be fun. (You noticed that he was smirking as he said this, obviously he had some questions he wanted answered to.)

Blaise: I'm still on the fence about the whole thing, but if Dracos going to do it then I guess I will to. (As he said this he looked around the room, not looking anyone directly in the eyes.)

You: Don't worry Blaise, everyone will promise that what ever is said or done between the four of us stays between the four of us. (As you said this you poked him playfully in the ribs, which caused him to finally smile.)

Stacey: Yes we will make a pack to never say anything to anyone, well other than each other of course, about what happens in or out of the room. Actually Kaylee will you cast a pinky promise spell. -This is a spell that once cast, if someone breaks the vow, that persons pinky will turn bright red.-(As she said this she put her left pinky finger in the air.)

Blaise: That sounds like a plan to me. (As he said this he smiled at Stacey and put his pinky up next to hers.)

You: Yeah sure I'll cast the spell, besides there are a few things that might slip out that I don't want anyone else to ever find out. (As you said this you put your pinky up next to Blaise & Stacey's.)

Draco: Sounds good to me. (As he said this he put his pinky up next to yours, smirking proudly)

You: Okay, is everyone sure about this? This isn't a reversible spell. (As you said this you looked around at Stacey, Blaise and Draco)

Draco: I'm sure, I know I can keep my mouth shut. (As he said this he smirked at Blaise.)

Stacey: Yes of course I'm sure, when it comes to promises, I always keep mine. (As she said this she started to smile proudly, you couldn't argue she did always keep her promises.)

Blaise: Permanent? (As he said this he looked around causing all of you to nod your heads "yes". Then Draco scowled at him and he spoke again.) Fine yes I'm sure.

After everyone gave you another nod letting you know to go ahead you cast the spell silently. Suddenly a blue ribbon appeared around the four of your pinkies and tied in a not and then disappeared.

You: There the spell is cast, now anything from this moment on until I cast the ending spell is said in secret between us four. (As you said this you winked at Stacey.)

Stacey: Okay, everyone pick up a vile of veritaserum and drink it all. (As she said this she picked up her vile and downed it, making a funny face once she finished.)

Draco, Blaise and you followed suit all downing your bottles as well. All three of you made the same funny face that Stacey made once done with her bottle. It didn't taste very good at all, actually the taste reminded you of three day old pea soup, yuck.

You: So lets see if it's working yet. (As you said this an evil grin spread across your face.) Hey Stacey, who's butt were you thinking about that day in 4th year?

Stacey: Blaises of course. (She blurted this out the second you finished asking. Then she instantly turned red and covered her mouth with her hand)

You: Sorry Stacey, I had to do it, just call it pay back for two weeks ago. (You smirked at her as you responded.)

Stacey: Okay, lets start this game before we forget about the game and just start making each other blurt out personal information. (As she said this she gave you and evil look. Then she picked up an empty butterbeer bottle from the table and held it out.) So who wants to go first.

Blaise: I'll ask first, I'd much rather be the person daring than the person being dared. (As he said this he grabbed the bottle out of Stacey's hand and laid it in the center of the table on it's side.)

The four of you positioned yourselves around the table so that each of you are on a different side. Blaise looked around the table and everyone nodded to him letting him know they were ready to play. He grabbed a hold of the bottle and gave it a quick spin, it went around about three or four times until it landed pointed directly at you. Deciding that it would be better to get this over quickly you made your way into the bedroom and Blaise followed right behind you.

Blaise: So truth or dare? (He asked before he even finished closing the door.)

You: Hm, I guess truth. (You responded, shrugging your shoulders.)

Blaise: Hm, what to ask, oh I've got it! (As he said this he started to smile) Do you like Draco as more than a friend?

You: Yes (You quickly blurted out before even having a chance to think about it, you also started to blush almost instantaneously.)

Blaise: How long have you liked him as more than a friend? (He quickly blurted out, still smiling from ear to ear.)

You: I've liked him more than a friend since first year, but I only realized it recently. (You also blurted this out before having a chance to think about it.) Hey that's no fair, your only allowed to ask me one question, cheater. (As you said this you hit him playfully in the arm.)

Blaise: Sorry it was kind of a two part question, and before you even ask I wont tell him, at least not right now. (He said hitting you back playfully, still smiling from ear to ear.)

After he finished talking you opened the door and hit him playfully again. You both made you way back to your seats and sat down in the same spots as before, only this time Draco and Stacey were staring at the two of you intently.
